Carrying an extra laptop is not cost efficient.This is why standalone controllers are the future of djing. As a user coming from the comparable controller from Pioneer (XDJ-RX2) which is also a great equipment, moving to Prime 4 was like upgrading my iPhone 6 to iPhone X. The 10 inches touchscreen is simply amazing. 4 Channel mixer is a plus which I would use with external CDJs like the SC5000 or turntables rather than using it in layering mode. On the other hand I don't like the Engine Prime software much. It lacks of modules and other options available in Rekordbox, like video mixing, performance mode and lighting control even though a computer is required for this functions. Engine Prime 4 needs more development. Other than that I'm very happy with the response time and all the features it includes.

This is my favorite controller so far, I started off with the Denon MCx800 because I love a standalone controller but I needed to upgrade from that controller. Getting the Prime 4 was a great decision!! The large touch screen makes it so much better to read through songs. I love that there is a search bar where you can look for any song on your USB instead of looking through each crate. My hands down favorite feature is that it is a 4 channel controller which takes mixing and blending to a whole new level when you can play up to 4 songs simultaneously. Live production with the Prime 4 is amazing with drum pads plus 4 channels, amazing!! The only dislike I have is how heavy it is.
