I've used a Razer Naga pretty much ever since I discovered it. A little over 10 years, and in that time I had three of them. The latest one I purchased lasted maybe 6 months, so I decided to switch gears and try the Corsair Scimitar. Mostly because I have a Corsair keyboard that I absolutely love.A few things right off the bat that were different, it's lighter and a little wider. That took a bit getting used to, but wasn't an issue for me after a week of use. The adjustable keypad is awesome. It's my absolute favorite feature of this mouse. Beyond that, it's a mouse that does its job. It has programmable buttons just like the Naga. Scrolling through a webpage, it will randomly decide to start scrolling up when I want to go down. Not an issue when it comes to gaming, but pretty frustrating just trying to use like a basic mouse.Initial quality and impression, this was a 5 star mouse that had features I wish the Naga had.Current quality and Impression, for gaming, it's still a go, but for daily use, the scroll wheel should be one of the last things to fail. The left mouse button still rocks like a champ, and that's what failed first on all my Nagas. So It's a matter of how you use this mouse. Strictly game? You'll likely love it forever. If you dual purpose, game and work, expect to replace the mouse every 1.5-2 years.

I really want to buy into this product but I just can't stand behind it. I have purchased 3 of these Corsair Scimitar mice as well as gone through RMA process on 2 of them. I have been using it as my primary gaming mouse since 2016. But there is a constant issue with the scroll wheel and it is not acceptable. I am tired of having to go through the RMA process. The Scroll wheel assembly is just cheap and not of an acceptable quality for the price of the mouse. The mouse wheel will typically stop working as a button and then within a few months you'll start experiencing issues even with basic scrolling. It will catch and not scroll down pages properly. I'm tired of the poor craftsmanship of it. On top of the fact that whenever I restart my computer the iCue software ... MoreI really want to buy into this product but I just can't stand behind it. On top of the fact that whenever I restart my computer the iCue software will not recognize the mouse and it will require that I unplug and plug in the USB or the mouse will not properly function based on the saved settings. It is honestly an embarassment. I've gone through trouble shooting with support multiple times and I don't see it as a good option to have to constantly replace the mouse every year or so.

I bought this after using a Razer Naga Trinity and getting fed up with the right click failing after a year of use. I predominantly play MMOs and the extra thumb buttons are great. The force to activate them is quite a bit higher than the Razer which took some getting used to. However, the ability to customize how far forward the buttons are as well as the alternating texture on the rows makes up for it in comfort and ability to know where my hand is. I also like that the selected DPI is shown with different LED colors on the mouse. One gripe is that using the profiles the mouse cycles through both keyboard and mouse profiles and seems to forget which one it last used when my computer reboots. I may be missing something in the iCue software to set the default ... MoreI bought this after using a Razer Naga Trinity and getting fed up with the right click failing after a year of use. Great form factor and awesome layout. You can move the key pad with the included Allen key to place it in the ideal spot for your thumb. This would be a 5 star if only the texture on the textured buttons was a little bit deeper. I sometimes find myself lost and searching for the textured buttons to know exactly what button I am hitting. Also the iCUE software is quite a pain to set up as you have to hit the + button under assignments to assign Each button. Then you have to pick what kind of keystroke you are doing. Not sure why they can’t just have you touch the button and hit the keystroke you want for that button. Just seems unnecessary. Other than that I would APPROVE this Mouse for anyone
As a female gamer I find it EXTREMELY difficult to find a mouse to fit my hand and they just don't make mice like this with women in mind. A few friends of mine (both men & women) had good things to say about it. My larger male friends (some big, some tall, some big AND tall) said the mouse was just perfect for them in every way which had me worried it would be TOO big for me BUT after having spoken to a girl gamer friend of mine who clocks in at 4'9 (Imagine how small her hands are) she informed me the mouse worked well for her, mind you she could not reach ALL the buttons but she made it work and work well for her. Alright, I pulled the trigger and bought this mouse with some skepticism - I bought the G600 previously and it was TOO big for me in every way, too ... MoreAs a female gamer I find it EXTREMELY difficult to find a mouse to fit my hand and they just don't make mice like this with women in mind. Alright, I pulled the trigger and bought this mouse with some skepticism - I bought the G600 previously and it was TOO big for me in every way, too long, too fat, too thick...I retired that mouse prolly the same week I got it (should have just returned it) and I didn't really see how THIS mouse differed from that mouse, all looks the same to me. I am pleased to announce that although it is fatter than my Razer Mamba it is skinnier than the G600 and after a few weeks of use + moving the thumb slider where I needed it it's a good relationship the mouse and I have. I'm 5'8 so I my needs in a mouse are long but narrow and not too chubby (desk to hand width) the mouse is chubby but not the chubbiest I've had. The software is easy and works like a charm. I haven't had any issues at all with hardware or software. Feels good in the hand, it's a little heavier than my Mamba but I've gotten used to it - some people even prefer a heavier mouse. I'd give it 5/5 stars but I am going to be picky here, my ideal mouse would be less chubby but like I said it's not cumbersome I'm just SUPER picky.
I have bought many types of Mice as a gamer in the last 15 years. Logitech, Mad Catz, Microsoft, Razer, Corsairs, etc. I've tried nearly every brand, and nearly every mouse. I have found this mouse and I love it. Best Buy can check my records I've bought over 5 of these from Best Buy alone, and I bought a couple outside of Best Buy. It's not overly taking up space, but versatile in a tight package.I prefer the moba/programmable mice, because for work and games, I can map different functions, macros, keys to the buttons. The software from Corsair is 100x better than Razer's software, takes less memory, much more responsive, and I haven't encountered any bugs. And finally, the software integrates with all the cooling products I use with Cosair.Of course these days, most mice have very precise movements / timings / click to response, and it's the same here, very stable. Out of the 8 mice I have, 1 of them did break down after heavy use for years, but other than that the other ones never had a problem.
After two years, I'm overall happy with the mouse. Had a couple issues though. First, the scroll wheel needs to be greased after a few weeks of use. It will start to switch between not scrolling, and scrolling backwards from the direction you're trying to go or scroll more than you tried to. This is a very common problem, and the solution is to either send it in for RMA service or take the mouse apart and put some lube on the left side of the scroll wheel shaft, I used petroleum jelly with good success, did it once and haven't had the problem come back in about a year or so. The second problem just came up, it is now double clicking the left button almost every time. This didn't happen one day, then the next day after a hour or so of use it started suddenly. The second problem just came up, it is now double clicking the left button almost every time. This didn't happen one day, then the next day after a hour or so of use it started suddenly. I have powered off the computer and left the mouse unplugged to powercycle it with no change. I've seen a few other reports that this is also a common problem with some people experiencing it on replacement devices that were exchanged for the same problem. The last problem is the paint chipping off the side buttons. This is again a common problem with heavy use, it didn't happen to me until I cleaned my keypad area with a wet cotton swab.Besides those issues I've had, I love everything else about this mouse. It fits my hand well, I like mice a little on the larger side. The adjustable forward-aft position of the side keys is very nice to have, the optical sensor is very responsive, it's been a great mouse for gaming and everyday computer use. Corsair's iCue software could use some work, it's a little funky to bind actions to keys until you get used to it.
This review will point out what the mouse is failing at.The mouse is not recognized by iCUE software every time I boot up. I have to unplug and plug back in for the software to recognize the mouse.Second, the scroll wheel on this is the worst scroll wheel of any mouse i've ever used. Aa $5 mouse's scroll wheel performs better. I still have a 'free' mouse I received that has a scroll wheel still works better than this scroll wheel. What this scroll wheel does when I am scrolling down, it will go down one then go back up one, and at times it goes down once then go up 2-3. The wheel is unreliable at this point and very frustrating to use during a game. The Corsair Scimitar RGB Elite wired mouse is quite an impressive MMO gaming mouse. In order to fully utilize this piece of gaming equipment, the user will need to install the iCue software application from Corsair. There is a very slight learning curve to set up the mouse buttons using the application, but this is not difficult to comprehend. All light options are controlled through iCue. I must say that the most unique feature of this gaming mouse is the adjustable bank of side buttons! Of all of the gaming mice I've ever used, I don't recall any of them having a feature like this. Using the included allen wrench key to loosen a lock screw on the bottom of the mouse, the user can slide adjust the side buttons to their liking! Regarding the feel of the mouse buttons, they seem to be easy to depress, but not spongy like on some other gaming mice. Another thing to consider, is the size. It's a good sized mouse, and compared to the Razer Naga Trinity or the Pro, this mouse seems to me a bit larger. So, considering the unique slide adjustable side buttons feature and the size of this gaming mouse, most adult users (regardless of hand size) should be able to use this mouse nit only for gaming, but also in a working environment/application. If you're looking for a gaming mouse that offers a fairly broad range of functionality and utility, the Corsair Scimitar RGB Elite wired gaming mouse just may be for you!
