The chino shorts are a classic adaptation of the chino pants and they fit just as well. I love the way they sit a little lower on the waist, but not too low that they look too silly or too young. They look great with any combination of T, long sleeved shirt or short sleeved shirt. I wear mine with a T and white sneaks during the day and with a crisp linen long sleeved shirt and boat shoes or slides at night.
My husband had recently put weight on due to lockdown and was needing some new shorts. He usually wears other brands which no longer are suitable due to small styling and never buys online. I suggested CR due to my love of the brand, he was dubious! Well he hasn't stopped wearing his stretch chino shorts saying they are the most comfortable, best fitting shorts he has ever worn. He loves the length, the slight stretch which adds to comfort especially when bending over or sitting and the straight cut that is neither to slim or baggy just like the advertised picture. He now wants all the colors and Ts to match.
Great shorts. Purchased them from Sylvia Park branch. Staff were helpful. One experience left sour taste though. I was keen to make the most of the spend $150 and receive $50 off promotion. So I wound up with a total of $148.79 . I asked if the remaining $1.21 could be donated to charity. Or even given to the store! But I was told no. I didn't qualify and needed to spend $1.21 more to qualify for this promotion. This was a disappointing approach from the store manager! Great shorts though. I've asked a few friends and they all think that is extraordinary.

But more pricey than the standard shorts avail in most retail stores, but the quality of country road material, fit and finishes is next level. Bought them for hubby and he has decided to rather have only 4 pairs of these than 10 other brands/styles which he currently has and does not feel as great in as these. Time for a wardrobe edit and clean out. The Quality over quantity approach in wardrobe essentials makes it very worth it.
These were my staple shorts for quite some time. Country Road changed the fit and I went off them for a year or so. These have now returned to being a better fit around the waist. These shorts are comfy and will last, even with very frequent use.
