Got these just in time to use in switching out some deteriorated plumbing under our upstairs powder room sink. The Grip Zone handles are perfect for adjusting plastic fittings without marring them, and the broad adjustment (a full 1 5/8" on the small, 8 in. pair, more than 2 1/2" for the 12" pair), coupled with the slim profile, make them easy to use in tight spaces. The teeth are definitely aggressive, and they bite well, even at an angle, thanks to the narrow profile. Got this set to replace a worn out pair of tongue & groove pliers. The first thing I noticed was the wide slip-joint capacity. The larger pair open well over 2 inches. The smaller pair opens over an inch. The rigid jaws are stout and grip tight. I like the many different positions you can adjust to, it lets you hold many sizes. The jaw design lets you hold things on an angle and it doesn’t scratch your pipe. Love the quality handles and the jar grips are a plus. Great set of pliers for my toolbox

I am very impressed with this set of channel locks. They are very high quality and come from a great brand. The channel lock part of these is very stiff and secure. A lot of channel locks are loose and slide in and out of the channels easily which can be a bad thing when working in certain situations. These are more precise with where they lock into place and stick in place quite well.The teeth also grip pipe really well and the thicker handles allow you grip tightly without digging into your hands.A good set of channel locks.

I have several slip-joint pliers from generic ones to an early Crescent. These new ones are beautifully made, and have multiple improvements from the original. The slip-joint grooves seem deeper and better-defined for an even more substantial fit and no danger of slipping out of the groove. The balance is great - even the heavier tool feels comfortable and well-balanced in my handt. The grips are comfortable, and the 'soft' grip on the handle is a great additional feature. They also have a wider grip range than previous versions. The teeth are finer at the very tip of the jaws to make holding smaller items firmly. I love the new style of slip-joint pliers from Crescent. They are well made, as you would expect from a brand like Crescent. The new style has notches in the jaws that let you get a better grip when using them at an angle.The new style jaws are not just a marketing gimmick. They actually do give you a better grip then the standard jaws. And they still work well when using them normally. For maximum grip, you will want to use the normal part of the jaw. But that is not a problem.
I received my two-piece tongue and grove Crescent plier set today; these pliers are well-built, heavy-duty, and have a slim jaw design.The opening on the large ones is 2 9/16" and the small pair open to 1 5/8".A useful feature on the small and large pliers is a non-marring grooved cutout on the handles that will come in handy for many jobs.These pliers are professional-grade and come with a Lifetime warranty.Overall, With the large comfortable handles and excellent grip and slim jaws these pliers will be the ones that go into my work bag.
I was able to use my Crescent brand tongue and groove pliers set. First thing as you look at them you can see the quality in the machined metal parts, the molded rubber handles are good quality also. The jaws can grip on to any material and hold. You need to be careful because it will leave marks in the part you are holding. You can also use the soft grip portion on the handle below the metal jaws. You can carefully grip and remove or tighten certain items with out leaving a mark. Overall I love this set and is a great addition to my tool box.

Open the handles all the way, select the desired channel for the job, and get it done. I had to replace a long thin UV bulb in a bug trap that catches fruit flies and other flying creatures that get into the house. The bulb was stuck in the device, and I could not get it out by hand. I tried using a round rubber jar opener, and that did not work. Then I wrapped the bulb with the rubber jar opener and grasped the bulb with the larger of the two pairs of pliers in this set. The pliers allowed me to grasp the bulb without crushing it. With a few tugs outward and slightly side to side, out came the bulb. ... MoreStrong and precise, these pliers get the job done. These pliers are forged and machined so they have a strong backbone and a smooth finish. The jaws are evenly serrated and easily grip flat objects and round stock. The small recessed areas in the jaws allow it to grip on an angle although it doesn't have the same gripping force as being held at 90 degrees. The narrower jaws allow it to fit where some pliers can't. The adjustment is acceptable but not smooth or easy, feels like there needs to be more of a lead in on the two halves. The handles provide a great non slip grip and are the perfect size my average hands.
These two hunks of steel have leapt into joint first place for the best looking grips in the tool drawer for sure. Their performance looks just as good too - see video.The slight springiness of the steel handles provides that reassuring feedback that I need from quality pipe tools. The moldings on the handles offer great protection and enhanced grip. The non-marring grip zone is a thoughtful addition and works well in practice.The slender heads enable greater access in tight spots and the overall machined quality is very high. I do find there is a little reluctance for the slip joints to engage easily on the larger pair but I expect that issue to diminish with use. The jaws grip well at a variety of angles and both pairs work well together.
