I got this on the recommendation of a friend whos into weights and dumbbells and he forced me to get this to get me off my feet and to start building some muscle. The smart weight selection dial is straightforward, but make you push down while selecting the weights otherwise they dont get into gear. Highly recommended.

Keeping an eye on the budget, I gathered the courage to get these - and IT WAS A GREAT PURCHASE. I use it for light and extensive workouts on alternate days. These dumbbells take a few seconds to switch weight with the easy dial.

The weight selection dial is easy to use and the smart locking system allows me easily do my weightlifting from each hand and get a good, productive workout session without any difficulties or problems. This is perfect for anyone who wants to get up to 20+ kg without spending thousands.

Appearance: Dumbbells look goodUsability: Easy to change the weights but it becomes hard to place the dumbbells when they are heavy.Quality: Quality of material does not seem good, also don't know how long the weight changing mechanism will work. Sometimes the weight setting dial does not rotate.

Very well priced and arrived quickly. I bought this with the dumbbell stand and recommend getting both. The locking dial is easy to use, weight plates seem pretty solid and locks in well. Only feedback is the size of the dumbbell but other than that, it works well.

Cheap build quality

The selector gets stuck constantly meaning every time I want to change the weight it takes 5 mins of fiddling. The customer service response was "As the base is plastic, the pins will tend to fall" and that I should try sticking pliers in to fix it.Customer service is quite good though, quick to respond to emails and organised to have the item returned and fixed quickly. Even if the fix was only temporary.

Cortex Dumbells easy to use but could be better

The Cortex Dumbells are easy to use, strong & effective to use when you limited home gym space & are versatile when away or traveling with no gym insight. Professional looking & are made solid & strong from steel, plastic & some rubber, those are positives but the sticking / non release habitual of the DB gives it a thumbs down with constructive nature. I have had to place silicon spray on the DB when sticking & at times can be a nuisance & quite tricky to release. But overall a good construct but the release mechanism could have beenn tweeked & some more time spent on them. Would recommend to any gym or home user, thankyou

Perfect for home workout

This dumbbell design makes it super easy to adjust the weight for different exercises. And makes it very easy to progressively increase the weight you're lifting. The main problem I've found so far is that sometimes the dial won't turn smoothly. It's easy to fix by lifting the dumbbell out of the cradle and then putting it back in, but I wonder if it's a build quality issue. The dumbbell is also much longer than you would typically get at the gym, which can be a problem for some exercises when you need to bring the dumbbells together, like the bench press or shoulder press. But it's a minor problem, you can still do those exercises. Also this one has a max weight of 24kg per dumbbell. Super easy to use

Very good quality, plates are easy to adjust and make no noise when place back to holders. Almost instant adjusted to different weight setting. Suitable for all exercise goals

The weights get jammed!!!

So frustrating that one of the pairs keeps getting jammed every time we change the weight!!! Not what you look forward to during a workout
