The Chuck Taylor All Star High Top is the sneaker with a worldwide cult status. It is characterized by its distinctive silhouette, the patch with a central star at ankle height, and its cultural authenticity. And like all cult icons, it gets better the longer you wear it. For generations, these classic colors, the wellknown quality, and the vulcanized rubber sole have made the All Star a cult sneaker. Originally, the Chuck Taylor All Star sneaker was developed for the basketball court. However, it soon conquered the scenes of rebels, rockers, rappers, artists, dreamers, thinkers, and individualists, and it has remained a symbol of personal style and individual selfexpression to this day.

I've owned 3 pairs of All Stars since 2004, and to my surprise when I received my new pair and went to put them on this morning I discovered that the lining material is not a sturdy canvas like all of my old pairs. The new lining is some sort of mesh foam material. It's thicker but also flimsier and makes the shape of the shoe look totally different. If I wanted sneakers with an athletic running shoe-type lining, I would have bought running shoe-type sneakers. I used the chat customer service and was told that all All Stars have this mesh foam lining and was offered a refund if I don't like it. I'm going to have to hold off trying to buy these ever again unless they go back to the canvas lining.

My daughter loves Converse so I buy her a new pair for school every year. She got the light pink this year and they are so cute. Such a beautiful shade of pink🩷I was hoping it wasn't medium pink like Pepto. Comfy as usual. Last year her black pair lasted the whole year worn during the week almost every day because she ignores any other brand we buy. I'll see how long these last they are lighter in color so they might get dirty looking but I'm not above washing them plus I sprayed them with sneaker protectant especially for canvas. Definitely recommend these and the color.

Long time Chuck wearer. I love these shoes and they are perfect for my old lady orthotics and arch supports since they have flat bottoms. Giving four stars because the tongue is too long and it rubs the front of my ankle. I compared with an older pair and the tongues weren’t always this long so I’m not sure when they thought lengthening that was necessary but I wish they’d shorten it again. I work around it by tying the laces BEHIND the tongue to keep it away from the skin but it would be cool to not have to worry about front ankle blisters. Still, I’ve been wearing these for too long to give up on them. Would buy again, I’ll just whine about the tongue when I do.

I’m gonna say it’s true to size or even runs a lil small because I sized a half size down because it says this style runs large but it does not. It’s weird because I have other pairs in the same size that feel fine. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s made differently that it’s more fitted but either way. Don’t size down. And yes the material is different. The ones before, the textile feels like canvas, as it should. This one feels like felt for some reason on the inside. Not what I was expecting. But I examined it too late to return it so womp womp. Yeah it’s different. And the emblem. Something is just off about it. Maybe because it’s made in Indonesia this time instead of Vietnam. I’ll show the difference. I marked these true to size since the size chart recommends sizing down. I usually wear a 9.5W shoe and got these in a solid 9W. They are PERFECT in every way: 1. They are the most beautiful shade of a bubblegum/hot pink. 2. They are very comfortable! 3. They have the tab that keeps the tongue of your shoe in place. You know that little piece of fabric under your laces that you weave the laces through? Why do some converse NOT have that anymore? It bothers me so much when the tongue of a high top is all the way to the side. Anyways, get these shoes. Highly recommend 🩷
I started wearing All Stars about sixty years ago. They were my go-to shoe except for church with my family. By the time I was fifteen I was wearing a size 13 shoe. By the time I was seventeen I was wearing a solid size 14. No more All Stars for me. I could find no place with size 14 All Stars. Years passed and the electronic revolution took full hold. On a whim recently, I ventured onto shoe store websites but alas no size 14. Then the ephifany. Cheque the Converse website. And there they were, size 14 All Stars. I immediately ordered two pair and waited with great expectations for their delivery. When they arrived I was greatly pleased. The exact same shoe I remembered and they fit. Great shoes that are super light and comfortable. I am unaware as to how long size ... MoreI started wearing All Stars about sixty years ago. They were my go-to shoe except for church with my family. As a woman with a vast collection of chucks, it’s been a while since I purchased a new pair. The current seasonal purple is gorgeous, but I was surprised to find the canvas liner replaced with a synthetic mesh and straight up disappointed with the performance difference when I wore them. The new chucks feel stiffer overall, flex less when walking, and left my feet sweaty. In addition to the whole shoe feeling stiffer, the heel construction has also changed. The heel feels like it may be lined with a plastic insert rather than a coated canvas, which is ultimately the deal breaker. End of an era. If anyone with the power to address this is reading: please bring the original canvas construction back.
I have always loved the way Converse look but they have always been so narrow! I don't normally need wide width shoes but the regular sizing was too narrow for me. I decided to order the wide width on these in white and I love them! They're so cute! But they do run long. I am normally a 7 or 7.5 in shoes and I ordered those sizes here (they say to size down, but I figured the 7 would fit). The 7s were comfortable but still too long so I ordered the 6.5. Length was perfect but the heels were rubbing when I tried them on and I noticed that the 6.5 had stitching in the inner back of the heel that the 7s and 7.5s didn't have. I considered contacting Converse to see if they have any 6.5s without that stitching but didn't feel like dealing with the hassle so I just kept ... MoreI have always loved the way Converse look but they have always been so narrow! They are really cute but I hope they are phasing out the design with the stitching on the heel! I want to order them in black too.
If you have normal width feet like I do, you probably don't want to listen to the web site recommendation to go a half size down. They are ridiculously narrow. I wear a 5.5 in sandals and flats and a 6 in sneakers, since I wear socks. The 5.5s were WAY too narrow, and I've never had an issue with shoes being too narrow. The 6s are better, though almost on the edge of being too narrow still. And even looking right down at the toe box, it even looks too narrow for the rest of the shoe. I also tried a 6.5 but they fit like the 6s, just longer. I have to say these were much better fit-wise 20-30 years ago. And if you read all the complaints about people saying these run too narrow, you'd think they'd change something...
I love these shoes: they look great with everything you could possibly want to wear and come in endless colors, especially with the custom option. Like many, I have multiple pairs. But please, please stop gluing the insoles in. I still have several pairs from a few years ago that didn't have them glued in so I can slip in my own insoles. The insoles in Chuck 70s apparently aren't glued in but I really REALLY don't like the off-white midsoles. The insoles in the latest all stars are glued in so heavily I have to take them to a cobbler to remove, and even he can't get it completely out. Please, stop gluing them in? Or give us an option in the custom build to not do it?
