For the price, this is a great Stagg EKG alternative. I can tell the designers were inspired by the Stagg but wanted to deliver a similar form and function under $100 which they achieved marvelously.Pros:-Looks great-Heats water fast-Great pour-Temperature selection and keep warm function is simple to useCons:-It's easy to forget to turn off the base when the water is all gone; if you have keep warm on it will trigger the temperature sensor and register an ERROR. Not sure if this damages the kettle over time-The volume markings inside the kettle should've been on the spout side, not the handle sideOverall I highly recommend this kettle as a much more affordable option to the Stagg EKG

This is the best in this price range of any electric gooseneck--hands down! I love it and use it every single day since I bought it several months ago. It's also beautiful looking and sturdy. But... and this is just a warning if you buy it and NOT a warning to not buy it. The only thing that isn't quite right is that the lid does not fit completely firmly into the kettle creating an ever-so-slight gap that allows a tiny bit of hot steam to come out by the handle. It's not a deal-breaker--I just have to remember to have my hand further down on the handle. I bought a second one at Target to see if maybe it was a defect on just mine, but, the 2nd one had the same issue. I returned it and kept my original. Regardless of this little snafu, I sincerely highly recommend ... MoreThis is the best in this price range of any electric gooseneck--hands down! I was really hoping that this kettle would be a great budget option that didn’t compromise in the looks department. Surprisingly however, this kettle isn’t even capable of boiling water. Other electric kettles that I’ve owned previously let the water come to boil, then activate a shutoff mechanism. It seems like this one has its version of that feature kick in around 208 or 209, never allowing the water to actually properly boil. The highest temperature I was able to achieve after multiple tests was 210 degrees, then quickly falling. While I’m sure this is well-intentioned, for some users like myself this is a dealbreaker. Will be returning.

This is the first electric kettle I’ve owned. For making tea it makes the process much more handy. You grab the kettle, add the water, tourniquet it on, set the temperature, wait a few minutes, and you water is ready to add to your tea. No finding a pot, haul it over to the sink, add the water, take it to the stove, turn on a burner, and then wait. Using the kettle is like using a scalpel instead of a broad axe. It gives you controllable stream of water, so water doesn’t go flying everywhere. I’m happy I bought the kettle, I only wish I would have done it before.
I had wanted a smaller kettle than the one I had, and I found this on in the NYTimes Wirecutter section. Highly recommended and all metal, so no plastic components. I looked for the product online, and found my local Dillard's among the sources. So easy, I ordered online and picked it up at the store (it had to be shipped from another Dillard's store).I'm delighted with the design of the kettle (I had not originally thought I needed one with this fancy narrow spout). And the kettle sits on a small base that sets and saves the selected water temperature. I brew coffee and tea. I believe the consistent water temperature between pours into the coffee filter makes a better tasting brew.I needed to refer to the instructions several times before I found the optimal ... MoreI had wanted a smaller kettle than the one I had, and I found this on in the NYTimes Wirecutter section. It's simple. Also, this kettle takes up minimal counter real estate, and it's beautiful.
I bought one for myself last Xmas so I’ve had it nearly a year now. I waffled between this and a Stagg for a while but am glad I saved some money and went with this. It’s FAR lighter than the cheap ceramic gooseneck kettle I had before and the spout is more precise. It was like angels sang the first time I used it. Love the temperature control and the 30 minute window where it keeps at desired temp before turning off.Two things that may bother some but don’t ultimately affect my enjoyment of the kettle:-it’s easier to turn off than on even though it’s the same button. Don’t know why, I just know to patiently roll my finger over the button to turn on-the finish of the kettle is hard to wipe/keep clean
I love the modern off-white/cream color of this kettle. It's the perfect combination between Cusinart & Hearth and Hand. It's easy to use. The inside is all metal, the outside feels like plastic. That's probably my only minor nitpick, that the outside is plastic. Best of all though is that it doesn't leak and the spout does not leak either! The only time it leaks is if you pour the water out at such a deep angle that the water will trickle out of the lid. But that will not happen as long as you pour normally. The buttons are like a touchscreen rather than a button you can feel being pushed down. They work well. The temperature goes up or down in 5 degree increments.
I had cusineart kettle with temperature setting feature. But the one I had was lid attached to the body and I could not wash it inside and I hated it. So I was looking for new kettle. I was hesitant to buy this because it was gooseneck spout. But other features (you can take out the lid, temperature setting, color) were something I wanted for the kettle. Although it leaks from the kettle if you tilt too high when you pour the water. but other than that, I love this kettle!
I bought this kettle because I wanted to have precise temperature control to match different types of coffee. But I had to return it because there is no option for switching the scale to Celsius. I could convert every time, but for this amount of money, I don't think I should have to.I'm giving it two stars because I think it's bizarre and a little deceptive to sell a product in Canada that doesn't have metric measurement. I say deceptive because the packaging clearly shows the temperature range in both F and C -- by which any reasonable person would could infer that the kettle will display the temperature in either scale. But it does not. It's obvious what's happened here: Cuisinart has a product for the American market and doesn't want to spend any money ... MoreI bought this kettle because I wanted to have precise temperature control to match different types of coffee. Which would be fine if the packaging reflected this clearly. A simple sticker could have solved the issue.
I've been using a no frills kettle for over 10 years and wanted something with more bells and whistles. I wanted a goose neck for more control overs and something that would allow variable temp control. This does it all and I like the heat maintenance option as a bonus. It missed the 5 star mark because for the MSRP it should have a solid handle and if you place it back on the base without water it should be smart enough to turn off, where as this will throw an error code.
