The Crankbrothers Mallet clip-in shoe plays nice on the race track and at the bike park. Our innovative Match System optimizes engagement for any MTB clip-in system whether that’s Crankbrothers or SPD. It comes with Match shim and Crankbrothers cleat pre-installed in a neutral position so they are ready to ride with Crankbrothers pedals right out of the box. Match Box The ramped cleat box offers easy front and rear pedal entry and mud shedding. A Race Zone setback on the cleat track allows the cleat to be positioned further toward the heel for added control and stability when descending. Match Compound Our mid-friction rubber compound (MC1) allows for easy pedal entry and exit and is hard enough to hold up to wear and tear. The radial lug pattern around the cleat box is designed to provide smooth release from the pedal body. Match Outsole The tread pattern is designed for traction off the bike. Directionally angled and spaced toe and heel lugs offer traction for hiking up or down steep terrain. The ramped toe provides walkability on steep terrain.

Tired some (size 46's = my normal) on in a shop a few months ago that were a little too small for my liking - but they didn't have any bigger.Super happy to see the 47 available here - and they are perfect. Very comfortable as well! The toggle lace tightens down snugly without having ,to really work it like on some other brands that have thicker laces. The velco strap also gives extra tightness and isnt just just show. The durability of the thin lace maybe a concern later but will worry about that then - if ever.Great service from BikeInn as well

Fits great! Extremely good pedal feel! Very short lifespan. The mesh on the side of the shoe quickly disintegrates during contact with the crank arm and general wear. The insoles delaminate and wear through. Although they feel great before it happens. They also have a very thin toe box which has led to immense pain and suffering during rock strikes.

As the other reviews say these shoes fit great and look good for casual wear too. The lace pouch is great for riding and the shoes dry very quickly. The main thing to note is that the sole is better for hot weather than anything. It is hard and tacky making it not stick well on pedals but in hotter above 80 degree weather the sole softens up a bit and sticks comfortably with no issues. Wouldn’t recommend for winter riding.

First pair of actual MTB shoes I've owned. I've had them for about 9 months now and used them about 2 to 3 times a week. I have a narrow heel and a pretty wide forefoot so it took a little breaking in to get these shoes to feel comfortable. The heels did slip initially when hiking uphill but after a handful of uses, they fit like gloves. The shoe is super durable and sticks to the pedal platform really well. I have tried a few different pedals (Kona Wah Wah composite and alloy and currently using the OneUp composite pedals). I've found the OneUp pedal and this shoe have worked the best together. The Upper is relatively water resistant but won't keep your feet dry from large amounts of water. I love these shoes! Wore them for my first ride of the season this weekend and they are super comfortable right out of the box. I really like the stiffer sole and the gripper silicone at the heel, tongue is very cushy and I like the little pocket for the laces. Crankbrothers CS told me they run a little small so I got a 1/2 size larger than I normally would and the 5.5 is perfect (I wear Euro 37, wmn's US 6.5). The color is awesome too!
These have the most comfortable, best fitting upper I have ever tried in an MTB shoe! Materials used are good, and mine appear to be quite durable. Ventilation is average but upper does dry quickly. Grip is poor on pedals. I have used the shoes with Kona Wah Wah 2, Deity Deftrap, and Crank Brothers Stamp 1 pedals, and my feet literally get bounced off the pedals in rough terrain. This has not happened in the last 4 MTB shoes I have had (5.10 Trailcross XT and Freerider Pro, Ride Concepts Hellion and Powerline). If these could stick to the pedals just a LITTLE bit they would easily be favorite shoe. Unfortunately all the good stuff can't make up for the lack of grip for me. I will be returning to Ride Concepts for my next pair.
Just changed to using flat pedals after 19 years of riding on SPD style clipped in pedals. To me the Stamp shoes in combination with the Stamp pedals feels the same. The shoe grips the pedal securely and yet you can just step off. Matched the shoe size to my sneaker size and it was perfect. Comfortable shoe and it works as intended. Ordering and delivery was easy and spot on. Thanks Crankbrothers.
Look no further, these kicks are top-of-the-line!I upgraded my shoes from another big competitor of Crankbrothers and I must say that I am SO happy I went with the Mallet Laces! The other clipless shoes I had provided a toe box too small for my foot, so I found I would lose feeling in my feet on a ride greater than 10 miles, not ideal! I've taken my CrankBros out for multiple rides since receiving them and can say, that numb feet are behind me!Also, they are way more stylish than my previous shoes. All around I am beyond excited with this purchase and highly recommend CrankBros. Customer Service was top tier and shipping was pleasantly quick! Thank you all!
For me when it comes to shoes, I’m pretty particular, my gravel/cross country shoes have to have carbon soles, I tasted the carbon years back and there is no replacement for the platform when comes to straight power transfer. My road shoes I look for the same, but a whole lot lighter for the miles and well grams…ha, might be a bit of weight weenie. When it comes time for new trail shoes, I’m looking for solid, well build cleat shanks having broken a few in the past and decent ankle protection as I ride a little heel in. This time around I was looking for shoes for a whole different purpose, an everyday shoe that could replace my Vans in comfort and offer some bike specific features fore when I’m pedaling around town, the Crank Brothers Stamp fit the bill.First off ... MoreFor me when it comes to shoes, I’m pretty particular, my gravel/cross country shoes have to have carbon soles, I tasted the carbon years back and there is no replacement for the platform when comes to straight power transfer. This time around I was looking for shoes for a whole different purpose, an everyday shoe that could replace my Vans in comfort and offer some bike specific features fore when I’m pedaling around town, the Crank Brothers Stamp fit the bill.First off let’s talk nice features, there is no doubt the Stamps are designed to be a flat pedal trail shoe, Crank Brothers did their homework, and these are chalked full of smart design decisions. The first and most obvious is the shoe upper Material, I don’t know it’s technical fabric name, but having had these shoes out in the rain, they are pretty water resistant in a solid down pour, I do have to say I generally am not a huge fan of the look of technical fabrics, but Crank Brothers kept these looking good, with the skate style vibe I Like. Second feature you’ll notice and one of the main reasons I was look for cycling shoes is the laces. The laces on the Stamps on hidden on the top of the show with loops for lacing vs Eyelets, this all but eliminates hot spots on the top of the foot, Crank brothers didn’t stop there, they included a pocket in the top of the tongue to tuck the lace loops in and away from the cranks, nice! And finally, the Sole, It’s grippy and just the right mix of platform for pedaling to flexible for walking around, which I’ve done quite a bit.Now let’s talk some cons to the Stamps, for me at least so far there has only been one little, ah for lack of better term, grip, it’s the heel cup. The Stamps heel cup is soft, sculpted and padded just as you’d expect from a bike shoe to hold your ankle in, and what at first thought seems like a good feature is small silicon grippers to really lock your ankle in. What I’ve noticed is at first you don’t even notice these grippers, but after walking and pedaling around for more than an hour or two these have started to create a hot spot on my ankle. It could be just my skinny ankles but something to note.Overall, The Stamps, just like all Crank Brother products are well thought out, stylish and high on my list of products I dig. They fit just as I expected, I wear a 10.5 in Vans, Shimano, Ride Concepts, Giro, specialized and now Cranks Brothers. At the end of the day would I buy them again, I would and will probably pick up a pair with cleats when it comes time for new trail shoes.PROSThe Styling, you can wear them every day and not look like a kook. The Laces – Hidden loops and Lace Pocket, Smart DesignTechnical Fabric that doesn’t look too TechyThe Sole – The right amount of flex for everyday use, and enough platform to pedal.CONSThe Heel Gripper – There’s enough padding to not need the silicon extras
These are quite likely the most satisfying cycling shoes I've owned, to date. I don't ride with cleats any more, but it's still good to find a flat that retains the instep strap, as I can't abide heel-lift. I personally found them sized perfectly. The quick-lace system is brilliant, and avoids the struggle of where to stow long lace ends that get caught in the chain ring. The tread is absolutely fine and stable on the peddle. Well done Crackbrothers! The price at Bikeinn was irresistible, too!
