Built better than the 2 prong Trojan, but the tines are too narrow and get clogged

I bought one of these since they look more like a proper manual aerator, compared to the original Cyclone one which looks like a toy. When I got it home I tried it out on some ground which had been getting rained on but was still fairly hard. I struggled to push it in and it clogged easily as others mentioned. I then used it on my front lawn which had been getting plenty of rain on it, and it worked really well. As you use it, it seems to be clogged all the time but the cores get ejected with each new push into the ground. The tines are a bit skinny so don't expect big fat cores like a mechanical aerator might give you, but for a smaller lawn this is fine to open it up and get some water and nutrients down to the root zone. Cores as pictured

The new design looked promising, side clearing tynes, slightly better spacing etcUnfortunately it runs into the same issue as the old version, where it clogs after the 2nd or 3rd try.I have tried it on a few different areas with differing soil types so that’s not the problem!Hopefully v3.0 might actually work? The future of this version is a return at the service desk!

Bought and tested on my lawn yesterday. Almost no cores come out, just little bits of dirt now and then. The soil just clogs up the tines. No good.
Great product and works well. Giving four stars because the holes can block, but it is easy to clear up using a screwdriver. Make sure the soil is wet when using this product.
If you have a clay base under your lawn you might as well just use a pitch fork as the prongs just clog up & won’t eject the cores.
I’ve tried a few manual aerators and had high hopes for this one but was let down again. The previous cyclone aerator clogged instantly and never ejected the cores. This one looked like a much better design with the side exits but sadly the tines are too small to prevent it from getting blocked with my soil type. The Trojan two prong aerator seems to work a lot better with my soil type and ejects the cores and nearly every push. The tines on the Trojan are significantly bigger than the cyclone one and cost half the price.
Rubbish product. Tynes are too small and not tapered to allow the cores to eject. My soil is sandy loam with the clay that the pelts came with the only clay anywhere. Cannot push through, and if you manage to get it in, will just clog. Don’t waste your money.
Tines are too small and clog up after the first core. Even after sharpening the outside and filing the inside a bit it's still useless. Might as well just get some solid bar tines with sharpend spikes if all you want to do is poke holes in the ground and not remove the cores to relieve compaction.
Bought this yesterday and found it does work. The prongs clogged instantly. May as well have just bought a garden fork for a quarter of the price. Used immediately after rain so the ground was soft
