Bought this in 15# Green for my UL set up & I really like it. I usually get the Sufix 832 but thought I'd try this out. Haven't had many wind knots, casts like a dream - and I am casting 1/100th & 1/80th oz jig heads with miso baits and it flies!
Comparing generic braid to J braid there is a big difference. J braid has no chemical smell and feels softer. J braid it harder to cut compared to generic braid and should hold better. I will be switching all my reel to J braid.
Switched to this after constant break offs and cut offs with spider wire fishing for musky in KY. It did fair better with the toothy fish, but it had about the same wear on the eyes of my rod.
Feels really nice and smooth on the reel. Brilliant bite detection as you expect from braid. I use this for my surf casting reel and it is doing the job. I noticed the colour coming off the line when I spooled my reel so I suspect the colour will fade quite quickly. I am not bothered about that as the other aspects of this line over weight the colour fading.
Daiwa J-Braid lines are the best fishing lines I have used. They are durable and very strong. The line is thin so you can spool much more on your reel. I got a great bargain.
This braid is the best around for the price I have used all the other top brands but they don't compare to this daiwa tournament evo 8. Next I will try the saltaga and the 12 braid from daiwa. The best reels and the best braid all from Daiwa
There is a big difference between the 20# I have been using and 15# I just purchased. I fish close to shore and often get stuck in the bushes. With the 20# the line will not snap and the boat can't get close enough to unhook it. That's why I switched to the 15# test. It is so much nicer to work with. I love it
