I was looking for an ice cream maker that had a relatively small counter/storage footprint that made excellent ice cream. I researched, found the 1.5 quart Cuisinart Ice Cream Sorbet Maker, and bought it after reading a couple of reviews. This machine has become an absolute treasure in my kitchen! This machine has made creating delicious frozen treats a breeze. Its user-friendly design and clear instructions made the setup and operation simple, even for a novice like me. The results are consistently creamy, smooth, and utterly delectable. I love how quickly it churns my ice cream, saving me time while satisfying my sweet cravings. Very easy to use, but keep these things in mind. 1. Follow directions to have everything ready, then pull container from freezer, assemble and turn on machine, then pour in the prepared "soup". 2. after 10 minutes keep an eye on it, sometimes as it is thickening up the top half of the batch is not doing anything and you need to use a spoon to get it moving so batch is consistent. 3. Be sure you have your containers and a scoop and spatula ready before it finishes, otherwise you might face melted ice cream and stuck on ice cream in the bowl as once you stop it freezes to the side. 4. I bought the Tovolo round ice cream container, it is great as it fits nicely inside the freezer container for the machine so can store it in freezer without loosing too much space. Tried the cheesecake ice cream recipe in booklet, delicious but way too sweet and rich, also tried the mint with our own chocolate mint leaves, yummy. The recipes with milk are a bit icy and taste best freshly made. The cheesecake one was great no matter when we had it but could only eat 1 or 2 spoonfuls it was so rich.

Meet our first ice cream wizard, my 15-year-old daughter! She's mastered the art of crafting organic ice cream wonders – from coffee Oreo concoctions to grape nut extravaganzas. While she's having a blast whipping up frozen delights, I'm on cloud nine devouring them. The texture is spot-on, and the noise? Well, it's like a chill garbage disposal doing its thing on spa day. Maybe a tad more soothing. Just 20 minutes and voilà ! Oh, and our freezer's the new home for the canister – it's earned its keep. Cleanup's not bad. But here's the scoop: the mixer ends up in an ice cream cocoon. Takes a while to thaw that thang – but honestly, I'd give it five stars if not for this frosty struggle.

I cannot rave enough about the Cuisinart Ice Cream and Sorbet Maker! As a lover of all things ice cream and sorbet, I was skeptical that homemade could truly be better than store-bought. Was I wrong!Firstly, the ease of use is incredible. Simply assemble the machine according to the user manual instructions (which are very straightforward), mix up your desired ingredients for your flavor profile of choice, and voila! A perfectly creamy batch of ice cream or sorbet in under an hour (after the custard cools, that is). It couldn't be simpler. But what really sets this appliance apart is how marvelously delicious it makes everything taste. Seriously - every batch has turned out better than any brand-name option I've tried before. And with so many options for customization (like adding in mix-ins towards the end), you can make each creation completely unique. And this thing work fast! In just 25-30 minutes tops, my batch always comes out with smooth consistency and perfect texture!Overall, if you're a fan of treating yourself to cool desserts year round without leaving your home, then do not hesitate getting this amazing appliance for yourself...and maybe for the other ice cream lovers in your life! It’s the perfect way to chill out on hot days or enjoy dessert anytime!
I love my new Cuisinart ice cream maker. So do the neighbors, since I can’t possibly eat all the great ice cream and sorbets I’m churning out! It has been simple to use and easy to clean. The recipes for ice cream have been heavy on the cream, which necessitated experimentation. Using half and half for all the liquid called for in the recipes and adding 1/4 cup dry powdered milk, and an additional 1/4 cup of sugar has proven to be the best way to win the hearts of my neighbors through their tummies! This combination gives the ice cream mix the necessary milk solids to freeze beautifully, and gives a cleaner mouthfeel to the end product. Sorbets have been appealing as well. Well designed and well done, Ciusinart!
The ice cream maker works really well, as long as you follow the directions. We have made both vanilla and chocolate ice cream and they were both delicious. It’s a fairly easy process, but you do need to chill the mixture for a couple of hours, before you put it into the machine. Also the bowl, which is part of the machine, needs to be frozen solid before you can make the ice cream. A little tip when serving the ice cream is to chill the serving dishes first, so the ice cream doesn’t melt in them right away. Follow the instructions and allow the ice cream mix that you made to run in the machine for the entire twenty minutes. You will get a much firmer product that you will be happier with. It’s a great device that I received as a gift and I really couldn’t be ... MoreThe ice cream maker works really well, as long as you follow the directions. My husband and I love this machine. Makes great ice cream! My husband had the old fashioned hand crank (and later electric) machines that he'd use outside but they both broke. I wanted a machine that could make ice cream easily inside and that I could use. I've made my husband regular dairy based ice cream and have made dairy free for me. Highly recommend this product! By the way, Country Crock plant cream and extra creamy dairy free almond milk makes an amazing ice cream in this machine. Delicious! I bought some pint size ice cream containers with silicone lids from Amazon to store our ice cream in. Perfect! Making ice cream yourself is cheaper than store bought and without the nasty preservatives. I got this machine in pink. Very cute and perfect for summer.

I got this so I could make my own Green Tea Matcha ice cream. This is a hard flavor to find commercially and when it is in the stores, it's so sweet or combined with other flavors it's not recognizable. The best Matcha ice creams are at the Japanese restaurants. I like that I can control the ingredients and add sugar, or monk fruit sugar substitute, and I've made several batches so far with this ice cream maker and have been very happy! It is so easy to use, easy to clean, and the only thing you have to think about is making sure the bucket is kept in the freezer so you can make ice cream whenever you want. I do notice that while the bulk of the ice cream is soft serve, there is a layer that is more frozen that sticks to the sides of the bucket. This requires a plastic scraper and I found Cuisinart makes a 2-pack hand held scraper set that will work perfectly. All in all, very happy with this ice cream maker!
Works quite well. I have so far made three batches of the vanilla recipe that comes with it, as well as ten of the chocolate recipe. I just did a strawberry one yesterday. As far as the recipes that come with it, they are so creamy and delicious but I could seriously taste the fat on the roof of my mouth. My husband and I decided to try a different 1/2 and 1/2, cream and whole milk ratio of 1:1:1. We opted to stick to store 1/2 and 1/2 because of the fat content, but I imagine in the future we'll just go 1:1 with cream and whole milk. Just be sure to really let the container freeze before use. We have a subzero freezer and can make a batch after it has been in the freezer a good 12 hours. If we go 16, we can eke out two batches. I will probably buy a second container. Although we are only two people, we eat ice cream every evening with peppermint tea. I measure out 85 grams and try to stick to one serving, but often, we have two. And not a bad idea to have back up ice cream stocking the freezer! We have awesome containers off of Amazon that I plan to keep full!
