I have to confess to being a big fan of David Beckham fragrances. I've tried most of them and every one offers exceptional value. This is one of my favourites. It has a beautiful woody masculine fragrance that is not overpowering. It's less heavy than "Intimately", which I find a little on the musky side, but it's richer than the very citrus based "Beyond". It's presented in a lovely round glass bottle with importantly in my opinion an atomiser button. This makes it so much easier to have a squirt when getting ready! You really can't go wrong with this. The bottle looks good and as with all David Beckham fragrances, it smells significantly more expensive that its actual price. I tend to find celebrity-endorsed or branded Eau de Toilettes disappointing, but I was hoping that having read the description of this David Beckham Classic, I could be pleasantly surprised. Sadly, the surprise for me, was that this Classic smells more Vintage! My go to fragrance is Le Labo Bergamote 22, which is (as you would expect with the name) very citrusy and fresh, with a hint of spice and wood. I was hoping that the David Beckham Classic, described by the manufacturer as being citrus with amber, to be along the same lines Le Labo, but sadly it is not. I struggled to detect any citrus smell, instead, it is an overpowering and heavy woody smell, which I personally thought had a strong cypress fragrance. I'm not one for describing Eau de toilette as if I'm reviewing a fine wine. For a start, like our tastes buds, our olfactory senses are as unique as our individual body chemistry. However, I always like to compare what I can detect with the tasting notes or, in this case, fragrance notes. Blimey, it's a head scratcher. To be bluntly honest, I can't detect any of the 'woodyness, gin and tonic' or even 'ambermax' in this at all, let alone any hint of nutmeg. On opening, I'm getting a blast of Acqua di Gio which (very) quickly turns to Eau d'Issey and pretty much stays that way. It's a real concoction of pineapple, apple and perhaps a hint of fresh mint for me. Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet - now there's a real G&T-style fragrance for you! Nevertheless, I really enjoy ... Nevertheless, I really enjoy fruity, citrus fragrances, even if you're hard pushed to find one with enough 'oomph' to last the whole working day. Although this fragrance has been around for about 10 years, it has a distinctly 90s vibe to it (IMHO) but there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. I love seeking out and wearing fragrances that were a blast from the past but David Beckham's were never on my radar; Being a 40-something rugby-preferring Scot may have something to do with that.... This is a very pleasant fragrance though - subtle and definitely office-safe. It's more suited to those aged over, say, 35 but for a day-to-day, non-offensive scent or, dare I say it, a first date where you don't want to make too much of a statement, it's a safe bet. If anyone asks what I'm wearing, it might be 'Stoater' by Archie Gemmill ! ;-)

I've just read other reviews where people state they paid 30 for 100ml I only paid 14 for this. If I'd have paid the former, I'd be more critical but 14 is a very good price for what is a lovely fresh scent. The smell isn't super piercing. Whether anyone around you (in an office, for example) would even notice it on you is debatable. Compared to another Eau De Parfum I have (Hugo Boss Bottled), this is nowhere near as strong. With Boss, I can spray just once and it will linger the entire day (if anything, that one is a bit too strong). I don't think anyone could dislike this scent, as it's quite gentle and light. The spray dispenser doesn't distribute very widely, but you can spray more closely without wasting anything hitting the air. 100ml should go a long way, ... The bottle and packaging are simple but smart. For the cost, it's definitely worth a try.
Not one for celebrity fragrances as a rule nor a David Beckham fan but my husband said he found this fragrance surprisingly nice although it did not last very long. I sprayed some on my arm and found in to be a pleasant smell reminded me of a bit of Yves Saint Laurent Kouros on first smell. It is a classic woody, citrusy type of smell, as a gin drinker I don't know where they get the gin and tonic notes listed in the description but everyone's sense of smell is different so someone might pick up that note. I found this fragrance to not be too strong and it fades to quite a subtle hint of a fragrance which is more for a daytime in my opinion although you may need to have a re spray a couple of times in the day to keep the hint of fragrance. If you want a light classic fragrance for your man you won't go far wrong with this for a daytime. I think it is a bit overpriced ( 44.99 at time of review) for a fragrance that doesn't seem to last a hugely long time but then when you compare it to some of the other men's fragrances around I suppose it is a pretty average price.
The David Beckham Collection Amber Breeze has a nicer, stronger smell than I initially expected from a celebrity fragrance and is now my goto fragrance. The box that the fragrance comes in looks stylish and premium, and would make for a nice gift. Though I would say the bottle inside doesn't really seem to match that same premium aesthetic, being a rather standard, simple bottle. I'm not bothered by that, but don't expect highly sculpted bottles here like you get with other premium brands. The scent itself is actually really appealing. It has a woodland smell that is quite different to the usual stronger smells that I use. The smell is quite strong for the first few minutes, but noticeably weakens shortly after, though lingers up close, which some may be ... I really like the smell from this and find myself using it even when not going anywhere! Overall, at 35 at time of review, for a large 100ml bottle, this seems well placed against more mid-top of the range Eau De Toilettes/Parfums.
This bottle arrives in a simple, but elegant looking box, sealed in a clear plastic wrapper. The bottle itself is again a simple, but very clean design, as is the single label that adorns it. Whilst some might find the bottle design a bit plane or boring, I have to say I really appreciated it's simpleness and think it has a minimalistic elegance to it. The bottle holds 100ml (3.3 fl. oz) of amber coloured Eau De Parfum. The spray gives a nice dispersal, but is a tad on the wide side. Made by Coty, in Spain, the ingredients are said to include: Alcohol Denat., Aqua/Water/Eau, Parfum/Fragrance, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Linalool, Coumarin, Limonene, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Geraniol, Alcohol, Tris(Tetramethylhydroxypiperidinol) Citrate, Citral, Citronellol, Red 4 ... I'm not very good at describing smells beyond the basics, so I will just say this has a slightly sweet, woody smell to it. At first I thought it was ok', but it has grown on me over the few weeks I have been using it, to one I now like. My gf on the other hand has liked it from the start. In conclusion, this is the first David Beckham fragrance I have tried, and I must admit it's better than I thought it would be. Price wise, it might not be the cheapest, but it seems reasonable for a celebrity endorsed Eau De Parfum. Smell is always going to be subjective, so it's hard to fully recommend a product like this to others, however I liked it and I would certainly recommend at least trying it. ~ MyPerfumeShop asked me to review this product and to give my honest opinion about it. That's what I have set out to do, so I hope you found it helpful. ~
This is great smelling aftershave or "eau de parfum" as it's labelled. This essentially means that it's not a fully blown perfume, but is the next step down and stronger than an eau de toilette or similar. This certainly has a nice manly scent to it, with strong woody, amber tones. It mentioned citrus scents on the box, but these are less obvious in my opinion. The scent goes on really strong, but you have to get closer to smell it after a few minutes (not an issue if it's the right person you want to smell it). I do really like this, and so does my wife. I'll definitely continue using this when the mood is for a more amber, woody scent. I suspect that this has replaced the "refined woods" scent in the Beckham range. Definitely recommended and a great scent for any ... MoreThis is great smelling aftershave or "eau de parfum" as it's labelled. This is the first time I purchased a David Beckham Eau de parfum and it will certainly be the last. I was unsure about buying but read the reviews and gave it a go... and wish I hadn't and I wasted a gift voucher on this I usually buy a more expensive Eau de parfum - savauge by Dior and I will be sticking to that from now onwards. The Bechkam cologne has a nice colour and scent but that is as far as it goes, for a eau de parfum it's longevity was poor. I have had longer lasting eau de toillette colognes than this!! This cologne scent lasted less than 1 hour and that's being generous with the time scale, and before you say anything, yes I did put plenty on and on some days you couldn't smell it after a few minutes. If I could give half a star or no stars I would. ... MoreThis is the first time I purchased a David Beckham Eau de parfum and it will certainly be the last. This cologne scent lasted less than 1 hour and that's being generous with the time scale, and before you say anything, yes I did put plenty on and on some days you couldn't smell it after a few minutes. If I could give half a star or no stars I would. Today I pretty much drowned myself in it and after a short time you couldn't tell I had sprayed it on. Even though this was a lot cheaper at around 30 ish it certainly wasn't worth it- 10 would have been a better price, again if I could give this less than 1 star I would have. If you are looking for a long lasting Eau de parfum then don't buy this, purchase a higher end cologne, it may be more expensive but at least it will last and you will get your money's worth. I did expect better from this and I guess you get what you pay for. I would be ashamed to put my name to this Eau de parfum.
Well, all I can say is save your money. This eau de toilette is extremely weak and the scent only lasts about five minutes if you are lucky. When I received it, I did a couple of squirts to get the spray going. It dispensed about four spritzes, and I could barely smell the fragrance. I then sprayed it onto my neck and although I could smell it, about two minutes later there was absolutely no smell at all. Incredibly disappointing and will not be recommending it at all, and would even not attempt to try any other fragrances in the line. I actually could have guessed what the quality was going to be like just by looking at the ingredients. Any fragrance that has water as it's second ingredient, really isn't going to be up to much. Save your pennies and get a proper brand.
