I love REAL maple syrup and this company located in the country of New Hampshire makes a HIGH QUALITY maple syrup. If your looking for that old fashioned super flavorful maple syrup, look no longer. Coombs Organic Maple Syrup is the BEST I've tasted apart from what I could get in New Hampshire many, many years ago from a friend who used to make it himself taping trees in deep country NH and then boiling it way, way, down to a dark molasses color. I tried this brand of syrup to replace a jug of Nova that was getting low. I poured some Nova in a shot glass and Coombs in another. The Nova was much darker, and tasted much better, The Coombs tasted like Karo syrup. This is still better than Mrs Butterworth's, or Aunt Jemima.IMO. You don't know, if you don't try, so I did. I will try a different brand again, but Nova will be the go to syrup by which to compare any others from now on.
I've been using Vermont Grade B maple syrup exclusviely for the past 20 or more years and have found Coombs to be one of the two best. The new nomenclature, obviously a marketing strategy to appeal to those who think Grade B is inferior, should broaden the appeal for this syrup instead of that cloyingly sweet light amber version. I use mine as a sweetener in goat milk yogurt, in soy milk golden milk drink, in baking, in marinades and, of course, on challah French toast.
Target is ripping people off with this price. This family farm is top of the line because they produce their syrup WITHOUT formaldehyde as a preservative. However, target is selling these for $32.00 a piece. Natural grocers has these available on the shelf for around $17/$20 bucks (depending on who’s president) and this bulk price should reflect an even lower cost, yet it’s sold for almost double. Pathetic since Coombs would fly off shelves if they’d supply it in store for the proper price but instead sells their overpriced formaldehyde products. Stop it.

I have been buying this maple syrup for a long time now. The flavor is outstanding. I like to use it in all kinds of ways but most especially I mix it with freshly chopped walnuts to put on my ice cream! It is a wonderful sweetener. I also like to chop up bananas with a little bit of butter and maple syrup and heat it up until the bananas are creamy. It makes a wonderful dessert
Coombs Grade A Dark Robust pure maple syrup is a spectacular flavor explosion however you use it. Heavenly with pancakes or waffles. Marvelous for cooking and baking. Try some in your coffee for a change! Darker and richer with a distinctly deep maple flavor and aroma. Far better than other "dark robust' maple syrups we have purchased. Will buy again and again!
