Derma E failed on this one

I was using the Derma E Sensitive skin cream which I liked very much. So when I saw this product, I was excited to try it. It's a complete fail for me. It feels fine when applying but when it absorbs into the skin, it sucks the moisture right out! I had to apply another cream over top to feel any moisture. Terrible!

I have combination/sensitive/acne prone skin, which causes a lot of inflammation and redness on my cheeks. I have seen a significant difference after using this product for about three weeks. My skin is more calm and balanced. Also has a nice texture.I use it at night after applyingnDermae's vitamin C serum and advanced peptide eye cream. This combo has really hydrated, brightened, and calmed my skin.Really enjoy Dermae's products.

I have good actives in my serums and chemical exfoliation, so I tend to go for a more "chill" moisturizer and nothing too intense so it meshes well with my other products. This one caught my attention because 1. I used to use derma e moisturizers and remember loving them and 2. it helps with sensitive skin and redness (I have rosacea). I also like it had anti-aging benefits too so I grabbed it. I see why this is meant for daytime use (it's very light and soaks in quickly). I prefer using a moisturizer at night for the most part and even though it FEELS light my skin is moisturized and happy. If I want an extra boost I just layer it with my rosehip seed oil and it works out great. I think I'll actually like this even more with summertime since my skin much prefers ... MoreI have good actives in my serums and chemical exfoliation, so I tend to go for a more "chill" moisturizer and nothing too intense so it meshes well with my other products. Overall I like it and it's paired well with my retinol serum as well. Overall a good moisturizer and my sensitive, dry, rosacea prone skin seems to like it :) It also feels very smoothing on the skin and sits really well under makeup, by the way.

I really wanted to like this
15 May 2023

The packaging is beautiful and the cream smells beautiful in a subtle way- luxurious. The cream is not too heavy or light and spreads like a dream over the skin. And then you slowly work it in and it still feels really nice. Unfortunately, after a minute or two, the cream dried on my face and it felt like I was wearing a mask. Like there was oil sitting on top, but suddenly the skin beneath felt dehydrated, like the cream had pulled water up out of my face and my face felt tight. I tried to use the cream for several days, in denial, but the results were always the same. It didn't cause any redness or breakouts and it didn't irritate my sensitive eyes (which is rare), but I couldn't use it on my face, even when I used a hydrating serum beneath or layered a ... MoreThe packaging is beautiful and the cream smells beautiful in a subtle way- luxurious. It didn't cause any redness or breakouts and it didn't irritate my sensitive eyes (which is rare), but I couldn't use it on my face, even when I used a hydrating serum beneath or layered a moisturizing sunscreen overtop. I thought maybe it was just my face being sensitive, so I tried to use it on the rest of my body, but I got the same sensation that it pulled a mask over my skin- oil on the surface, sucking moisture out from beneath, leaving my skin tight. Maybe my biome and Derma E's biome just don't get along. I felt the need to write this review because I've only seen positive reviews and I felt like I should let others know of my alternative experience with this. I'm not saying don't buy this, but everyone's microbiomes are different, so that should be kept in mind.

In love!
20 December 2016

I've been using Derma E's Pycnogenol creme for more than 15 years. Shortly after my son's birth, I developed a rash on my face that not even my natural healing practitioner could offer a solution for. My requirements were simple--I just wanted something that was vegan and natural, and of course that would work. One day, at our natural foods coop, I picked up a sample of this amazing creme. The results were almost miraculous. By the next morning, there was a marked improvement. This product has been my trusted friend ever since. I use it every day, morning and evening as a moisturizer. I often give this as a gift. Thank you Derma E for this wonderful product.

Not for dry skin
27 September 2023

I had high hopes for this cream but unfortunately it’s not moisturizing enough for me. I have dry skin and this almost makes my face drier (especially under the eyes). I have to layer over it with a moisturizing spray or oil.

Not good if you do not like matt finish
9 July 2023

Very interesting cream, when you are applying it, it feels greasy and that you need small amount for the entire face but after 1 minute it dryes completely creating matt finish. If you are applying toner, serum, eye cream with moisturising properties it will feel well on your skin but if no, than it feel too dry. Can suggest for oily skin types.Regarding skin barrier a feel that it has soothing properties but not something special.Keep in mind that it has form of Vitamin C therefore better to not combine with acids or retinoids.

Skin slowly became drier
30 April 2023

Was soothing at first but my skin seemed to get more dry over a few weeks of use and the skin around my eyes became slightly irritated. I might give it another try in a few weeks to make sure. Anyone else have a similar experience?..

Wanted to like this...

I've wanted to try probiotic skincare so I decided to give this a try. I noticed after a few uses that my skin became dry. It applies very nice but after it dries out, my skin feels taught. Unfortunately it did not do what it claimed for me.

eeehh
27 April 2023

So I gave it the whole jar to write this review and I have to say I have mixed emotions about this moisturizer. Cons I have combination/oily skin with some parts on my face I'm more dry around my chin and mouth. I did not feel like this moisturizer was hydrating enough. I had to use something more hydrating around those areas. Pros, I did leave my skin smooth, works great under makeup and did not clog my pores. I would have to see if I come back to this in the future.
