The awning itself is amazing but the leaking bag makes it an absolute joke for the price. I haven't had any issues packing it away as many reviews seem to suggest. It's a firm fit in the bag but not difficult by any means. The biggest issue is every time there is a tiny bit of rain the bag leaks and the awning gets wet inside the bag so you need to constantly watch it and dry it out to avoid mould. Never had to do that with my $120 Kings awning...Shop around and go for another 270 awning, there are plenty more on the market!

I'm glad I bought this awning. The quality in the build and finish is well worth the investment. Too easy to set up and pack down. A tip is don't roll the canvass but fold it flat it will fit better in the bag. A tip for DARCHE is to put a flap over the zip or Velcro flap to stop the water getting in through the zip. My current solution is the awning comes on a plastic bag inside the box. The end fits over the front, just out along top then put the bag over. Seems to work for now. Canvass is keeping dry. The extra area this gives on my car and at the rear over my doors where i cook and prepare food fully under cover. Fantastic bit of kit.

Awesome bit of kit and was a great addition to my vehicle for weekend getaways. Easy to set up and pack away. Quality construction. I used the awning with the Darche retreat which was great because I brought my dog with me
The bag leaks! The fix Darche sent out isn’t good enough. Their excuse for the bag not being water tight is so it’s easy to change the bag if you happen to damage it? What a croc of S&!T!! What happened to Darche? Always had great products like my other 2.5x 2.5 awning, it’s got a water proof bag, but now expect me to open & dry the awning Every time it rains or I wash the car. Not good enough Darche, I want a bag that is water proof! Why can’t you allow me to bring the awning to a canvas manufacturer to make a water proof bag & you pay for it??
Was better than I expected. Quality of materials and build quality excellent. On first trip out it survived almost gale force winds down the coast. Admittedly I had every single rope pegged and had to retention multiple times but it would of been more dangerous to try and fold it up on my own. Oh, and also positioned the kluger in front of the camper to help dampen the wind. I reckon, pegged down all round you could leave it up in 50km winds. Can't wait till the side wall kids arrive - definitely buying those.
Great awning, considered many around the $799-899 mark but the jump in quality for an extra $300 was a must have and Darche was one of the few awnings that amazing reviews everywhere you look.1 stupidly annoying thing that i found out when i trying to install it, didnt come with a set of channel bolts, seriously! dont forget to order your channel bolt set when you order yours from Tent World, they stock the channel bolt set too.

I purchased a darche 270 awning a number of years ago - the design of the awning is great, easy to use and covers a large area.Unfortunately the awning bag leaks when it rains - anything more than a light shower causes the awning to become wet which results in mould growing.it the bag did not leak this would be a 5 out of 5.the leaking bag is not unique to Darche. I owned a 270 supapeg previously and the bag on that also leaked in rain.
According to my (digital) bathroom scales, this awning with 6 M8 bolts in the slots weighs 22.2kg. The three included mounting brackets weigh (for 3) 3.6kg So that's a total of 25.8kg installed! However if you are fixing this awning to a roof tray with longitudinal slats then its best to use the Darche long brackets, (or other brackets with similar reach) to spread the load. These will cost you around a further $160, and which weigh (for 3) 4.8kg bringing the awning to 27kg installed!! If I'd known this before purchasing, I would have bought a different awning and saved money. See photos of installation with long brackets and a short (as supplied) bracket positioned next to the (additional purchase) long brackets. The awning itself seems good. But I think the ...
