Unfortunately we broke a number of monitors on our gigs through to March 2020 and now we are planning to restart in July as the Covid restrictions for live events are relaxed.Part of the replanning is an investment in new laptops and monitors for lighting control, audio desks and DJ booths. This monitor is absolutely perfect for our needs. It is a little brighter than the lower end monitors which is fantastic for outdoor events. It looks great when at the desk and it easily attaches to our VESA arms in he various booths. We have had a number of purpose made flight cases for these monitors made up by our friends at TriFibre and these cases should help avoid the problems of broken monitors from 2019/20.What we REALLY like:- its brighter than many monitors- ... Vibrant colors, sturdy stand, lots of USB3 ports and sources. Integration with an M2 Mac Mini was fine after installing the Dell DDPM app (downloaded from Dell support for U2421E page). That's the only way to get the brightness and contrast to be adjustable from the mac, as well as getting the USB ports and soundbar to work at all. Figuring that out took a lot of internet searches! While USB-C video worked fine over a thunderbolt port, I am using video over HDMI to allow the USB-C to have full 10 Gbps bandwidth to the monitor's USB hub, otherwise it was slower.

Fantastic monitors for office work! 16:10 ratio excels, greatly enhances productivity and workspace. Color was well calibrated out of the box. 1080p class resolution is acceptable on a 24-inch monitor for office or engineering applications, however if I was gaming or editing content, I would go 1440p/4k. USB-C charging and monitor hub works flawlessly, you can even daisy chain a second monitor and still connect with 1 cable. RJ45 on monitor makes it convenient to switch to wired networking in the office. Stand is stable and adjustable on all axis. Great monitor for productivity.

This is a good monitor and is value for money with its several connectivity options.I am using it as an additional display for my MacBook Pro , this is where it gets a tad disappointing as it doesn’t match up some of the premium displays.Otherwise it is a very good monitor to use. Very sturdy quality and beautiful / premium finish. Overall satisfied with the purchase - just do your research if taking it as an addition to a MBP.
Got two of these, I've always been a fan of 16:10 resolution. Great monitors so far. Dell monitors I've had over the years have always been good. The only thing I really don't like about this one is the new stand design - it's just too wobbly. My desk is light and is on carpet, may not be an issue with a heavier desk on a hard surface but still. I've probably had 4-5 different Dell monitor types before and this is the first time I've even thought about stand stability.I've put some big freezer gel packs on top of the stand in the back to at least dampen the vibration some. Otherwise it wobbles for a few seconds after bumping into the desk or bouncing your foot. Will definitely be looking for some other, more stable stands, maybe an older Dell stand, I think it ... I bought the U2421E as an emergency monitor in case my present monitor (also a Dell) fails. I knew that present-day Dell monitors would only accept DP input, and my graphics card only has DVI ports – but no worries; I bought a DVI-to-DP adapter to fill the gap. I bought the U2421E because it supports the maximum 1920x1200 resolution available from a single DVI port. The U2421E works, but the colours are incorrect and washed out because I don't have the U2421E's colour profile installed on my computer. Because I have the DVI-to-DP adapter in the link, my computer can't get the colour profile from the monitor. I've tried downloading and installing the Display Manager Application to see if I could get the colour profile that way, but the app won't run because it ... I've tried downloading and installing the Display Manager Application to see if I could get the colour profile that way, but the app won't run because it doesn't detect a suitable monitor. There's no software CD included with the U2421E, so I can't get the colour profile that way either. Without a DP port on my graphics card, I'm snookered. So, instead of putting the U2421E into service and putting my present monitor aside as an emergency spare, I'm keeping my old monitor in service and putting the U2421E aside as a not fully satisfactory spare. I've disassembled the U2421E and put it all back into the box until such time as I have a new computer with a DP-equipped graphics card.so that I can get a properly coloured display on the monitor.
I really like this monitor. I don't usually put reviews on web sites but did so because some of the earlier reviews were slightly off putting. The USB C interface works and will charge my laptop, which isn't a Dell. I use the daisy chain to a second monitor and this is flawless. Windows sees both monitors as normal and you can using the Settings applet to position the screen on the virtual desktop. It didn't work at first and then I discovered you need to push the Display Port connector quite hard to make it lock into the monitor.I connected an ethernet cable to the monitor to see if it works. It does, and Windows will use this connection and then change to wireless if I pull the USB cable from the laptop. The screen size is good because I wanted a 16 by 10 ... Someone felt that the pixel pitch could have been smaller but the pixels blend nicely.I now have only one cable going to the laptop now. Home time, and I pull the USB C cable and close the lid. Absolutely worth the price of admission.
I bought 2 of these monitors to use with a Mac mini M1 running Big Sur. I really like the monitors and particularly like the 16:10 ratio that is hard to find these days (better for viewing text documents). The ultra thin bezels are very nice for a 2-monitor setup. The stand is easily adjustable. It was difficult setting up the monitors because it required an HDMI cable for the second monitor (not included) and Dell support was hit or miss (one person not helpful, another person very helpful). The USB hub will not work at this time due to incompatibility. Hopefully, that will get worked out at some point. Overall, I would recommend this monitor for work dealing with documents and Dell support is very good if you get the right person.
HUB USB ports do not work well with many devices. Primarily the most common of peripherals: Wireless Keyboards, Mice, and Printers. The daisy chain monitor system is not well labeled and the loss of a display (HDMI/DP) because of the USB-C connection is also not something. There should be well marked ports for input and output. Underside ports are difficult to service when troubleshooting devices.
Monitor - U2421E, gone are the days where you have multiple cables plugged in to your laptop and multiple monitor cables and adapters or docking station. The U2421E does that all for you. one USB-C cable in the laptop and the rest is plugged in to the monitors. The color and resolution is great and all the folks that have gotten this monitor for their home office solution are raving about it..
