Dakine 2023 Baron GORE-TEX Index Mitt

The Dakine Baron Gore-Tex Trigger Mitt gloves are designed to provide waterproof protection and excellent thermal insulation while allowing for some finger mobility. With their stylish Bison color, these mittens are both practical and aesthetically pleasing, keeping you warm and comfortable during your winter adventures. The Dakine Baron Gore-Tex Trigger Mitts are gloves specially designed for skiing and snowboarding, in a Bison color (a dark brown tone). These mitts provide optimal protection against harsh winter conditions. The mitts feature Gore-Tex technology, making them waterproof and moisture-resistant while allowing your hands to breathe, preventing condensation. This feature ensures that your hands stay dry and comfortable even in snowy or wet conditions. The "Trigger Mitt" design offers an ergonomic design with a separate pocket for the thumb, another for the index finger, and a common compartment for the other fingers, allowing for better thermal insulation and greater finger mobility. This design enhances warmth while providing some dexterity to handle ski or snowboard equipment. The materials used in the glove's construction are stretch materials that provide optimal freedom of movement. The Dakine Baron Gore-Tex mitts are equipped with a soft Merino wool lining for added comfort and warmth. Merino wool absorbs moisture from sweat, preventing you from getting wet inside the glove and catching a cold. Additionally, it acts as an excellent insulator. The glove's insulation is made of Primaloft, a high-quality synthetic imitation of down. The glove is rated as a 4 out of 5 on the warmth scale. They are also equipped with an adjustable wrist strap for a personalized and secure fit.

These gloves are great, they keep my hand nice and warm during cold days. As far as waterproofing, they hold up well especially during snowy days. The only thing I don’t like is that the wrist strap on the left glove is placed on the bottom of the glove sleeve when it should have been placed on the top. I would also appreciate glove care instructions to help prolong the life of these gloves. All in all, it’s a very warm and comfortable glove. I would purchase again.

Gloves and mittens for moi.I like Dakine GORE-TEX gloves for men. Many years no issues or excessive wear of my Dakine Titan gauntlet glove. The Titan is GORE-TEX includes liner glove, keeps me warm, not sweaty and easy to remove the glove liner for the spring ski trips. Used on windy -5 degree days, no issues. So wow to my eye and included technology in these new, Dakine Team Baron, Chris Benchetler mittens. Large fits nice. Will try them in CO upcoming season 2021-22. Design, Materials and Aesthetics a real beauty!Dakine Team Baron, Chris Benchetler mittens. the Lamborghini of mittens...Thanks again EVO!

I like the dexterity of a glove but on cold days I want the warmth of a mitt. The trigger mitt style is the perfect compromise. These things are super warm - I was nice and toasty on a 12-degree day when my friends were complaining about cold fingers. I like a simple under-the-cuff style and these are exactly what I wanted. The wrist is just tight enough that they feel secure and keep the cold air out, but they’re easy to take on and off without messing with cinch cords or velcro straps. The leather is nice and supple but super tough. My 6-yr old is learning to ski and I did about 30 laps on the rope tow at Mission Ridge with her last week - no damage at all to the palm of my right mitt. Another great product from Dakine.

First impressions
20 September 2022

Disclaimer: I have yet to use these on the slopes. This is a first impression review, ahead of the season.I always wanted a pair of this style of gloves for snowboarding since the mitten helps group the heat of my fingers but the lone index finger allows for the needed mobility to strap in my bindings. These seem to do just that!Additionally, the interior material is wool, which is a nice step up from the fleece lined gloves I've had in the past. The leather Gortex exterior is really flexible, unlike leather gloves I've had in the past.My biggest concern is the leather getting soaked and getting cold as I've experienced that with a cheaper pair of gloves in the past. Will update the review if this is the case.

Great gloves
13 February 2022

Great gloves. While I have only used these a couple of times so far, they seem to be excellent so far. The material feels very nice and heavy duty. The Gore-Tex grip really is more grippy than I expected. Lastly, these keep your hands really warm and comfortable.

Great mitts.
27 December 2021

Bought these for a bit more dexterity in winter and also winter cycling. Have not used them for cycling yet, but with windchills of -44C today, these kept my hands toasty while shovelling my walk and the one next door. They do fit small around the hand, Ordered a size up, and they fit perfectly, though when using separate merino liners they are more challenging to get on and a bit tight.

Not for extreme cold
26 November 2022

I received these mittens this afternoon and they will be on their way back to the seller tomorrow. I do not have a large hand. I ordered the large size, thinking there would be some air space, but they were very tight. The smooth leather material and tight fit on the thumb will not be warm in very cold weather, especially if I am skiing or snowmobiling with wind chill. Very disappointed, especially with the high cost. Might be okay for snow shoveling where a person is only outdoors for a short time.

Pulled the trigger on a trigger mitt!
9 December 2019

I've been running the previous years version of these (the Bentchetler Pro version, same same but different). Awesome glove, very warm, very dry. Took a day or so to get used to the trigger but it's great. As a previous "glove" only user, the mitts are great, you get the added dexterity of a gloved finger and the warmth of a mitt. I bought these and a baron mitt (non trigger) and i only really use the regular mitt to clear the truck on big snow days! This will be my second season with these. They have held up very well, no tearing, or excessive wear at all. slap some leather care balm on and they look like new!

Rarely am I completely happy with a glove
27 November 2018

Dakine gloves even cheap one are usually great. This one is no different. Most reviews lack info that should be added so here it is....This glove does come with a wrist leash, the mitten part is completely open so all your fingers are touching as opposed to being partitioned like most mittens today. Partitions defeat the purpose of having a mitten in my option. There is no Velcro wrist closure, just an elsastic cuff which seems to be a feature I can live with. The fit feels great and is true to size for most manufactures. Overall after trying on a dozen or so mitts these are the best fitting, best looking and best priced with the most features that has Goretex.

Solid waterproof gloves
17 April 2022

I really like the trigger finger for a little more dexterity with my board bindings. Gloves are very waterproof from the three times I've used them so far in wet and dry weather. I like the leather one them as they seem more durable for a boarder who has to wipe snow out of bindings. Never got cold in them either. They are under the cuff gloves in case you are wondering so if you're looking for something that can go over, probably not for you.
