ProsI haven't read any Deadpool comics, but I know a bit about him from some clips and also the Wolverine movie. I really found this game quite enjoyable - mainly due to the humour of the main character, and also because he knows he's in a game and has fun with it. Now I really want to see more of the character. The voice acting is done well too. I also liked how the game mixed it up with throwback to old games, and a few unique perspectives. I would have liked to see more of that though. The action is also good, with just enough variety to keep it interesting. As you get new weapons and combos and abilities, it keeps things fresh, since the same old button mashing with the same weapons could have gotten repetitive fast.ConsThe game feels too short. Just as you start building up your abilities and upgrades, the game ends. I still had a whole bunch of upgrades I wanted to get, but had no chance. Also, there isn't much replay value, since after you finish the game you can only do a few challenges, which is basically just repeats of the same levels you played but with waves of clones to defeat.OverallIf you want a good action game and don't mind crude humour and a character that talks back to you, then this is a great game. Might be just worth a rental though because you could probably beat it over a weekend.

An over the top game for a way over the top character. Deadpool the movie was funny beyond words and generally video games made to parody movies usually suck! I just bought this game and played it for the first time last night. First, it is an extremely entertaining game. Second, the game play isn't fantastic. Basically, the design team nailed the writing and voice acting and fell a bit short in the game design and programming. Allow me to explain. This game is everything a Deadpool game should be: irreverent, hilarious, absurd, and extremely enjoyable. This is definitely the funniest game I have ever played. In fact, this game had me laughing so hard that I had to pause the game several times. The game fully captured the spirit of Deadpool. The game play is basically running around and killing everything you see. The game play style is similar to the God of War games, essentially button mashing out attacks and combos. Like I said, you have guns, but they aren't terribly useful, even when upgrades are purchased. They are hard to aim, don't pack much of a punch (except on certain enemies), and are widely ineffective. There is a "lock-on" targeting system, which has been hit and miss. Sometimes it locks and targets beautifully and other times it doesn't. Also, when I put it in the first time there were no upgrades to download, like most games, meaning there are no patches to fix any bugs. As such there were a few glitches; nothing serious, b.

I think I should begin this review by saying I wasn't a fan of Deadpool before I played this game. It wasn't because I didn't like the character, but simply because I hadn't been significantly exposed to him before this game. Now on to the review:I purchased this game for my girlfriend who is a big Deadpool fan, and we played through the game together. I went in assuming that this was going to be a terrible licensed effort that would have a few cool set pieces but overall be a waste of time. I was completely wrong. This game roped me in from the very beginning. The signature Deadpool humor is spot-on and the voice acting is superb. If you are a Deadpool/Marvel Universe fan, then this game is a no-brainer, especially at the current price of $20.If you are like me and aren't as well-versed in the Marvel Universe and Deadpool lore, there is still a lot to enjoy in this game. Every character in this game has a hilarious introduction to get you caught up on who they are and how they are involved in the story. Much of the story and humor translates well to someone who has never set foot in the Mavel Universe, and I only had to ask my girlfriend once to fill me in on some back-story that was left out.Game play is where the game starts to suffer. Playing as Deadpool is a lot of fun. He mixes guns, swordplay, and hand-to-hand combat in a satisfying way. Unfortunately, there aren't many enemies who allow you to take full advantage of your various abilities, and many of the enemies are.
If you go into Deadpool expecting this to be the god of war killer or the next arkham city you may be disappointed but if your looking for a silly game that pretty much parody's those I mentioned and a few others then this is the game for you. This is probably the most hilarious (and one of the few funny games) ever since Earthworm Jim on the snes. Unlike that game though I would recommend not playing this in front of your kids if you have them. The game while funny is very crude, violent, and there are sexual jokes but thats just how Deadpool is though as a character. The Voice acting in the game is amazing its probably the closet your gonna get to the real deadpool movie (Bryan reynolds is not the real deadpool more of a normal character). If you have played Uncharted the voice of Deadpool may sound familer as hes played by the same guy who voiced Nathan Drake from that game.As for the gameplay like I said before this isn't the god of war or arkham city killer. It kinda plays like a dumbed down version of god of war with arkham style combos, however with it being dumbed down it kinda feels more like a old school beat em up (double dragon, streets of rage) with the batman dodge mechanic then anything. There are also gun fights in the game as well which feel like a typical 3rd person shooter nothing special other than the crazy one liners but it does its job. As for the length of the game it really depends on what you start on if you start on easy you will probably have the g.
Here's the thing about this game. It is a generic action game. The combat is just as shallow as God of War or any other action game. The level design and game progression are totally obligatory as if the developers themselves where transcribing Level Design for Dummies. All that is fine. The thing that brings the design above generic is the heart. I care a lot about how much heart goes into a game. High Moon spent time and money on things that are frivolous. Now, that's not necessarily a good thing mind you; but, I become a good thing when the frivolous expenditures are for the player's sake. Models are created for throwaway gags, animations are made, sounds are fabricated, and voice work had to be done all for the sake of entertaining us, the players; all things ... MoreHere's the thing about this game. So in this sense, the design of the game itself is elevated above average. No here's the thing about Deadpool. I was hesitant to play this game because I felt that it would be a really long version of something. Have you seen The Simpsons Movie or Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie? If so, I believe you can relate to me looking at our watches during the film thinking, "I still have that much more to go?" That's what I was afraid of. While Deadpool flirts dangerously close to that (and would definitely get that it very well may for others), I finished Deadpool without feeling that sense of fatigue. With that concern out of.
Think of this product as a form of entertainment first and a video game second. The game is great for Deadpool fans, and hopefully, it will make more Deadpool fans, but it's not great for game fans. It feels more like a complete interactive comic book story arc.As a game, it's full of lackluster, been-there-done-that, hack-and-slash gaming elements. It is very short, but very enjoyable. It has plenty of laugh-out-loud-moments, and I was genuinely surprised at how long of a leash was given to them by Marvel. This game does justice to the character. The gameplay is pretty solid and very polished; they did a good job at debugging as there are very few glitches in the game. I never got stuck on a corner or trapped in an area where I had to reload. It's rare that you'll see a bad guy falling through a wall or have clipping issues. However, this game's strength is in the writing, imagery, and sound. The dialogue between the voices in Deadpool's head is great. The artwork with Deadpool riding a flying tiger through a rainbow is epic. The Disco-funk-ish Deadpool theme song and the Cable song are fantastic.I was definitely entertained by this game, so why did I give this 4 stars? First, the game is a little too short. Second, they've included most of Deadpool's alternate costumes in the game, but you can't use them in the campaign. Lastly, there are characters from Deadpool lore that are missing such as Weasel, Bob: Agent of Hydra, Headpool, and the Deadpool Corps. Grant.
Absolutely great game! I had such a fun time playing Deadpool, the only thing I wish was different is that it did not end so quickly. Although it is my own fault because I could not put down this game. I had only recently heard about this game from a friend and decided I would give it a try. I am always skeptical about "superhero" games because they are rarely a lot of fun, but this game is the exception. Everybody loves "The Merc With the Mouth" and this game proves why. With hilarious comments from the hero, and signature breaking of the fourth wall, this game constantly made me laugh so hard I almost spit my drink. Abilities are a lot of fun to play with, and of course.... BLOOD! Especially after upgrading the bleed effect on the weapons. After beating it on normal I will definitely be going back to play on hard, to hopefully make it last just a bit longer. To anyone who is looking for a fun game as well as some great comedic entertainment, I would HIGHLY recommend this game.
After seeing the Deadpool films and also seeing a slight resurgence of the game that came out in 2013 I was interested in playing the game for myself. so I bought it online at CEX and my copy came a few days later in great condition.First off the game is on the pricey side as it is a bit rare because of licensing issues but if you're a Deadpool or marvel fan I would recommend getting it as it is a decent game. The Deadpool game is a great bloody hack and slash with a lot of great features to it like the comedy, cameos, and the gameplay. I did enjoy playing the mainline story and am planning to get close to completing it 100% and this game is a great addition to my Xbox 360 collection.
With the release of “Deadpool and Wolverine” renewing every Marvel fan’s interest in the franchise, I was lucky enough to get my hands on Deadpool’s most recent video game outing, simply titled “Deadpool”.The game has been delisted from digital stores in 2017, so coming across a physical copy of the game has become increasingly difficult and even expensive.Luckily, CEX has provided a fantastic service with their affordable pricing, fast delivery and excellent customer experience. Sure, the game is priced at £80 - but that is far more reasonable than those selling the game elsewhere for £200 plus! If you’re reading this guys, thank you so much!As for the game itself, which is a PS4 port (released 2015) of a PS3 game (released 2013), I have a little bit more mixed feelings about.Deadpool follows The Last Of Us Remastered and Tomb Raider Definitive Edition in a long line of PS4 ports, but it’s only Deadpool that feels firmly rooted in the PS3 era, with some pretty shallow gameplay, a nonsensical story and humour that verges on cringe. That being said, the game looks nice enough and is brilliantly voice acted, especially by Nolan North of Uncharted fame.In terms of performance, I suffered none - except some momentary stutters every 45 seconds or so. This was a little annoying after some time, but it was of no consequence to the game overall. This disc and packaging were also in great condition, so thank you to CEX for providing a brilliant copy to add to my collection.I would absolutely recommend Deadpool for gamers who just want a laid back and mildly amusing experience. Despite my criticisms, the game is fine and is entertaining enough. It was a fun game to platinum and I’m glad to have finally experienced it, even if it was 9 years too late.
