D&D Critical Role Presents Call of The Netherdeep

Can You Change Fate? Can epic Critical Role campaign for the world’s greatest roleplaying game. The greed of mortals has awakened a powerful entity long thought destroyed. For eons, this mighty champion of the gods has been imprisoned in the darkest depths of Exandria. His name has been forgotten, as have his heroic deeds. Languishing in despair, he calls out for new heroes to save him. Inspired by the campaigns of the hit series Critical Role, this adventure begins in the Wastes of Xhorhas and leads to the glimmering oasis-city of Ank’Harel on the continent of Marquet, and from there into a sunken realm of gloom, corruption, and sorrow known as the Netherdeep. Above it all, the red moon of Ruidus watches, twisting the fates of those who have the power to shape the course of history. Critical Role: Call of the Netherdeep contains seven chapters of thrilling adventure, new creatures and magic items, and a poster map of Ank’Harel. First major adventure module within Critical Role’s world of Exandria, taking players from levels 3-12. Multi-continental story that spans the scarred Wastes of Xhorhas, introduces the continent of Marquet, and eventually plunges players into the Netherdeep—a terrifying cross between the Far Realm and the deep ocean. Bursting with lore and all new art depicting Exandria. Includes new magic items and creatures and introduces new rival NPCs.

A Worthy Tome

To begin with, as always with Mercer and crowd, the writing and world-building are solid. Whether you're running your campaign in Exandria, or just borrowing elements for another world, there is plenty to play with. More Vestiges, of course, as well as the kind of kindred idea of the other party (be they rivals, enemies or allies -even friends). Like the Vestiges, as everyone knows, they level with the players. What isn't as widely said is that they each have very believable, empathetic motives, goals and personalities. They are likeable. It goes very well with the Tal'dorei and Wildemount books. Now, all we need is one for the continents of Marquet and Issylra.

Amazing for a Critter! Still great for new to CR!

Really fun adventure! If you're a Critical Role fan it's a must have, if not it's still a great adventure but it might be a 4 star for you, or it might get you hooked into the world and Critical Role in general! :)

An awesome adventure

Beyond my expectations
31 January 2023

The CR Team does not disappoint with yet ANOTHER 10/10 story under their belts. It comes with so many cool built in interactions with your players to create sad moments, epic battle moments, cinematic flashback moments, funny moments, a whole CR experience ready for you to put your own spin on. Highly recommend!

Fantastic addition to the collection of books set in Exandria.

The team involved is fantastic as always. I especially appreciate the number of female and NB voices involved. I love the ways in which the mechanics and lore are tweaked and expanded. The competing adventuring team is a nice touch.

I just bought this to say something

Everyone in campaign 3 is so wonderful and endearing, but Sam and Marisha, I hope y'all are reading. You've made me so happy and connected with me on a deeply emotional level, best 4 hours of my day, and I gotta say. Y'all have made this critter, so incredibly happy. Thank you. All of you. Also, the book is amazing, and the art is beautiful, the Kryptonian eradicator did an excellent job reviewing.

Very well put together from start to finish. The organization of the material is very straightforward and really immersed you in the world and the characters. Hyped for more :)

Mercerian Adventure

We've had Critical Role sourcebooks before, but only a handful of adventures. This one FEELS like an episode. The NPCs feel alive; the plot makes players feel like the fate of the world is in their hands, and of course: horrific monsters. Absolutely recommend!

A Critical Role *campaign* (not just a world-guide) that takes you out of your normal D&D worlds (Faerun, Forgotten Realms, etc.) and does something new and different! Great content to run, or draw from if you're homebrewing.

Well thought out world - respectful and powerful content
24 March 2023

CR and specifically Matt and the content team are the perfect example of actually doing the work to make great content that is not cartoon-like(no offense to the actual CR cartoon). So many adventures are black and white and utterly banal. Other content seems like being railroaded. This feels as though different paths yield very different outcomes.I have played on and off since OG DnD. Have played multiple systems and made it to GenCon back in the adolescent years of the Con. It is truly refreshing to see content with actual depth. If you ever make it to WI, happy to buy Matt and the gang a meal or feed you some incredible food and beverage involving encased meats are great drinks.Keep doing the work that yields something new and refreshing. So. Much. Nuance.
