The product has held up very well with the sun beating down on it day after day. It does the job, but I wish the lines were further apart. I use it at our lake cabin and really load it up with heavy wet towels from time to time. The lines stretch out with weight, but not enough to cause a serious issue. The biggest draw back for me is that the lines are so close together…about 4 inches between them. I mostly end up using two of the four lines for that reason. Items don’t get completely dry because they are sandwiched together so closely. That is the only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5.

We get a lot of wet weather in Brisbane so we decided to pop this up in our double garage. Cannot believe I didn’t buy this sooner! Good sturdy line and looks nice and tidy on my garage wall.

We bought this product ~18 months ago; lines’ plastic coverage broke after 12 months from purchase, lines are not under warranty and can’t be replaced, so basically you purchase a premium product that is no longer functional after 12-18 months of use. Very disappointing.

Had this up for over 5 years now and the plastic coating on the lines have just started to crack which means that they no longer retract. It is in full West Australian sunshine when it's extended which is probably the reason. I've no issues with it and am happy that it's lasted this long. I'll happily replace it with the same model.
Think this product 3 or 4 years old …The plastic on the lines is now totally munted. Guess it can’t take NZ sun? .See it has a 15 year warranty - presume they will replace ?
The polymer line had 2 year warranty and rest of the box 8 years. Line cracked after 2y9m so would not retract. Tried to get a response how to access for repair from Daytek but zip ... nil ... had to drill out pop rivets in order to replace line. No screws. This unit is not designed for user repair so why warrant for 8 years if the line fails within 3. The line was retracted whenever not in use and only receives sun directly for 4 months of the year. Worked okay otherwise.
Replaced a very old line with this one while our house was tenanted, when we moved back in 18 months later one line broken, plastic bits broken away due to UV effect on plastic, put it down to rough tenant. Returned to Bunnings and they happily replaced it so I was very happy. 8 months later the replacement line has one line that no longer retracts and one of the plastic side covers keeps falling off as the plastic clips don't hold it in place any more and so does the handle. Will return this one to Bunnings, sorry about blaming the tenant, this product just doesn't seem to be up to an acceptable standard.
Like everyone here the cords deteriorated after a few years. It's not designed to be restrung but is possible. Drill the rivets, then manually spool out each line, stick a screwdriver in the wheel to keep it in place and rethread. Repeat for all 5 spools then reassemble and re-rivet. $30 for new cord, better than buying a whole new assembly.
I wish I had read reviews on Daytek's other retractable lines before I bought this, so this review is doing you all a favour. The plastic coating on the lines breaks down very quickly and cracks along the whole length, despite us rolling it in to protect it from UV every time we use it. Then the cracks mean you can't roll it back up. And the lines can't be repaired or replaced so you are very quickly left with a sub par product. Within two years and a receipt daytek will replace the unit but we are just over this time frame so have to buy a new one ourselves. You don't expect to replace your clothesline every two years but here we are.
Our builder supplied one of these when our house was completed. After about a year, the coating on one of the lines cracked and we couldn't retract it. We had it replaced under warranty and low and behold the same thing happened with the second one. We could also replace this under warranty if we wanted but I don't want to have to do this every year so we will be trying another brand in future.
