If your size 8 shoes actually fit like an 8.5 they don't "run big" - you just messed up during manufacturing and labelled them wrong. I'm a size 8. I'm always a size 8. If I have to buy a size 7.5 to get them to fit then those AREN'T a 7.5. They're an 8. Just label your shoes correctly so people don't have to take time out of the day to return them. I've ordered other Converse with the warning that they "run big" and it wasn't true. This style is huge. Just make them properly to start with.

This is my second pair of Chuck slip-ons -- the first pair lasted about 5 years until the sole wore down to the point where it didn't have traction any more. I thought that was pretty good amount of wear! I liked them so much I bought a replacement pair. I find them really convenient for running out quickly and other times when I don't want to lace up a shoe. As advertised, they do run about 1/2 size large.

I've been getting these shoes for years as I love and use them so often that I wear them down. The lack of laces have always raised questions and opened up conversations. They're easy to slip on without using your hands and easier to kick off at your friends. Have fun loving these perfect shoes just like I have!
The website itself suggested I order half a size down. Huge mistake. I ended up with shoes I could barely squeeze into, and then they look like they’re about to explode. Really wish the size recommendations were more reliable.
The shoes fit very loosely. The elastic just doesn’t hug your foot as closely as it should. The length was fine, it’s just that with every step I took, my heel would lift up in the shoe and come back down. I tried a second pair that was a half size down from my normal size, and it had the same issue. The left shoe even felt looser than the right, which was a disappointment. It led me to believe quality control wasn’t very strict or something. Anyway, the shoes look great, and the soles were nice and comfortable. I’m sure a pair of the same shoes with laces would fit great, but the slip-ons are a pair I just can’t recommend.
I bought a half size down as suggested. That fits my toes and width. But the eyelets end up spread wide. And the elastic lost its tightness in two days. Now they flop loose on my feet. So i have to use shoelaces, which defeats the whole purpose.
Firstly, I would like to say I love All-Star Chucks low tops. I will always have a few pairs and colors in my arsenal. Having said that, the slip-on definitely runs way larger than the laced Chucks. I wear a 9M in laced Chucks but would probably need to get an 8M for the slip-on, especially if you wear them with no socks. Just an FYI for people looking to purchase the slip-ons.
I bought these for my 13 year old that refuses to take the time to tie a shoe. His ideal shoe is a slip on as he's walking out the door. These shoes fit perfect and true to size. They are so quick and easy to get on and very light weight. I just thought my CX were lightweight, but these have those beat. He also says they are very comfortable.
I’ve been wearing the laceless slip-on for quite a number of years. What I’ve noticed is that the older versions were a lot more durable. The frequency of wear is/was about the same. However the pair I purchase last year had to be replaced for excessive wear. Really like the laceless look and they have become a trademark of my wardrobe and a conversation starter.
