A great, quick alternative to installing a split system
13 February 2023anonymous

Im currently renting and was unable to get a split system installed (plus the turn around time was going to be a few weeks and with the hot summer heat, I just couldnt bare it). Im so glad I purchased this as it cools my whole bedroom down so quickly and sustains the temperature. Its also quite quiet and the settings are great. 10/10 would recommend and its an extra bonus that the Good Guys offer afterpay as it made it much easier to purchase this product immediately! Install was also relatively quick and easy. Overall, I would absolutely recommend if you dont have the funds for a split system or ability to install one (i.e. renting etc)

Decent portable aircon

As expected from a portable air con, it is still quite loud eventhough it is supposed to be quiet than other similar machine. I found that the plastic plate for the window exhaust is not long enough and I had to extend it beyond maximum. The plastic plate also doesn't really block the noise from outside, so I decided to just exhaust it out of the door into my living room. Another thing I notice is how fast the wind is blowing even on lowest setting, so it may be a problem in a small bedroom where it can get quite windy. It provides decent cool air and I haven't had any other trouble for the past 2 weeks I have used it.

This air conditioner isn't too loud, we have it in our office and you can't hear it on calls in the background. The best feature is the external water outlet - rather than use the internal water tank for dehumidification, you can run the included hose to an external container which makes it really easy to run for longer periods on a hot day. The cooler adequately cools a 4m x4.5m room with two computers and a west facing window on a 30 degree day - and the dehumidification takes all the humidity out of the air, which is very pleasant. It's not too heavy, and looks sleek in the corner.

Excellent Portable Air Con
22 February 2023

Product is excellent and cools the bedroom well. Weve had a few hot nights and this air con is a lifesaver. Cool, efficient and not too loud! The first few nights youd notice the noise but after a while you get used to it. Got it on sale, which is a bonus! I recommend this product. Its really good!

Excellent cooling & chilling for summer
17 November 2022

The aircon cooling is really excellent. Cools my small-medium room quickly. At just 21 degrees, the cooling is powerful enough, not needing further lowering of temperature. Great for stuffy Auckland summer heat/muggy conditions. The dehumidifer function is pretty good. Cools the room (not as much as aircon) but doesn't have air-speed variables. The connected hose sending heat out of windows is adjustable and flexible. Box comes with window kit etc. Very handy.

Good
18 January 2023

Good overall. The good- it works (eventually)- enough to cool down small room immediately- works with Sensibo remote for voice assistant - HomeKitNot so good- installation kit is not long enough to cover standard vertical Australian bedroom windows. Expect to do some own innovation installation to cover the window for a good seal for the hose exhaust.- the first week it wasnt working properly. The control lights blink and turn and off on its own. It was figgeting most of the time. Left it on its own for a week to settle down, probably from travel and unpacking the compressor need to settle down. Not a good experience on the first week- remote is a bit clunky, could use a light to show the buttons at night

Great appliance!!!
4 March 2022

Great portable air conditioner!! Price range make sense to me. We needed a cooling system ASAP since our new built home doesn't have installed air-conditioning yet. We've had this aircon for a little over 2 weeks now and since then we haven't had any major problems. Most things people have an issue about this appliance is miniscule and wouldn't be a problem if people do their research. 1st things first, this aircon DOES NOT cool down a big room. It is a 2kW system, it would only cool down a small bedroom, roughly 10m2 size. Which we are happy with in our situation.2nd, the issue that people are saying about "not cooling long enough, stays on for short amount of time". Read the manual. Which we are happy with in our situation.2nd, the issue that people are saying about "not cooling long enough, stays on for short amount of time". Read the manual. That issue mainly lies on its cooling system. The machine does this to stop freezing the system once it reaches a certain cold temperature. Then turns back on when the system had time to melt the ice particles. Another reason is to make sure the air exhaust pipe doesn't have kinks that would stop hot air to exit or make sure there is nothing blocking the pipe. Sometimes though, it give a loud thud when it is turning off that would wake you up a bit if it is getting to its freezing point.3rd, it is very loud. To some people it might be hard to sleep with it on. But to us it sounds like we're in an airplane. It gives out a white noise ambiance. We like it. And lastly, it is very heavy. It would need a very strong person or 2 people to carry it if you need to. Otherwise, rolling it isn't a problem. All in all we expect these things from a portable aircon. This one is the BEST so far within this price range. We have no regrets.

Not great value
13 January 2023

I have found this product underwhelming for the price. We are using it in an average size bedroom and the air is not as cold as I would expect. It only goes as low as 18 degrees. The humidifying feature is great but you also cannot turn it off whilst using the aircon program. So you cant leave the unit on for long periods of time without having to monitor the water collection and empty the bucket. We also have windout windows and these portable air cons with the window attachment dont work for windout windows. They are designed for windows that slide up and down or side to side. I subsequently purchased the Noirot Windout Window Solution by COOLSEAL from the good guys. It does a decent job sealing off windout windows but security wise it leaves your house ... MoreI have found this product underwhelming for the price. Powerful cooling, but only SEMI-portable
9 January 2022

Overall definitely something to consider, but decide really carefully first. It'd probably be better to put the cost towards an installed system of some kind.Advantages compared to other portable cooling options (eg. fans, evaporative 'coolers')* Proper cooling that can drop an average-sized master bedroom from 37-40 degrees in the middle of summer to a much more bearable 28-32 degrees. And for a smaller bedroom or home office, it can drop the temperature to a chilly 20-22. (MUCH more effective than those evaporative coolers, which do practically nothing).Disadvantages compared to other portable cooling options (eg. fans, evaporative 'coolers')* As MUCH more expensive as it is much more effective. If you could get one for $300-350, I'd highly recommend it. At $400, ... MoreOverall definitely something to consider, but decide really carefully first. If you could get one for $300-350, I'd highly recommend it. At $400, maybe. At over $600, probably better to look into installed systems. (A friend picked up a similar one in a different brand - cheaper starting price plus 30% off, and it also had heating. That seemed a great deal).* It's not necessarily very 'portable'. Depending on the size of your window, layout of the window frame, how much room is available to allow appropriate space between the system and any windows or walls it is near, and how much room there is for a bucket to catch any water dripping out the hose, it can be quite complicated to set up. For us, with a not particularly large window, the window panel's longest setting was about 3-4cm too short. We were able to extend it just enough using a tonne of blu-tack to hold it in place. On top of that, the window-end of the pipe has a large hook/curve that juts out right where our window frame is, so we couldn't install it at all in the suggested manner. Instead, we had to turn the window panel upside-down and have the pipe connect right at the top of the window. Of course, the pipe isn't nearly long enough for that, so that meant buying a small table to sit the machine on (and it's a heavy machine, so a sturdy little wooden table is needed). And then the weight of the pipe keeps pulling the window panel down from the top, so we need some tape to hold it in place. Meanwhile, the window panel is a bit of a funny shape on one side, so unless you stick the felt that comes with it all along your window, there are large gapes for hot air to seep back in. Yet, you can't actually stick that felt on, because if you do, then you can no longer close the window when the machine is not in use. And between the little table (probably about 70x70cm), room for a tub under the table to stick out just a bit, and space between the window and a wardrobe, we have a bit of a stretch over it to open the curtains, and one of us has to jump over the bed to get to the other side. It does take up a chunk of room.All-in-all, it's just too much work to treat it as portable. For us, being semi-portable means we'll be able to pack it up during winter. But there's no way we'll be moving it from room to room.Advantages compared to single-room installed air-con* No formal installation needed. * In the rare situation where you might buy it for a particular room (eg. home-office) that you later decide to move (eg. swapping the furniture between your home-office and one of the bedrooms), it's about as portable as most of the furniture you'd be moving. (Whereas an installed system would be stuck where it is).Disadvantages compared to single-room installed air-con* Not quite as effective at cooling.* Will normally let a certain amount of cool air escape / hot air in, due to gaps between the window and window panel.* Prevents you from using the window normally (to open the window, you have to pull the window panel down first, which might be extra fiddly depending on your window design).* Takes up space.* Needs a tub/bucket to catch water leaking inside the room.* Ugly, if that matters.

Very pleased with the air conditioner. Have installed it in our caravan with a built in exhaust through the floor of the caravan. Also installed bug mesh to prevent any creepy crawlies getting into the caravan. Only negative is I thought it was supposed to have a whisper mode, but it doesn't. Having said that the fan is quiet enough (a low enough tone) for both my wife and myself to sleep with it on 'auto"
