180° Awning

I had been looking at adding this awning to my vehicle for a while, and after my cheap awning had finally got beyond repair, I decided to upgrade.Dealing with Snowys like always was trouble free and professional. The awning came with almost everything i needed, (just needed the specific bolts for my roof rack). how ever there was other included mounting options.set-up & pack-up is simple and a one person operation, i have had no issues with getting it back into the bag as other have experienced (thanks to the Snowys instructional video).Awning is well constructed, and provides plenty of shade, with room to set up my swag (Darche Ridgedome) and a cooker, with still plenty of room to move about.* Looking to add the wall kit at a later date.

Very easy to set up. I'm 160cm tall and was able to set this up and pack away no issues. Install was relatively straight forward, had to get additional bolts for the type of roof racks I had. The extra side wings make such a huge difference to weather protection. We had both rain and shine and so very pleased.

Fantastic, simple to use awnings

Put two of these awnings on my teardrop camper. Easy to install (two people) and so easy to open and pack up with one person. Great shade coverage. Love them.

Fit for purpose
9 January 2022

With a few trips in the heat and rain of a NQ wet season completed, this awning does the job. Setting up and storing is as advertised and no great effort to rope down. It is tough. I had the walls on at about 30 degrees and away from camp when a storm with high winds came through. I thought the awning would be destroyed but when I got back there was no damage at all. It will leak in torrential rain with the walls on, but reserved to half a dozen noticeable drips which is better than a soaked camp when the rain drives in sideways from every angle. No leaks when wall not on and probably to do with the compromise in the zip. To tell you the truth, this was not unexpected and best to buy the wall in my view. Better to have it and not need it etc. Value piece of serious ... MoreWith a few trips in the heat and rain of a NQ wet season completed, this awning does the job. Good but not great
17 September 2021

Pretty easy to set up. Pretty easy to install. Seems sturdy and has the feeling it will last many years. If you have a rhino pioneer platform you'll need to spend another couple of hundred dollars for the right fittings. On an already roughly $900 product plus the walls its a really expensive awening that's not really value for money. Snowys has the best prices and service though. They get full marks

Great awning
8 December 2022

Great awning! It packs up and down easily within 60 seconds, creates great shade and is easy for one person. Had tried kings 2.5 x 2.5m awning and that was a lot of work for little relief compared to this.Still considering buying the walls too, which would take this awning to the next level

Great awning with amazing coverage!

The awning was really easy to mount, looks great on my car and provides an incredible amount of coverage. Beats my old roll-out side awning.

Seems like a good product
25 December 2021

I have only recently purchased this product and it seems like a good product. However, as I have mentioned elsewhere in the wall set review, if you have gone this far it is worth taking the extra step and purchasing the wall set too. It is easy to fit and vastly increases the usefulness and utility of this product, Fitting (to a current model Toyota Fortuner) was the biggest challenge since the Toyota branded roof rack (a Thule product) was fitted in pre-drilled roof rails/ mountings with the holes set 750mm apart. However the Eclipse Awning necessitates the fixing positions to be 1200mm apart - as it specifies that no more than 500mm awning overhang at either end. (The product is just under 2200mm in length.) Thus I had to drill the roof rails to correctly position ... MoreI have only recently purchased this product and it seems like a good product. Thus I had to drill the roof rails to correctly position the roof racks 1200mm apart which means they are no longer in the designated position nominated by Toyota. It did also mean that I had to fit another 3rd roof rack (from another vehicle and which was lower than the Toyota product and not the same model of rack) in order to carry a set of MaxTraxs on the roof since they are just 40mm shorter that the 1200mm distance between the racks. Fitment also required drilling holes through the roof rack bars to mount the very solid angle mounting brackets. Once this was complete the balance of the fitment was reasonably straight forward.

Absolutely great build quality and very stable even in reasonably strong winds.Easy to set up and pack down and not noticeable while driving at all.

Worth every penny
20 November 2022

Got this for our cape york trip and mounted it to our 2010 ranger dual cab. There is a process to be followed regarding weight allowances given that it weighs 18kgs but once mounted you will never look back. We rocked kings roll out awnings for 3 years but this is a game changer. Set up is so easy and effortless only needing one person. Once set up there's heaps of shade and it is very reassuring in very windy conditions. Darche did an amazing job with the quality of the build and I think it's worth the price tag. Defs recommend and would buy again.
