Absolutely love this , took a little time to fit to my truck as abit fiddly at first but once you have taken off and put on a few times it’s very easy .I have a soft torneu cover that rolls back so I did have to tighten that to stop it flapping around , as was abit to tight against foam lining to keep the pick up pad on and close .The only negative is that it blocks my rear view camera and sensors but if you no the length of your truck isn’t too much of a worry apart from constantly setting the sensors off when reversing as don’t have front sensors .As a single mum of 2 young kids this is perfect as it doesn’t require me having to lift them on top of the truck like a bike rack and instead just over the tail gate . This is my second pickup Pad from Dakine. I have used it on two different Honda Ridgelines. It is easy to take on and off (for car washes) and lasts pretty well, a few years. I REALLY wish they did not put the tailgate handle cover on it as it Blocks the backup camera. I solve this by cutting the flap off.

Purchased this for transporting 3 electric bicycles. Once installed and centered across the tailgate there was approximately 1/2" gap on both sides with this large sized Dakine pad. It's well padded. Despite the extended lip of the Ram tailgates, there was no issue with fit. There were enough straps to hold six bicycles. The velcro straps were sturdy and held down my two 80-pound bikes, no problem.

Stand out from the crowd. There is a wide variety of gear that is functional, usually in black, grey or brown. And yes Dakine makes some awesome gear in that category as well. But when you feel the need to stand out, be a bit bold and let your style speak as loudly as your stoke and skills, then Dakine gear should always be your first stop.Not affiliated with them, just a big fan on and off the bike. Easy to install on my '07 Tacoma. Fits snugly and the flap is nicely aligned with the tailgate handle. Bikes stay in place pretty well with just the strap (other models have foam blocks that create a slot for the down tube and the fork). Both the straps that attach to the tailgate and the straps to attach your bikes seem a bit extra long but doesn't really impact usability.
The Dakine pickup pad fit on my Ford Ranger (6 foot bed) tailgate pretty well. I just used it to transport two bikes on the highway last weekend and nothing seemed to get moved around or dislodged too much! The only thing is that the loops do not match the grooves on my bed, so the bikes will tilt slowly over time. If you have more than one, you can lean it so the rear tires will pyramid next to one another. So works just fine!I have a tonneau cover so I knew ahead of time that I have to use that or the Dakine at a given time, so just a heads up.
I bought this almost 1 year ago, the material has faded and worn a little but it's still in great shape and still holds my bike securely. There were times when I would keep it on for weeks at a time, even kept it on for a few months one of those times. It's been through rain, heat, and freezing weather, the material is still in great shape, no tears or stitching coming apart at all yet. Still a good idea to take it off when not in use, the outer part is very good at repelling water but condensation can form underneath it overnight. Those 3 small elastic bands it comes with are to bundle up the excess straps after it's put on, I lost one but a ziptie works just fine as a replacement. This makes transporting bikes to the trails a breeze. Very good quality and protects bikes and vehicle. The side that lays on the car and a soft material. The small fits my Honda Ridgeline perfectly. I'm so happy I bought this and also happy that I ordered through Al's. Great price and shipped fast.
Excellent stability for 4 bikes on a 10 hour drive. Soft material on the underside does not scratch the paint on my truck. Thick padding and individual Velcro straps for the downtube keeps each bike in its place. The pad did not move, it was able to be strapped snuggly on the tailgate. full size Toyota Tundra pickup fit perfectly. I liked this one because it is the nylon material on the outside. I do not have the black one, but I read that the black one is vinyl on the outside.
Fits ok on my 2015 silverado. The opening for the handle doesn't exactly line up but i can still reach in and open it. Also the straps which hold the bike could use a little more hook and loop material on them. Overall it does its job as a tailgate pad to hold my bikes but just a couple of minor items as mentioned.
