I was very excited when my chucks arrived - they had that beautiful classic white look that we have all come to know and recognize. I am so happy that these are coming back into style after wearing them as a teen! I am usually a size 9.5 but sized down to a 9 because I heard that these run big. I probably should have sized down even farther as even a 9 was a bit big! I am going to keep them because I think it will still work as long as I wear thicker socks, but just something to keep in mind. I have purchased and worn many pairs of Converse. The biggest issue that I've always had with them is that they're tight on my feet. I have wide feet and would often need to keep the laces loose, or do an open lacing on the bottom to keep them comfortable.These pair, however, are wide enough that they didn't need any sort of modification to be comfortable.The design and fabric remain true to the original. The canvas is flexible, comfortable, and doesn't need to be broken in. The insole is a little cushy, but not so much that I can't to squats or deadlifts in them if I needed.The tongue often falls to the side throughout the day and needs to be readjusted. This is the first pair of Converse wide shoes that I have. Many canvas shoes I purchase need to go through a “breaking in” period. These are definitely very comfortable for wide feet — my toes don’t rub at all, but because I’m not used to it, I feel like I need to wear thicker socks. The black chuck 70 wide I can say definitely fits better. I feel because it’s a wider shoe I can actually wear socks and still be comfortable rather than having to make sure the shoes aren’t thick. The design is basic which you can dress up or dress down. I can simple wear these with a cute summer body con dress or some cute skinny jeans. The fabric seems thick so I know they would last me some time which is a plus. Sneakers are so costly so when it comes to how the show is made and how durable it is that’s a plus for me. These will work not only for adults but kids too! What I liked most is the fact that although the sneaker was basic it had a shine/gloss too on the toe part which I feel make it glam it up a bit. He wanted matching white high top chucks. I was hesitant on the white, because my son is 12 and as a typical kid he can get messy. But I went for it anyways. In the past we have had difficulty with certain shoes due to his wider feet, not abnormally wide just wide enough to not be comfortable in some shoes. So I ordered the Chucks wide, they are amazing! They fit his foot so well without looking awkward and you can barely tell the difference. They look perfect, fit him amazing and he loves them. I have a foot condition (chronic inflammation) and the only shoes that don't aggravate it are Converse high tops because I can lace them loose enough to not put pressure on the places where it hurts. So I bought 3 or 4 pair of canvas ones. They're ALL great. HOWEVER (and it's a small but SIGNIFICANT-to-me nitpick) the all white canvas ones have a dark sole. And I NEED a white sole. And the only ones with an all white sole are the leather ones. But the leather is too stiff and I can't get things loose enough to not put pressure on my foot. So, nothing wrong with the shoe itself, just that I can't get an all-white CANVAS shoe with white SOLES. Something to think about, Converse.
