I had an older Arlec 4 Amp charger. That took ages to charge and needed to be watched to avoid over-charging. By comparison, this is a breeze to use. Plug it in and leave it! The recondition function is great. It brought a 1 year old maintenance free battery that had been deep discharged back to full health (green showing in the window on the battery). The advantage of this over the MXS 5.0 is an extra 2 Amps (faster charging) and it can double as a power supply while you're changing batteries to avoid the car settings being lost. Otherwise the MXS 5.0 is just as good and a bit cheaper. I used the included wick (CTEK Comfort Connect) to permanently connect to the battery allowing for quick connection. This is my 2nd CTEK MXS7. 1st one lasted 18 years till I unfortunately ran it over, but I now have my new one so I am happy again. I used to sell them at Battery World and always rated them as the best on the market.

Second one I have purchased after not being able to get mine back from father-in-law (real good bloke), so bought him one for Christmas.Had mine for five years, they are BRILLIANT. Other brands might be okay but I was exposed to my first C-Tek 14yrs ago and they just do everything they say, better even !- if a C-Tek can’t bring your battery back, it’s already passed on into scrap battery purgatory.- more importantly, it will prolong that day for YEARS if you use it from early on and correctly.

This is the 4th CTEK battery charger I currently own. Frequent use of the chargers have given my motorcycle batteries lives of 10 years and 9 years and both still going strong. They are well worth the cost.
I have 3 CTEK MXS7 Battery Chargers in use. I use them on my boat, caravan and in my garage. These are a great product, very reliable and reasonably priced. I highly recommend this product
Purchased as a general use and maintenance charger for my two cars and bike. I have a 4 year old used battery that was getting slow to crank so Im using the recondition function to revive the battery. Not successful for this after being on constantly for a week. Is it good value? I think this and lots of other electronic tools are overpriced considering what they are made of but it is competitively priced in an overpriced range of electronics.
Great unit, makes no noise, got it hooked up to my optima yellow top battery, the extra terminal connector that comes with the unit is wired directly to the battery’s terminals so when I park the hot rod I simply plug it inWould thoroughly recommend it!!!
The supplied manual lists this as a Swedish product. It was super easy to charge a car, comes with a bag with a printed reminder of the connection sequence. Hooked up to car batery rest went automatically showing progress of the charge. Checked the charging current and it was exactly 7A at start gradually going down as expected.
I have always been put off by the cost so I have never brought one even after hearing very positive reviews from people who have them.I was having electrical problems with my car and needed a reliable battery charger until I was able to identify the intermittent fault.I brought one and kick myself for not buying one years ago.This is a Hi Tech charger not like the ones from years ago.This charger really completes any home workshop.
Great device - and value when on sale. Took a completely flat calcium battery back to good condition in about three days.
