After having a competitors model fail on me relatively early in the piece, I purchased the Darche unit. It’s by far a superior unit and from all initial indications this will stand the test of time. Comparing the 2 units side by side, the darche has a quality feel to it. Much more quality in the construction has gone into the darche - barely any play in the hinges on set up where the other is all over the joint. Pay the bit extra trust me. Couldn’t be happier with this one.

Great product. Coals are retained and very little drops through to the support plate. Very stable. Fantastic to cook on. Easy to set up and pack up. The height of the grill easy to change. Love it.

After purchasing the S/steel bbq I’ve noticed serveral other brands that are exactly the same but have a different brandingThose brands were at least 30 -50 % cheaperI found this to be very disappointing.
The product works well as a bbq. Unfortunately, the base plate is NOT made from stainless steel and rusted within a week leaving hard to remove marks on my outdoor tiles. Product description indicates that this product can work at home (e.g. on your deck) which in my opinion is not true. If this is important for you then look for other products that come with a stainless steel base.

I've been using this firepit for probably 2 years. It gets used at home and out camping, Its been constantly overloaded and abused and still does the job perfectly. Packs up flat so I can transport it in my dirty gear bag on the spare. I've had 3 mates purchase since using mine at camp

I've used this a few times now, both with charcoal and wood. I've used the charcoal to cook with a camp oven and the grill to cook steak. It works great both ways. Easy to light and keep going. Sets up in about 2 minutes and is easy to clean. It's also quite warm, I've used it in temperatures close to zero and was quite comfortable.
Used over several weekends camping, cooked all kinds of food and even through small logs in for a fire later on. There is a lot of burn marks from heat although the metal has maintained its form. Quick set up and very easy to move around with the floor plate. On the downside adjusting the grill height is a little tricky when in use, but nothing you can't get used to.
