CTEK MXS 3.8 Battery Charger

The CTEK MXS 3.8 12V charger and conditioner does an excellent job of keeping my battery fully charged and in good condition, My car spends a fair number of days/weeks in my garage without being started, so the Ctek is an essential. It is well made, and easy to fit and use, I would recommend,

I purchased this at the same time of purchasing a new battery for my R1200GS. I have had one of these before, but for some unknown reason it stopped working one day and was out of warranty, so couldn't be swapped for a new one. In addition to this charger, I bought and fitted a 'comfort' plug that sits permanently on the bike and allows a quick and easy connection to be made between charger and battery. The connector I purchased has three led lights that indicate how well charged the battery is. I had to contact CTEK as the unit makes a clicking/ crackling noise when charging, but the person at CTEK assure me that this perfectly normal and does not effect the unit at all. So if yours makes a crackling noise, it is quite normal apparently.

Very pleased with CTek 3.8 charger/conditioner. I have a diesel stop/start automatic, and the original AGM battery (after very light mileage) started to fail. Replaced with new AGM battery, and keeping car on charge all the time now to get the most life out of battery. The CTek is great. It shows the charging/pulse state, and I know CTek units are good, as I used one previously to keep a camper van charged up ready for seasonal use. Tayna were great. On line order was despatched and delivered really fast. Couldn't recommend any more highly.

I've been using budget chargers for years, to leave for lengthy periods connected to cars and motorcycles which are used infrequently. They do the job but don't last indefinitely, so you discover that the battery is flat even though it's been hooked up. I was buying a big battery for the daily driver and have had problems with the AGM battery in a trackday car, so decided to just bite the bullet and get this charger, as recommended by Tayna for the Odyssey battery, even though it's four times the price of the budget ones. The MXS 3.8 charger is also the one sold by Porsche Club GB, so it must be good, and it's marginally cheaper here. So far it's doing a great job - time will tell whether it was worth the big bucks. Great charger. Used on our boat

I bought this to keep our boat leisure batteries charged from shore power. It works perfectly. The support choosing in the store was excellent.

Great little package

Really good little charger, really easy to use once you have connected the connector to the battery. However, you don’t need the additional connector that is recommended as it is already in the pack (unless you have a second battery)The extension cable is also too short to be off any use unless you can park next to a door or window. I just hooked it up to the battery and closed the bonnet with the cable fed out and plugged it into an extension cable.

Long term battery maintenance

Excellent. Just what I needed. Left permanently connected to my occasional use car in the garage. Should result in long and happy battery life!

Modern Car Charger

Only having a very old charger and now using the car infrequently I bought this to keep the battery on my Mk3 Focus in a good state. Easy to understand and use and much more flexible than the old fashioned chargers.

No output voltage

This product appeared to have good features and it was on sale. Unfortunately it tuned out worthless to me, after a few minutes of being connected to the battery, the error LED just flashes. I attempted a few times and tested the output to see zero volts!Returned to store only to be told there is a no replacement warranty.

Size doesn’t matter.

Luckily I’ve not had to use the charger yet.But being much much smaller than my previous charger I’ll be able to get the bonnet down with the charger inside…Although slightly worried I’ll not be able to find it as it’s so small.
