I bought the Denon AVR-S660H to replace my aging Onkyo amplifier. The sound quality is excellent with a clear, crisp sound and giving a good uplift in quality from my old amp. Setup was very straight forward with the amp showing clear instructions on the TV screen. The included Denon AVR App works well and allows for easy fine tuning of the sound.Overall I am really pleased with the purchase and very glad I decided to go with the Denon amp. The decision was helped by the excellent advice that I got from the Norwich store.

Replaced an old Pioneer VSX921 that stopped working. Setup was intuitive and the microphone/sound calibration tool worked brilliantly with my KEF KHT3005SE system. Can plug my Fire stick straight into the amp which I couldn't do with the old amp. To my ears film performance is much better than the old amp but it may be the Denon did a better job with the calibration. Music is good too with a few different listening modes, with Air Play working without any issues. Overall very pleased with it and great to have peace of mind with the Richer Sounds extended guarantee given my last one just died suddenly.

We bought this to replace a Denon 1909 we'd had for well over 10 years and was giving us some problems..I called and asked for some advice Steven the manager was really helpful and gave some great advice about what to consider. We visited the store and James helped us, both Steven and James were really passionate about HiFi and really helped us to choose a suitable replacement. We ordered it on Saturday and were told to expect delivery on Tuesday.DPD mailed us on Sunday to say it was arriving on Monday, and it did!The AVR sounds great, I'd highly recommend it to anyone who wants great 5.1 sound. The setup was really easy, much easier than on the model it replaced. I connected all inputs and connected it to the internet. Ran the sound config tool. This unit isn't worth the 500 dollar price I paid. Don't get me wrong, it sounds good but the 75 watts don't put out anywhere near enough power, my 2017 Onkyo was better than this. I mainly bought this Denon because of the 2.1, allm, vrr and the earc but I haven't noticed a difference in this so called great tech. Everything looks the same as far as game graphics are concerned but to me the earc on this Denon sounds weak compared to the regular arc on my 2017 Onkyo, so I basically wasted 500 bucks on something I already had, and the on screen display and setting options on the Denon are lackluster as well Even worse than the Onkyo that I have. If you are looking to buy a receiver I recommend either keeping the one you have or going with something with more than 75 ... MoreThis unit isn't worth the 500 dollar price I paid. I purchased this receiver, as my long time favourite Sony 810 had died. I have been in the Sony ecosystem for the past 20 years, so changing was very difficult for me.After looking round at various receivers, I chanced upon the Denon. This was going to be a very difficult choice to make.I had read a couple of reviews where it had been said that it was difficult to set up ( it is not ! ) and one had said that the sound was lacking bass frequencies ( It doesn't ).I thought that I would take a chance as I had heard that Denon audio was actually quite good ( It is ! ). Setting the system up does take about 20-30 minutes using the equipment provided. Setting the system up does take about 20-30 minutes using the equipment provided. Just follow the on screen instructions.I use the toslink system for my audio and the Denon took this in its stride, easily sorting out the return audio from my tv with ease. There is even a button on the handset.I am very glad that I chose to go for Denon and not the latest Sony offering, as I feel that Denon definitely has more to offer in comparable price ranges than the competitors. If you want a great sounding home cinema receiver, then you should choose the Denon over other makes, as what you will get is a far superior system.
I originally bought this as a compromise, the Marantz NR1510 that I originally wanted was too deep for my cabinet! Thought this would pale in comparison a little. How wrong could I be?This Denon unit has loads of powers and the sound is awesome. This has all of the features that I need in a reasonably priced package. Set up was a breeze thanks to the Audacy microphone included.Picture quality through the HDMI eARC is also brilliant, love the fact that it’s ready for 8k when I am. Having a phono stage is a bonus for when I buy a turntable. It plays nicely with my existing HEOS speakers. Would have been nice to have a bi amp/bi wire capability. Not sure how significant a difference in sound would be from an amplifier costing twice as much.
I have 300 watt Infinity speakers and at lower volumes this Denon AVR-S760H doesn't seem to deliver the bass that my early 2000s, 60 watt Onkyo delivered with the help of a 7 band equalizer. At higher volumes it definitely delivers quality bass to my 15 inch woofers but I don't like having to crank it real loud to get the power to those woofers. At higher volumes it delivers crisp clear sound (and like I said) it has plenty of bass. I also don't like that I have to go to Internet radio in order to adjust the equalizer but I guess that's today's technology. Other than the lack of bass at low volume and the equalizer I'm relatively satisfied with this unit and it's features, especially the zone two feature. This amp was provided as part of a RS package with Wharfedale speakers. The product was well wrapped and looks good. Like many receivers this is large item to have in your living room but it looks and feels very solid. There is a good number of options in the menu accessed by the TV. However the interface looks like it was designed 20 years ago. The mobile phone app makes the most sense when trying to set different modes and is a useful feature for understanding which speakers are being driven in each of the modes. Most importantly the amplification appears to be well balanced, easily adjustable and there are plenty of connection options. Big shout out to Cardiff store who recommended the this and provided excellent support in purchasing a TV at the same time.
We bought this AV receiver to replace a 10 year old Yamaha with some trepidation as were wondering whether we would really tell the difference. Would it be a waste of money. Well, we need not have worried. The sound has had us on the edge of our seats, its depth gives a really immersive experience. Things have moved on a lot in 10 years including the capacity for technical stuff that I don't understand 4k, Dolby Atmos & umpteen other improvements. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend upgrading to a newer system. Worth the investment to improve your viewing & audio experience beyond belief. We love it!
It’s still early days but not disappointed with purchase, the Denon isn't has powerful as my previous amp which I knew although did catch me by surprise, also noticed this unit takes a good while longer to warm up before you get its true sound. One area the Denon exceeds in over my previous Sony AV receiver is on the music stage, the sound created by the Denon is truly impressive compared to the Sony, however the Sony bettered the Denon with its 'setup' menu which I found to be its Achilles heal, although it is functional the onscreen display is rather dated looking and more annoyingly I haven’t figured out how you access the menu without using an external input, you simply can’t just press the button and it come up onscreen which seemed odd? maybe not worked it out ... MoreIt’s still early days but not disappointed with purchase, the Denon isn't has powerful as my previous amp which I knew although did catch me by surprise, also noticed this unit takes a good while longer to warm up before you get its true sound. In summary this receiver is bang on the money in this price range, good level of inputs, good dimensions, good features and most importantly the overall soundstage is respectable for its power. Just to add favourite feature by far is the HEOS technology! I’m definitely looking forward to exploring this feature more and testing its capabilities.
