I remember Del Monte Pineapple Chunks from when I was little. I’ve moved on to fresh pineapple for years now but recently tried these Del Monte Pineapple chunks out again and they are good but I couldn’t believe how sweet they are!! They are in 100% natural juice (no sugar added) but boy do they taste like pure sugar!!! So definitely not like the fresh cut pineapple you get at the store! Again, not bad just not the same and a little too sweet for my liking!

There are some difference from other Pineapple products I have eaten. This product is a Product that comes from KENYA. The texture seems quite a little hard to chew compared to other pineapple products from other countries like Philippines or Thailand that has soft texture and not hard to chew. The color of the pineapple from Kenya is quite pale not yellow or goldent yellow from the two Asian countries. It is not sweet compared to the pineapple from the two Asian countries. I believe because a syrup mixture was in the Kenya pineapple while it is sweet when a 100% pineapple was used by the two Asian countries. The % pineapple juice sustained the natural sweetness

After your parents let you open a few presents, your mom starts to prepare for the big dinner. She puts that giant ham in the dollar store roaring pan and then covers it in some sauce she saw in a better homes and garden magazine while standing in the less than desirable lines at the supermarket and then makes a colorful pattern of fruit that has more preservatives than you can imagine but, oh! Those “cherries” and these pineapples that ring the ham for Christmas dinner are amazing. Just done eat a flipping clove. Fun for the family but not for you!

The smaller space allows for more of the caramelized goodness to soak through the cake with the pineapple thoroughly encased when you turn that pan over. I prefer using pineapple in 100% juice because it maintains it's natural flavor without getting watered down or over sweetened. Additionally, since the pineapple has to be patted dry to make the cake, the juice can be separated and used for another dish or marinade. For small desserts that are on the go this one is definitely recommended - a can of chunk pineapple with a little bit of juice is a yes for me . It tastes good and not artificial flavoring, just a real pineapple in the can. Always buy it in bulk as they are very affordable, best for baking in any pineapple pastry or just for simply a dessert. Love that they are in an easy open can that is so convenient to open. For the price that is really affordable, what more you can ask for. You can get pineapple even if it is off season! Highly recommend it.

I use del monte pineapple slices and crushed pineapple when I’m making pineapple upside down cake. Comes out perfect every time! I also have grandkids who love pineapple. I purchase cans instead of fresh because of cost and I want to make sure there good every time we use them. Del Monte fits that bill! Each can cones with an easy pull tab on top for getting in the can. They are packaged with their own 100% juice! 2 slices equals a serving and is just 60 calories. I will continue to purchase Del Monte in my household. Price point is good and it can be found at all grocery stores.

Low quality

I purchased this product thinking by the name! It was Deluxe!! Well, NO! The pineapple chunks still had the core on them. So I opened another can and it was the same!Have trusted Del Monte for years, but I guess your company is not adhering to good quality control.Thanks, but no thanks. I can purchase a better product at a more reasonable price.So disappointed.

Unsweet and Not Tender!

I shop at Walmart and usually buy 24 cans of Great Value brand Pineapple chunks since they are 40 cents cheaper per can. Well, recently, they were out of Great Value brand so I resorted to buying Del Monte brand which I used to buy until I couldn't find it. I bought 6 cans and usually eat a can daily... I was VERY disappointed to find: 1)Your can was more full of juice than Pineapple.2)The juice was barely sweet.3)The Pineapple chunks were equally as unsweetened as the juice.4) The chunks were hard, almost as if they were cut from the center core of the Pineapple.5) I tried a 2nd can from the 6 I bought; no difference in any area.I am returning the 4 cans I have left to Walmart tomorrow and never taking a chance again. Too bad, I used to praise Del Monte...
