I have had a few pairs of Kiwi zip offs over the years and whie being very versatile, lots of secure pockets and being easy to wash and dry i have found them a little baggy. So I decided to try the tailored fit to compare. They are definitely more tailored, still a comfortable fit but with less room for all the rubbish I usually stuff in the pockets of the regular fit pairs. This makes them more suited to better dressed situations whilst still being practical.I noticed the fabric now has more recyled content which is environmentally responsible. But compared to my older pairs the fabric seems less substantial and a slightly rougher texture which seems to have a higher static charge and attracts lint if you brush against anything with loose fibres. On the whole they ... MoreI have had a few pairs of Kiwi zip offs over the years and whie being very versatile, lots of secure pockets and being easy to wash and dry i have found them a little baggy. I've worn Craghoppers Kiwi trousers for decades and they are constantly reliable. My only criticism is that the hand pockets are not deep enough. Anything kept there is liable to fall out if I'm indulging in vigorous activities especially as the openings are almost vertical rather than horizontal. Having two secure zipped pockets means I can keep keys in one and cash in the other.

Really cheap zips that snag easily on surrounding material and pockets too small for a mobile phone. Ill fitting despite being my “correct” size. Belt supplied cheap plastic and not adjustable so useless. I tried wearing these in the Ugandan jungle and there is nothing “expert” about them. An embarrassment to me and my fellow travellers. Do not purchase.

Classic convertible trousers. Length when converted just above knee and wide enough so it is both comfortable and doesn’t get in the way when climbing uphill. In contrast to the Pro version which were too tight on the leg and in the way walking up stairs. Also pockets more suited to my requirements over the Pro, with large cargo pocket and four pockets at the front, 2 with zips.Convertible zips easy to use and clearly identify which legs goes where.
Another quality & versatile pair of walking trousers from Craghoppers. I have five pairs now, this being my second pair of zip-offs. They will withstand a light shower, and if the weather gets too warm, you just unzip the legs & turn them into shorts! My 'go to' walking trousers. Highly recommended!!
Fairly well made trousers, a bit short in the leg for me with only about 1.5cm of adjustment. Not sure why manufacturers don't just supply an unfinished leg length, say 36", which buyers can easily adjust. That's fairly common practice in the motorcycle clothing industry when supplying jeans/trousers.
I already owned the classic kiwi trousers, and I bought these for a trip to the alps in summer so that I could zip off if they were too hot. They were absolutely perfect for the ever-changing weather conditions in the alps. Most of the time at lower altitude I wore them as shorts, but when we got high up or stopped for longer breaks I would zip the legs back on to stay warm.I really appreciated not having to carry shorts and trousers separately, as space and weight were at a premium. They’re made of exactly the same sturdy material as the original kiwi trousers, which is to say they feel like they’ll last a lifetime.Great value for money and I’d recommend them to anyone looking for a very versatile walking trouser.
Bought these as a gift for my husband. I am pleased I could get the same size and colour and similar design to the old pair he’s now worn out. He’s ok with them but would have preferred the easy fit rather than kiwi fit. I think they look great on him, better than the old baggie ones! Let’s hope he wears them in and ends up liking them as much as the old pair!!
I really like these. I've bought them for a backpacking trip with my family (I'm far too old for backpacking) around Europe in the summer, and we are doing it ultra-light. We'll be trecking around, but also going to the opera, and I wondered whether there is a product that I could get away with doing both, whilst also converting into shorts. There is! The cut and colour are such that you can get away with wearing them with a shirt and tie. I particularly like the red stitching on the one removable leg to indicate it is the left. I didn't expect that there would be a belt included, so I really shouldn't crticise, but the belt is a bit rubbish, and I wear my trousers with a Rohan belt that I had.
Utterly unwearable. Legs are ridiculously baggy and are in no way proportional to the waist size. I have the non-zip off version and thought the sizing would be the same, but it he waist is the same but the trousers legs are massively bigger.I bought them to take on holiday and could not take them. I love craghopper gear but cannot recommend these.
