I have used this carry on piece for at least 10 long weekend trips. So I loved the way this piece looked when I got it and was excited to use it. However, it did not survive its first trip. The wheel was completely bashed into the luggage when it arrived on the baggage carousel. Obviously it was mishandled by the airline but now that I read other reviews it appears this is a common flaw in the design. Wheels need to be more impact resistant. It is a shame because I loved the color and design. I am afraid to buy another Delsey product.

Delsey Shadow series is a quality hardshell suitcase made from polycarbonate, expandable and lockable. The double zippers are handy. This case is the larger 27 inch case, which must be checked when traveling by airplane and perfect for an extended trip. At 10lbs, not too heavy for a large case that will pack alot, including large bulky jackets, and held on one side of the case with the built in strap. Smaller items can be zipped into other side and are held with a mesh divider. Lots of colors to chose from.

Really love this piece of luggage. first use was going to Florida used as a checked bag. Had lots of room and it had the ability to expand. the wheels helped it to move smoothly. I do love the two sides with one side having the zippered netting. I only wish it had 'compartments/netting' on the inside along the sides to put in the smaller things.When I arrived home, the luggage was no worse for wear. there were some small marks from handling, but I was looking for them, not scratches, more dirt marks.I love that this has a built in 'overweight' feature.
Video is very misleading! This suitcase does *not* have any pockets, anywhere! Video shows one zip pocket between the two sides and then pockets on the cover of one of the sides.Also, video shows a weight indicator in the handle - guess what, there isn’t one of those either?Seriously considering returning it to Macy's and then purchasing one from an online brand.

The Delsey Shadow Front-Pocket is the perfect Carry-On for long weekend, plus travel. High quality, light weight polycarbonate and light weight, double zippers, spinner wheels, and lockable. Fits in the overhead bins, even when expanded. The front pocket is slim, but holds toiletries and other smaller clothing items and/or book. I packed more than I wore into this bag including an extra pair of jeans and a pair of ankle boots! If you only can have one Delsey Shadow and you love to travel light, this is the bag.
I've brought 3 different sized Delsey Shadow suitcases now at different times & each of them has lived up to my extensive travels. I'm so impressed. The grubby & hard to remove scuff markings that usually happen on my suitcases are much more minimal due to the clever design & material. The zippers are strong & sturdy. The 4 wheels glide effortlessly & even over unstable surfaces it is still super easy to lug around. The internal phone charger on the carry-on suitcase charges my phone quickly & efficiently. Overall just very pleased with my suitcases & I purposely waited before giving my review to ensure I'd had sufficient time to test them out. Highly recommend 👌🏼
Honestly? I’d really be interested which airline you flew when “the wheel fell off on the first use!” - I have three pieces of the Shadow spinner collection and am sure they’ve taken their share of baggage handling abuse. BUT … all the wheels are intact and no zippers broken. Now I hope I haven’t jinxed my next cross country trip , but, really? Which airline ARE you flying!? (It must not be United!). This luggage is a great value line and my family has been well pleased!
The bag looks great and it’s compact, but roomy without using the expander. The wheels work on hard airport floors and sidewalks. I purchased the bag the day before a week’s long work trip. While writing this I’ve only had the bag 24 hours. The handle will not go down without a lot of pushing. Also it’s identified as carry on ready and IT IS NOT! The wheels hang out of the overhead bin unless you turn it sideways which is not always available when a flight is full. I will be returning this bag to Macy’s while I’m in San Diego on my trip. I fear that eventually I will have to check it and I hate checking bags. That’s the why I purchased it. Do not get this bag.
