Last 5 months I've gone through 3! The clamping mechanism stops working after a couple of cuts, making is useless unless you buy separate clamps. I've spent more money on petrol going to Bunnings and back to return /exchange it than I did on the item itself. Highly recommend to Buy something better quality.

Great for as a quick clamp to cut down large sheets to size before using the table saw. Works well, clamps tight for circular saw cutting. You just need to make sure that the 2 ends of the clamp are placed close to the edge of the sheet (chipboard, MDF etc) before closing the handle down to lock the clamp.

I read the reviews re this product first before buying it. I was aware of the supposed locking issue but also saw the hacks others have used. However, just like another reviewer said, there are multiple locking positions and I made, so far, only 4 cuts and the clamp has remained firmly locked it and I haven't experienced the issues others have reported.

I have two of these and both of them, as others have mentioned didn’t clamp tightly causing them to slip off the cutting line when subjected to the pressure and vibration of the circular saw. I so wanted them to work properly as mine were both perfectly straight and true but virtually useless due to the impossibility of clamping tightly. After some careful thought I hit upon the simplest of solutions. A 5 cent coin superglued to one of the steel locking plates that slide up and down the long steel rod and voila, it locks tight first time and every time. Now these are my favourite bit of kit for perfect rip cuts in panels.
Love it! Works well. Been using it for the odd job for about 6 months now. No issues with locking. I only wish I could buy one twice as long! That would be sooo useful.
The locking mechanism was hit and miss, until fixiing a 5 cent coin onto one of the zinc plated locking tabs (as another purchaser recommended). But i used silicone to glue the coin. The guide clamps now lock perfectly every time.If I was using portable cutting guide often, I'd probably wan't something better like a track saw guide and a track saw. Although I don't it often enough to justify the extra spend.
Virtually every Craftright product has performed as well as a bucket of crud. These clamps are no exception. They are bowed, so that they don't sit flush on the work surface, and the clamp end slips when you try to tighten it. Effectively you need to have an arm span of 50" so that you can hold both ends at the same time when you clamp it (to push it down onto the surface, and to stop the clamp from slipping).I have made a conscious decision to no longer buy this brand, and any circumstances. They're cheap, but not worth it.
I had trouble with the clamp slipping making it almost useless without another person putting pressure on it on one end so I could lock it down. A piece of double sided tape between two of the steel locking plates and voila! - now perfect. I would now recommend this product. I also use this as a stop block for my mitre saw.
I use this as an alternate fence for my table saw bench and it is so awesome. Like some of the other reviews, no issues with the locking mechanism and it is rock solid. I usually expect the craftright stuff to be pretty trash but this has been rad
Up the back of the tool section isles in an obscure place, never knew of it until i came across it on the website.Good for guiding a router.Haven't tried a circular saw yet, but would be good for trimming the bottom of a door.
