I purchased this for my little ones because it comes with two sets of 16 popular colors. With my girls they run out of ink faster than the more unique colors as they usually gravitate to the basic colors that they are familiar with. It’s great to have a backup without buying another small pack. The extra colors like primrose, copper, teal and electric lime are a plus but honestly some of the extra colors (aside from the duplicated 16) like azure, infra red, laser lemon and emerald could still pass as your basic blue, red, yellow and green so its like having a backup for your backup, which doesn’t really bother me or my little girls. Unfortunately for me those markers happened to be the primary or basic colors like red, orange, pink and black. Perhaps it was a used item. Or perhaps because department stores like Target have a better turnaround for products so their items are newer or “fresh off the press” quality. We haven’t tested out the gel and window markers yet so I can’t comment on that but it seems cool to have.

As im sure others have experienced on their own, when these Crayola coloring crayons have been used over time they of course tend to grow "dull" by this I mean they often have less of a pointed tip. I have noticed that the occasional provided crayon "sharpener" seems to only be available within some of the boxes, which generally seem to be only within the larger quantity packages. Okay, these crayons are FANTASTIC. I bought them for my 17 mom old who is just starting to color. They’re so easy for her to hold, and they’re a sturdy plastic style with a twist up crayon, so they don’t just snap in half. The color is so beautiful and smooth. I was really impressed and happy with how nice they were to color with. They’re also really easy to wash off of surfaces. My daughter colors in her kitchen tower, and she’s scribbled on the counter and on the tower several times, but the color wiped off with almost no effort with just a wet cloth. Seriously so easy! The company says they’re non-toxic, which was also essential for me. These are seriously the best crayons for toddlers!
