The cut of this blazer is perfection. It’s professional, yet a tiny bit edgy and modern, and can even be sexy if dressed up properly (think: bodysuit with patent leather leggings and this jacket thrown over) but the sleeves are so insufferably short, I can’t tell if it’s a major design flaw or purposeful. I ended up keeping the blazer and just rolling the sleeves, but if you’re looking for a true long sleeve this is not for you. The sleeves on this run 4 inches above the wrist. I don’t understand it! Keeping it anyway because the fit is just divine.

Purchased this blazer and the Ettienne flared pants to create my suit! Unsure of size, I used the sizing chart and subsequent questions and completely nailed the right size in both the blazer and pants. I’m 5’ 6”, 120 lb. athletic build, 54 yo and ordered size 6 for pants and size 4 for blazer. The pants arrive ready to be hemmed unless you’re 7’ tall! 😄 Had mine hemmed to a medium height boot 👢 and VOILA! An amount of flare was hemmed away in the leg, but still had a nice amount. The quality and weight of wool was gorgeous and exactly what I was seeking. In LOVE!

This review is for both the blazer and pants.I'm 5'6" and the fact that the "how tall are you?" question accompanying the review only goes up to 5'6" says it all. These pants looked like they shrank in the dryer--too short to be an ankle pant but not quite a capri. Meanwhile, the blazer reached mid-thigh. It gave the impression that I was wearing my father's blazer and teenage sister's pants. Additionally, the pants fit great in the waist but are clearly not meant for people who do squats.I'm not sure there's a person alive with the right proportions for the pants and blazer together. Just bizarre.

Although it took a couple of tries for me to get the sizing correct...beautiful fit! Fabric is quality and color is sublime. Going to wear it for a very special occasion but could wear for an afternoon lunch as well. So thrilled with the comfort and contemporary but classic look of this suit.Normally wear size 8P. Theory works well for short waisted bodies. Ordered 10 in jacket as it ran small and an 8 in the pant in Wisteria. Thinking about getting the dress that matches
I ordered the Clay color and absolutely loved it. The length of the sleeves and blazer was perfect. It nipped at the waist beautifully and looked great open or buttoned. The problem is that it was too tight across the back. I can't lift my arms without feeling it pull across the back and fear that I may rip it. For that, I have to return it and unfortunately, they don't have it in the next size up, which would be an 8. I'm so bummed because this is the first one that I have found that was affordable and really looked great on me.
I was pretty excited about this purchase, because I loved the orchid color, the good price, and the item as a transitional piece. But the slightly nipped waist and flared jacket looks silly -- too formal for jeans and just not flattering. It also emphasizes the hips and butt, and I'm not heavy, but I don't care for that look. It's also too long. If I could have it altered by removing 1.5 inches and making it a more straight silhouette, it would be perfect but it's not worth the expense, of course. I hope to return it.
I was surprised that the jacket and skirt that I purchased were so short, and could not be altered, to be let down in length, the way expensive Men's suits can be tailored. My tailor was surprised that the construction limited tailoring, such as letting the sleeves of the blazer down, on an expensive piece. The material was nice wool, lightweight enough for year-round use. The slacks, that I purchased to go with the suit were long enough since I could specify the inseam, but they are made for someone who is built like a man, with no hips, or thighs, so the slacks were too loose in the waist and too tight in the hips & thighs. Everything had to be returned.
In short,1. The blazer is made for tall people, so if you’re 5’4 or shorter it will look horrid on you.2. The blazer is cut differently from how it’s represented in the photos. It has an ugly angle to the front that’s much steeper than it appears in the photos, and the blazer collar is too thick and makes you feel like you’ve just put on a $465 waitress uniform, albeit at a high end restaurant.3. The blazer arrived by mail with someone’s hair on it (gross, especially during Covid) and dust marks at the bottom of the black blazer that did not come off, and a stress mark at the back. Not impressed, Theory. Do better.
This jacket is tailored very well and feels like a power-suit piece. I'm on the curvy side and I like how this blazer comes in at the waist to create an hourglass shape for my body. I also like that the jacket is a little longer, most stop at my hips and make me look shorter but the additional length add to the hourglass shape. I can wear it to meetings, or dressing up outfits for a night out. I'm typically a size 6, sometimes 8, and ordered a size 8.
This is my 2nd Étienne blazer, I have several Theory blazers. I love the suit, cut and color.Extremely disappointed as the sleeve on the granite blue was 1 inch shorter.I tried several times calling, during normal hours, customer service but after extremely long hold, your system cuts off saying “no one is available to take the call.”I am used to your superb service but missed the boat this time. I will be returning this blazer sadly.
