This reel is so so smooth for the money. I got the 2500d-xh and it’s perfect on the aird 7 foot medium for ned rigs and small crank baits, daiwa always seems to be the best quality you can get for your money by miles

Best reel I have ever bought

Best reel I have ever bought for the money. Also, if you feel you need extra line capacity, it is possible to order the spool for the Daiwa Regal LT Spinning Reel size 2000 from Daiwa. Yes, it fits, I've done it.

Decent $60 reel

Pretty decent reel$60 price range, still not a Shimano but no problems so far. Only complaint is the school they give you fits like 80 yards of 6 lb test. You have to buy a deeper spool from the manufacturer.

Decent reel for the price.

Good reel for the price. Especially love the cool color scheme. The green paint really glistens in the sun showing different colors and hues. Really smooth retrieve for a $60 reel. Daiwa did a good job on these lower end LT reels. Just dont put too much stress on the frame because they do tend to flex some. The carbonlite frame is not very stiff but for most fresh water fish, it wont be an issue.

Excellent Reel
28 January 2023

For the money, this is one of the best reels. If you don't mind the weight and you don't care for all the fancy stuff, this is the reel I recommend. I like it for trout fishing. It's a good built so it should last a long time. I think the drag is top notch for what it is in that it is not an ocean reel. It looks really good as well.

I'm hooked
5 April 2021

Absolutely awesome reel. I picked it up just before a trip filled it with 8lb mono. Boiled the spool in water to set the memory, and had a great time fishing with it. Not a single hiccup, no line twist, not tangles, the crank action is silky smooth, and it looks great. Very happy with my purchase. Got a little tiger trout with it first time out. Highly recommended.

Not the top but moderately good

I've already done a couple of catches with it on fish over 3 lbs. It performs very well.Micrometrically adjustable clutch.Smooth recovery action. There is definitely better at higher prices, at this price nobody beats it.

ONE DISC DRAG
18 June 2020

Reel has a one felt disc drag, larger but....? Drag grip looks ready to break if impacted. Reel is light and very smooth, handle is tight. I use light tackles for larger fish and will stay with Pfluegar President in this price range, just wanted ro try something new!

Packed With Value. I Love It.

When I was shopping for a new spinning reel I watched a ton of videos. Read even more reviews. Read specs of who knows how many reels. And I felt for the money, this was the best reel for the money. I can't spend hundreds of dollars on gear. So I hunt for value. And this reel is full of value. Not many reels at double this price come with 10 bearings. And this reel is smooth. Drag is smooth as well. One of the ponds I fish has a really big carp and a really big catfish. I have hooked the catfish a couple of times. Once with this reel. At first, I thought the drag was broken as I kept tightening it but the fish went wherever it wanted to. But it showed me how smooth the drag was as I tried to land that fish. Sadly I did lose it. But not to the fault of the reel. I ... MoreWhen I was shopping for a new spinning reel I watched a ton of videos. Read even more reviews. Read specs of who knows how many reels. But it showed me how smooth the drag was as I tried to land that fish. Sadly I did lose it. But not to the fault of the reel. I wanted a second reel and I planned on another Regal. But a store was having a sale on the model above it for less money than the Regal cost. So I bought one of them instead. For being a model above, it is not better. It is not as smooth. Not sure why it cost more. But I would like another spinning reel for another application. And I am figuring on getting another Regal. And it is tough. I am disabled and have trouble walking and I have fallen twice while I had this reel in my hand. Both times it landed reel down first. No damage. And it hit hard both times. Impressed me for sure. I know people say that as you go up in price they just get better. How much better do I need it? I think this is just fine for me. Now don't get me wrong. If Publishers Clearing house knocks on my door with a check for several million dollars, I will buy more expensive reels. Just because I could. But I am totally satisfied with this reel. As I am with all my Daiwas.

Very dissatisfied with this reel.

I have lots of Daiwa reels and I guess I will go back to using my old beat up ones. This one grinds like an old washing machine. I have oiled it and it has never been near salt water.
