A must-have retinol in my skincare routine!

Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Retinol Serum has become my new favorite retinol. I’ve tried other brands and they were all unsuccessful with results. I’ve experienced irritation and dryness with other brands. However, this brand has the perfect formulation of a retinol product. I use this product twice a week at night and I’ve seen visible results such as minimized pores, soft skin, and fading of some dark spots caused by acne. I like the ingredients listed in this retinol such as squalane and beta-glucan. Both of these ingredients help support and protect the skin by providing hydration to the skin. Caused breakouts

I was recommended retinol after my dermalogica facial, to treat minor breaks outs, blackheads and clogged pores. I was given free samples and told there may be a 2 week purging period. I mixed a tiny pea size with my moisturizer for my first use, and I broke out in bad cystic acne all over my face which normally doesn’t happen. I’ll typically get 1-2 zits that time of the month. I thought it was the purging, so continued for 2 weeks only twice a week. Every time I used it I would wake up with new cystic acne the next day. Decided to switch to cereve retinol for the 3rd week as I think this product was too strong or did not work with my skin. This is a multi-beneficial serum to target aging, even skin tone & hydrate. I was really intrigued by the 3.5% Retinoid Complex featuring THREE retinoids targeting aging multiple ways. Dermalogica gifted me this product to test, honest opinions are my own.I love Dermalogica, the moderately expensive products work consistently on my age 40+ skin!I was happy to test the new Dynamic Skin Retinol Serum as I love incorporating Retinol into my night time skincare routine. At $92 for 1oz of product, I consider this serum to be VERY expensive.This lightweight gel type serum absorbs well, hydrates and does not leave a greasy or tacky finish.I first patch tested on my hands and immediately saw GREAT results. Nail techs have made comments on my rough, cracked hands. Every product from their line has upped my Skincare game and has drastically improved the look and feel for my skin. This is another absolute game changer! I love that it's formula contains a nice dose of Retinol and that it has Oat -Derived Beta-Glucan to smooth and hydrate my Sensitive Skin! So far so wonderful

This is a lightweight formula and reminds me a lot of another high dose retinoid I’ve used for years. It even has the same color. So far I have experienced no irritation whatsoever but my skin is used to retinoids. It does a really nice job of softening which I noticed after just a few uses. My oily skin can get a hard texture to it if I’m not exfoliating regularly but this is very helpful to bring back a smooth texture without peeling. I normally skip retinoids around my nose because it’s already so red but this didn’t exacerbate that issue. It also has a creamy consistency and I don’t feel the need to moisturize like crazy after. This product was gifted by Dermalogica. I have normal/combo skin with fine lines, dullness, dark spots and texture. The texture of this serum is more of a medium consistency lotion which is really nice to work with. It blends in like a moisturizer and sinks in quickly while still leaving my skin feeling hydrated after application. The texture also allows you to layer in thinner serums underneath and layer your thicker day/night cream over top. I love the versatility it affords.
