Dermalogica - Porescreen SPF40 - 30ml

The Porescreen is described as having a 'blurring' effect, with a slight tint. The instructions are to shake before use; I did this, and could see a very few tinted particles in the cream. The tube has a pump top, which delivers a smallish amount. Given that it's a sunscreen, and the guidance is to ' apply liberally', I did so. The sunscreen is thick, white, and takes a lot of rubbing in. Even after doing so it leaves a shiny effect on the face for about half an hour. I wore it for a full day, in English sun in the Southeast, in July, and experienced no reddening or burning of my skin.My view? It's an effective sunscreen, with a thick white consistency that takes quite a bit of rubbing in. I couldn't see any tint or blurring effect, and it made my skin look rather shiny although this did wear off after about half an hour or so. I tried it with and without moisturiser underneath, and this didn't make any difference to the overall finish.

Really love this sunscreen! I have used this after skincare with no make up, and as a base for make up. Both left me with a lovely glow to my skin. I loved the pump as it results in a good dose and no leaking or waste fiddling to putting the cap back on. I felt confident to just go out with concealer for under eyes as this evened out my skin tone sufficiently. The protection was high enough and of good quality, it was reassuring to use such a well known brand, it's perfect for everyday use. I haven't noticed any scent when applying the product. That resulted in pulling on my skin as there was no slip, and a white cast even on my light skin. This is certainly on the more fluid side but in my opinion that is far preferable for ensuring the product is absorbed, and to be gentle on the skin!I have added a photo of the product to demonstrate the viscosity and a video of the Porescreen on my skin in natural light, after doing brows and mascara. I have acne scarring and large pores, I would say this hasn't given me airbrushed, fake looking skin, but it certainly makes the most of my natural skin texture.

It takes a minimum of 3/4 pumps to cover my face and neck and even though it comes out quite runny it feels quite thick when applying. Probably it's only negative. It is whitish when it comes out the pump but doesn't apply white. It must absorb really easily as I didn't have to do much rubbing in to get good coverage and it's virtually odourless.
