24" touchscreen monitor P2424HT
9 August 2024LMF

originally posted on dell.com

Purchased just under a month ago and use for work. This is a massive monitor from my previous one. Takes up a lot of space on desk, but so nice to be able to see what's on screen. I have a hand injury so touchscreen is fantastic. Takes a bit to get used to how hard to "touch", but haven't had to use my mouse much since using this. The only thing that I have had to remember is when I reposition screen so that it is almost laying flat on desk(which I love) is that the on/off button on back right side gets hit and turns off.

Can not be rotated to portrait mode / menu Chinese

I wanted a secondary touch screen monitor to use vertically (portrait). This was advertised as rotation +/-90% with "pivot (rotation), swivel, tilt"But the stand would not allow 90 degree rotation. Even when you take it apart, it is too short to support the screen in portrait mode. Also the menu appears to be stuck in Chinese and as I don't read Chinese I can't get it to English.Display is good ...but DO NOT buy this if you want a vertical monitior

The Dell P2424HT is a monitor whose arm allows the to “kneel” to the desk and has great features. The IPS (In-plane switching) display brings a lower contrast and wider viewing angles than the a VA (Vertical alignment) or TN (Twisted nematic) panel. The display is also thin, feels premium and is visually pleasing to look at. The AC Adapter is built-in, there is no external charger. The monitor can also be used as dock replacement, it helps with having a clutter free setup, such as in a work or home environment. During the time of testing the product, all the ports available on the monitor has shown no issues. The use of the VESA mounting at the back of the display makes it easy to hook it up to a monitor arm.

Functions as expected, but with some comments.

The monitor works as expected, including the touch capability. It is annoying that the on/off button is hidden on the back of the unit - not on the lower right as on my other Dell and Alienware monitors. Because of my set-up, this switch location is very awkward. Setup was easy, except that the video cable provided was for DisplayPort, not HMDI. My new Dell Latitude laptop does not have DisplayPort, requiring that I buy my own cable (or I could have purchased an adapter - but still an item that I had to obtain to complete the installation).

Good for a single screen setup only
21 September 2023

Image quality is really good and touch screen works well - no issues. For my primary purpose of a single screen touch enabled computer, this works fine. However, when first testing this screen, I connected it to my workstation (Dell XPS laptop, dock, and 2 external monitors) and found some results that you may want to be aware of. I replaced one of my 2 external monitors with this hub monitor. I first replaced my dock with the hub and was unable to use my 2nd monitor from this hub. I expected that this hub would be able to output to a second screen like other Dell hub monitors I have used, but this monitor only has video INputs, no OUTputs. Also, the only way to connect the touch part is with the same USB-C cable that makes it a hub. This did work on my laptop while my laptop was also connected to my primary dock, but when I restarted my laptop it hung and reported that 2 docks were connected. Again, no big deal for me because my primary purpose for this hub monitor was to be a single screen system, I just wanted to point it out in case anyone reading this expected it to work differently.

Looks/Feels Great, Some Limits
13 February 2023

The monitor installed very easily, be sure to install the driver software for it. A few things to be aware of: it does NOT lay flat, it only angles. And don't use the USB hub ports for anything you need to be always on. If you like to turn off your monitor when you walk away, it cuts off power to those USB ports and will turn the attached device off. Use a screensaver instead. And I tried hooking up a USB hard drive to those ports, and even when leaving the monitor turned on, it kept intermittently stopping and restarting the hard drive. And USB power saving was turned OFF. But overall functionality for the monitor is great.

Love it but a little hard to setup.
4 June 2024

love this. At first it was a little difficult getting it to work. i bought it for a office layout.i already have a laptop attached to a monitor so this would have been a multiple monitor setup. I also bought a dell dock and when i attached the touch monitor to my dell dock it would not work. i had to plug it into directly into my laptop and then it worked. this allows me to have one work screen that i can use for apps that i can touch . The instructions need to be better. i found most of my help on setting it up from google. Love it. i recommended it to others!!!!

Needs complete instructions to be included in the box to install drivers for Touch function
14 September 2023

This is a beautiful monitor with a very useful base. The reason I gave 4 stars is because it is difficult to figure out how to get the touch function working. There is no instruction included with the monitor to show how to add the drivers that allow the touch screen function. There is no instruction included to even know you need to install a driver to get the touch function working. We had to spend over an hour on the phone with Dell support figuring out why this monitor did not have the touch function working. Finally the Dell tech realized we needed the driver and after him walking us through where to download it, we got the driver installed and then we had to figure out how to get it activated. There needs to be detailed written instructions for the touch function to be activated that should be in the box with the monitor when purchased. It was a chore having to be on the phone with support and having them not even knowing first that there was a driver needed. The support tech thought is should work with just connecting the monitor to a computer, but that is not the case. Complete instructions needs to come with the monitor in the box. The Dell support was good, but I am disappointed in Dell to have left out crucial information from the box with the monitor.

No regrets with this decision!!
22 April 2024

I was going to buy a monitor and docking station for my XPS-13 laptop, but then discovered the USB-C hub monitor. After looking further, I found this touch screen model and am very happy with my decision. It was easy to connect the power cable, internet cable, the laptop via the provided USB-C to USB-C cable, and the USB wireless receiver for my keyboard and mouse, all to the monitor. It really tidied up my desktop. And, I love the touchscreen. It’s very responsive and the colors are sharp.

Purchase Monitor P2424HT Very Poor - Not Recommend
3 January 2024

The product is delivered with no information except how to get it out of the box. The monitor has a feature which controls turning your pc on/off. Manuals are poor. Customer Service is very poor. The technicians have NO knowledge of the monitor, features, how to set it up, how to configure it. Buying and receiving the monitor was very time consuming and very frustrating. I would NOT recommend to anyone. The plastic back cover does not fit, very poor construction.
