Even if snow and moisture gets in the glove, the material in the lining was really good at wicking it out.Havn't had enough wear time to attest to durability or use on a tow-rope, but they seem like they have a good bit of material in the palm.

These mittens are similar to the Hestra Heli, of which I have had two sets over the years, but at less than half the cost. The exterior materials are nearly identical, the cuff is large, the insulation is similar, and they have an (albeit smaller) elastic wrist strap. Hestra has the option of more exact sizing, while Dakine goes with the normal S,M,L, but for me that was not a huge negative. I would not say they are equal to the Hestra Heli, but they are very close. This is a solid mitten, has good warmth and is waterproof. I would recommend it.

I used these for 0-10 degrees F weather. These are definitely very warm, but did not keep my hands dry. My hands were sweaty and clammy during snowboarding. The wool lining also started fraying and coming off when I took my hand out... it was only my first use. These gloves are good for light activity, but definitely too hot for snowboarding.
I own a pair of Titans and I find that they are a great all-around mitt but they don't cut it on the coldest days. I've field tested the Expeditions on a few sub -20C days and I'm impressed by how they're holding up. The wool-blended lining feels really nice on the skin and it definitely keeps the hands warmer than the Titans.
These gloves kept my hands warm the entire day in VT. Anytime they got wet they took only a few minutes to dry. Would recommend for anyone who wants warm hands! Dexterity is difficult but that's what you sign up for with mittens.
Wore these mittens on single digit days, 20 degree rainy days and 10 inch of powder days. These mittens passed the test and kept my hands toasty throughout the day in all conditions.
My son loves these mitts! He was looking for a warmer mitt for long days snowboarding in cold temps - and he loves the wrist bands so they never get lost! Super happy with this purchase.
I always struggled with my hands getting cold while I was snowboarding I purchased these mittens because they claim to be really warm, so far I've ridden in some pretty cold weather that would usually make my hands cold but these Dakine GORE-TEX mittens held up really well and my hands have never gotten cold, will definitely buy another pair when the time comes
Bought them for my brother as a Xmas gift, the elastic wrist strap broke when he picked it up for the first time. He also complained about his fingers still being cold while riding, that might just be a him issue though. I think they're pretty comfortable.
