Japanese designer Rei Kawakubo is one of the most prolific fashion designers of all time. Aside from her Comme des Garçons collections, she has had numerous sneaker collaborations over the years. One of the most outstanding of these collaborations involves her different iterations of work modifying and styling up the Converse Chuck Taylor with her sub-label Comme des Garçons PLAY. Kawakubo’s first iteration of his Converse Chuck Taylors came about in 2009 when she modified the original by stripping back its contrast stitching. Six years later, in 2015, she took the All Star Chuck 70s as her template and created a shoe so beloved that it has been re-released every year since. The most immediately recognizable thing in shoes from the Comme des Garçons PLAY line is their heart and eyes logo, originally conceived and created by Filip Pagowski. Unlike the original 2009 version, however, the 2015 version and every version thereafter has moved away from the original minimalist philosophy that inspired Kawakubo to start this line of collaborations. The Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star 70s Hi Comme des Garçons PLAY harks back to the classic 70s Chuck Taylor style but with a high-top collar that snugly hugs the ankles and a black upper, white laces and a white sole and toe cap. The Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star 70s Hi Comme des Garçons PLAY Black was released in March of 2019 and retailed for $125.

These shoes are super comfortable and go with everything. The style is classic yet unique. The shoes have lasted me years and are of good quality. The only con is because of the white color, it is prone to getting dirty. If I could do it buy these again, I would buy the black color for this reason.

I’m such a huge fan of the converse brand. The high quality material used to construct the shoes are very durable and comfortable. They run a little big so take that into consideration when buying online. I love converse and hope they keep the same quality of standard in the future. Great shoes at a reasonable price.

These shoes are first great quality. The canvas material is a little thicker and softer than your usual converse high tops. The only suggestion I have would be that the shoelaces are pretty thin so I would be a little more careful and gentle when tying them on. Also, the soles feel a bit squishier than normal high top converse. Great show and super cute design!!! I wear these all the time because you can dress them up AND down.
Love the converse Garçon play. Very stylish shoe that you can get away wearing with absolutely anything! Very sturdy and well made thick sole is a bonus. Only downside to this shoe is they are not very comfortable to wear for long periods of time such as long walks. Would recommend for quality and style ❤️🫶🏽❤️
These are the perfect staple shoe! I recently purchased these for my boyfriend for Valentine’s Day as he is a huge sneaker head. He has never had a pair of Converse and has always been more of a Nike guy, but these converted him. He wears this shoe more than any other pair he has and it has become one of his daily favorites. I will say, though, that Converse tend to run large and these are no exception. Just keep that in mind when ordering or you may end up with some clown shoes!
These Converse are the Chuck 70 version. I do find them to be a lot more comfortable and higher quality than the normal all stars. The insole is a lot softer, and they wear better. The rubber is stronger and glossier than all stars. It’s one of the most popular converse collaborations. This style does restock every few months, but they sell out very quickly. I would suggest you grab them without hesitation if you see your size in stock.
i love these shoes so much. they’ve lasted me about 4 years and counting!! i don’t wear them everyday, but i do wear them pretty often and they’ve held up so well. the laces are super long, but i tie them around my ankles and it’s so cute in my opinion. i always feel like it completes an outfit. i went a full size down and they’re kinda snug so i would do a half size down next time. this style also feels so supportive around the ankles compared to regular converse. totally recommend!
Bloomingdale's can't help but screw this order up for literally everyone who orders it. So many reviews mention them sending over the wrong shoe, it's incredible! Why can't they fix the SKU if that is the problem? I ordered the high tops & got regular sneakers. Really fun shoes but I don't recommend anyone buy them from Bloomingdale's online & unfortunately, they don't carry them in store. They clearly don't know what they are doing. Customers have been complaining of the same problem for over a year & Bloomingdale's just doesn't care. Beyond disappointing!
They are THE perfect everyday shoe as I have worn them just shy of three years and they're completely busted and hanging onto life but I love them so much. They do run big but are pretty narrow in the toe box area so I've heard if you have flatter feet or want a bit of room to get your normal size. They currently don't have the size I purchased which was 1/2 size down from my size but i'm thinking of getting my regular size anyway because i just love these shoes so much! A lot of older people do stop and compliment them if they don't know cdg as a brand because its a cute lil heart <3
