With the Dali Sub E-9 F, you experience movies and music more intensely. The subwoofer produces the lowest fequencies, so you can enjoy bass guitars and explosions even more. You can also connect the subwoofer to speakers from a different brand than Dali.

Bought this nearly a year ago as an addition to my little Opticon 1 MK2's connected up to an Evo75.Its only in a smallish room, so never needed to push it hard, but it does a superb job filling out the already excellent sound. It manages to add depth without being overpowering - essential when your music taste is as eclectic as mine.Yes I could have bought smaller, and probably cheaper, but never regreted sticking with Dali.

I still enjoy the tactile nature of little silver discs so the first step towards updating my ageing hi-fi system was the purchase of a Cambridge Audio Azur CD player, closely followed by an Azur 650a amp. I was taken by the positive reviews of Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 speakers, so I bought a couple of pairs for two adjacent rooms. I was generally very pleased with them but I fancied a little more bass, which I thought would materialise once the units had many hours of playing behind them.I visited my local store for advice and the Dali E9F was recommended because it would integrate smoothly with the Diamonds' frequency range. A demo was set up with similar speakers and I was greatly impressed. It is powerful but versatile, and it gives the extra dimension (and more) that I was looking for without having to needlessly upgrade my existing speakers. It can be set to give an optimum performance or it can be tweaked to suit individual pieces of music or my listening moods enabling me to have the rhythm section playing happily in the background or stepping forward to join me in the room.I'm very pleased with the purchase and many thanks to Steve for his time and help during my visits to the store and for his follow-up courtesy phone call.(I did wonder how its downward-facing port would perform on the thick carpet of my chosen room, and I soon had my answer. When I set the controls to the initial recommended positions and hit the Play button my heart sank as the speaker boomed and rattled but when I lifted the front and inch or so, it calmed down. Fortunately, I had something to hand to made an ideal base for it to stand on to eliminate the back pressure and, once that little task was out of the way, I settled down to enjoy it to the full.)

Bought this sub add bass to a home audio set up with multiple chrome cast amps and and monitor audio ceiling speakers. The sub is used in a room measuring 11 metres by 4 metres and is amazing. Added to am amazing party atmosphere all new years eve when it was only a day old! I previously had a 10inch Rel with a home cinema / audio set up and the Dali has exceeded my expectations. Dont let the 8inch driver put you off. This sub has deep bass and delivers.I purchased from the Watford branch and the service was fantastic. The guys knew what they were talking about and fantastic customer service. Highly recommend giving them a call.

The Dali sub has added great depth, bass and atmosphere to my set up.I have 4 monitor audio ceiling speakers and 2 Dali opticon 1 MK2 speakers and the Dali sub completes the set and sounds superb now.Great addition and would thoroughly recommend.
I had bought this as part of the 5.1.2 home cinema package with dali 5s and Marantz sr7015 along with the Sony a80j tv, The whole package is fantastic, Sound is detailed and feels like you are wrapped in a sound bubble. When playing music it does just as amazingly. The picture on the TV along with this I honestly could not ask for anymore and the Glasgow store that I had bought from (Alan) who did a great package price and really knew his stuff was just the cherry on top. Thank you for making this all go so smoothly. Brilliant.
Went into the Leicester store and Levi was fantastic. My daughter was looking for a good level entry deck with amp/speaker set up. Levi took us through loads of optioned and demo’d a unit, Q Acoustic active speakers, Dali sun woofer, Denon DP300 deck and mission Stancette speaker stands, which we ended up buying at a very good price. Highly recommended.
I bought this to replace a 10 yr old Onkyo that was a fairly basic kit unit. Having just recently upgraded the fronts to Dali Oberons, I thought I'd stick with Dali and buy the sub recommended - and I'm very glad I did. I choose the E9 because I didn't want a huge boom box in the room and it sits nicely at the front without taking up too much space. The sound difference is astonishing. Despite the fairly compact size, it's a powerful unit that easily fills our room, and in fact has to be turned down. The added ability to adjust phase and crossover enable very precise customisation of the sound, which was necessary as the recommended levels from the Audyssey set-up mic, were way too loud. With the levels tweaked, the sound from the sub is fantastic. It's added a ... MoreI bought this to replace a 10 yr old Onkyo that was a fairly basic kit unit. With the levels tweaked, the sound from the sub is fantastic. It's added a whole new layer or richness and depth to the sound stage that I never knew was possible - and not just in the obvious bass areas. Vocals are now richer too, and the overall presence of the sound is greatly improved. Highly recommend the speaker, and Richer Sounds as alwaysOnly criticism, and the reason for the 4 stars: The unit doesn't come with a front grille, and I personally found the Aluminium cone ugly and intrusive. There is a grille made for the E9, which had to be be bought separately - from another supplier as Richer Sounds don't stock. And it's £29.95 - which although it looks great, is steep.Advice to Richer Sounds - start stocking the grilleAdvice to Dali - start including the grille with the subI would have much rather bought in one go from one transaction, without having to pay extra
Bought to add some ooomph to a pair of Dali Zensor 5s in a stereo setup in a large room. Have set the volume just pretty low but the overall sound is changed dramatically allowing the compact floor standers to really sing. An excellent purchase and far more cost effective than replacing the Zensors with larger speakers.
When looking for a subwoofer I had narrowed it down to the REL TZero or the Dali E9F, and eventually opted for the Dali as on paper it has a beter spec - principally a larger speaker and more power. I also considered that a forward firing speaker (as in the Dali) may be better suited to my room than a downward firing seaker (as in the REL), as the room has deep carpet.I listened to the Dali and REL in a Richer Sounds store and it sounded to me that the REL was much subtler (in a good way) and controlled than the Dali, but still went for the Dali as I thought this must be due to the set-up, which I could adjust in my house to ge the right sound.Upon setting up the Dali I was not impressed with many aspects, but please note that these are specific to my set up and ... MoreWhen looking for a subwoofer I had narrowed it down to the REL TZero or the Dali E9F, and eventually opted for the Dali as on paper it has a beter spec - principally a larger speaker and more power. This meant that the subwoofer had to be placed in view, and it it not a good looking thing. The cabinet is fairly basic, but the speaker itself is silver which really stands out as no grill is supplied (you can buy one for an additional £30!). In addition there is a bright blue LED on the front of the subwoofer which is very prominent and distracting - I have no idea why this is on the front. It should be on the back.More importantly, I did not find the sound impressive at all despite trying to set it up correctly. The Dali E9F subwoofer seems very one-dimensional and just booms in a quite uncontrolled way. Many reviews talk about 'room shaking bass' and the like, but for me it is the subtle low end sounds that add depth to films as much as the dramatic louder sounds, and the Dali did not seem to produce much in this range. I decided to take the Dali back and swap it for the REL (thank you Richer Sounds), and I am extremely glad that I did.The REL is very different, and for me a much better subwoofer. The cabinet is smaller and can be tucked away behind furniture or speakers, but in addition to this it has a beatiful gloss black finish which is hand polished and reflects its surroundings, almost allowing it to disappear into the background. The sound is its most impressive feature however. Neither the small size of the cabinet, or smaller speaker or lesser output (than the Dali) ever seem to be any constraint on the REL's performance. The TZero has a staggering depth and reproduces a full range of low-frequency sounds in a highly controlled way, from huge explosions to the almost inaudible echo in a cave that expands the soundstage immensely and gives the scene real ambience. I am still being surprised by how good and full the sound is, and it certainly fills my room. My carpet is no constraint at all! In addition to this, the REL is a very well made product and it is clear that they have put a lot of thought and effort into it. The TZero is one of the most impressive pieces of 'kit' that I have ever bought - it really is that impressive.Overall, I am extremely pleased with the REL TZero, which performs exactly as I had hoped and far better than the Dali. I thoroughly recommend that you audition the REL if you are considering the Dali. Please note that I have also posted a review on the REL TZero as well.
I bought two DALI E-9F subs about three weeks ago to go with my seven speaker DALI OBERANS and two MONITER AUDIO atmos speakers (all bought from richer sounds) and my set up is almost complete . The service was excellent from steve in the prestwich branch . I will be looking forward to seeing him again for more advice to complete my set up .
