Extremely happy with this Amp.I use it with Kef r3s, mainly streaming from Tidal in high resolution and Spotify. Both work extremely with a clear, detailed , punchy yet smooth neutral sound with plenty of very nice clean bass.The amp is also hooked up with the ARC to my Samsung TV and again only positive things to say; any movie is a pleasure to watch with the sound of the One cast, detailed dialogues and great management of the soundtrack.Finally I hooked a Project Debut carbon evo turntable to the phono stage input and could not be happier with the result. Great dynamics, soundstage and depth.Remember you are getting a very small footprint all in one, and for that price there is nothing to complain about, rather the opposite ! Pre ordered this after reading a review online. Was also considering the Marantz PM7000N, but decided on the Cyrus. Wow..... as an amplifier for my Cyrus CDI its performance is breathtaking. Clear and precise. As a streamer.....Spotify, its the best I've ever heard it. If your looking for this type of kit - don't hesitate, it is quality.
Pros: Lots of features like airplay and speaker detection. The sound is very neutral.Cons: Poor and flimsy build quality, dials wobble and the wifi antennas are lose.On my unit the power socket was lose potentially becoming lethal to use.The unit has now been refunded and looking for alternatives.
Great build quality along with sound quality to match. If you have BT Hub 2 router make sure you disable the smart setup feature. Casting from Tidal is a breeze.
Having been thinking about buying a new sound system for some time, I was open to suggestions and have been very pleased with the recommendation - Cyrus One Cast with Dali Oberon 5 speakers. Casting music or direct from phone provides instant gratification! The Southampton team were able to provide a couple of options being knowledgeable about all products discussed - Thank you guys.
After lots of research, I finally bought the Cyrus One Cast and it's fantastic. The sound is spacious and detailed with great separation. Streaming Netflix and BBC 6 Music via my phone is a breeze and the on-board phono stage is really impressive, allowing my Pro-ject X1 to sound amazing. I have the tv hooked up as well, and also run a Rel T-Zero subwoofer along with Dali speakers. The bass control and depth is seriously good.It doesn't have a fancy touch screen but I don't see the need for this given that your phone or tablet play that role anyway when you're streaming. For the price, I'd argue it does everything and more, when compared to a couple of well known two grand alternatives, and it does it all very well.
Build quality: 8/10 The build quality is good. The chassis is solidly built. It has a good amount of heft thanks to the large torroidal transformer. The knobs and antenna not so much. For the cost they should have been better. Considering the cost, the remote should also aluminum, not plastic. I believe they used high quality parts internally Sonic performance: 10/10 Soundwise, the amp is fantastic! The highs have sparkle but are not harsh. Good detail and refinement. Not rolled off, refined. The bass steals the show. It's tight, clear and articulate. Not at all muddy. You can hear individual notes. I purchased the Yamaha S801 at the same time and returned it. The OneCast is all about clarity and detail, from top to bottom. The class AB headphone amp also sounds nice. It's clear with a good amount of detail.
