I was a little concerned about the "texture" of the painted surface others refer to as I am a picky person, but actually the difference in texture is very subtle and most of the color is on the edge of the plate anyway, especially the dinner plate. I don't view it as a defect, but rather a normal characteristic of painted vitrelle glass. These dishes look fantastic in good lighting.

I ordered 3 sets of these dishes for everyday use. They are very pretty and are sized just right. The dinner and salad plates, as well as the bowls, fit nicely into the dishwasher and the cupboard. The coloring matches my gray cabinets.

These are listed as new, and are not! They didn’t even come in the original box. I definitely can not give opened items for a gift!!!!!!! The dishes also had black stuff smeared all over 4 of the dishes.
