Calvin Klein Eternity Set 2 Pieces

The Calvin Klein Eternity cologne was very popular back in the days. I’m actually surprised they came up with a parfum. I like the fragrance/aroma which reminds me of vanilla however, it is a mixture of vanilla and rum. I actually prefer a Parfum over eau de toilette because it is more potent in the way that it lasts longer on your body. I used the Parfum for three days straight in the mornings for work and it does stay on your skin for quite a while. My first initial thought when I sprayed it on was, “reminds me of amber” but I soon realized I didn’t know if amber was a scent. Well, turns out that amber is sensual, warm, and exotic. I was a bit aware of the scent because it’s not my usual scent as I wear more of a citrus/fruity scents and more oil based fragrances. I like that this parfum doesn’t have a strong alcohol scent which adds to the classy feeling it gives. It does have more of a distinctive scent which does set it apart from all other colognes (parfums). While I appreciate the scent, it’s not really something I would wear daily - it seems to me that this should be more of “a night out” or “special occasion” Parfum. The Calvin Klein Eternity Parfum is definitely something you would like to keep in your fragrance collection. Pretty much every previous release has either been so so, bad, or “GOOD FOR AN ETERNITY.” I was sent this sample of Eternity Parfum from Influenster as a sample to test and I can say this is probably the best Eternity Fragrance I have tried. It’s nice but it seems like something I have smelled before. It doesn’t project heavily it’s more of an intimate scent that gets very close to the skin after about 10-15 minutes. It does last about 7-8 hours on the skin but it’s not going to get you noticed unless you overspray. Again this is good but with all of the other similar fragrances out there like most wanted, Club black, noir extreme, and so on this doesn’t really stand out as one to buy above others. But I have to give it to CK they made me actually want to buy an eternity for my collection.

The notes and scent are nothing like the original and lacks the citrus notes. I am not sure why they kept the same name. The new parfum is more for Fall and Winter with strong notes of vanilla, lavender, rum (barely noticeable and fades), woody notes and is sweet. The vanilla is prominent right from first spray along with a hint of floral and booze. The rum dies down though where it becomes more powdery, floral, woody and soft. The vanilla stays throughout and is not overpowering. It definitely can be enjoyed as a unisex in my opinion. It doesn't project strong and lasted 5 to 6 hours on my skin. You can fix this simply by overspraying to your liking though. I did get 2 compliments from women while wearing it. The sillage is average along with longevity and definitely not strong, but like I said just spray more. It is pleasant and nothing new and will make a good cold weather addition to your collection if you like vanilla, powdery, lavender and sweet. I did get whiffs on and off throught the day or in the air around me and liked the vanilla.

The folks over at Paco Rabanne have done a great job of keeping the brand relevant with the youth market, but have not shown much interest, so far, with the notyouth market, which of course includes me, and partly explains why the lack of interest is pretty much mutual. As is so often the case with these big designer launches, it took a team of big name perfumers Loc Dong, Anne Flipo and Dominique Ropion to put it together. Its advertised as a fresh oriental and as a a unique fusion between a sensual salted vanilla accord and refreshing floral notes,2 and thats all reasonably accurate. Olympa starts with a very juicy, very green citrus overlaid with a decent lashing of ginger. It announces its fresh orientation right out of the gate, with vague allusions to Glade and LEau dIssey, but its otherwise a nice enough start. It sweetens up as the top notes fade, with candied but watery floral notes and then creamy vanilla over a woody musk with salty solar undertones. It has a summery, almostbeachy feel neither caramel popcorn nor coconut are listed in the notes, but there are faint strains of either or both, and theres just enough powder to lend a velvety finish to the far dry down. Verdict Its just fine. Its reasonably wearable and reasonably pleasant if applied in moderation despite the fresh and watery notes, it is not really a sheer scent. Not surprisingly, I found it both too sweet and too synthetically fresh for my taste, and in general, it called up modern youth on spring break more than Cleopatra. Still, not bad, and a far cry better than Invictus. If you want something along the same lines, but maybe a little more sophisticated, you might try Calvin Klein Reveal. If you want more fruit and less fresh, you might try Thierry Mugler Womanity. Paco Rabanne Olympa is available in 30, 50 and 80 ml Eau de Parfum and in matching body products. I think there was originally an Extrait as well, but perhaps it is already sold out The notes include mandarin, ginger lily, aquatic accord, jasmine, vanilla, cashmere wood, sandalwood and ambergris.
