I honestly don't understand the negative reviews, however reading many of them.. they all say pretty much the same - there's a bad smell, and wanted to get rid of it using this, and didn't work. See I've used this since I got my washing machine brand new, so there has never been any smell or issues. I think people are expecting this to completely eliminate a problem that has been there long enough for the smell to become an issue, whereas if you keep your washing machine clean, service it as instructed with the draining and these products to keep limescale, bacteria and oder at bay... its amazing! My house smells brilliant of this citrus lemon as well as the machine itself. Going against Instructions a little.. I’d used a couple of washing machine cleaners from other brands and the only thing they affected was my purse. Absolutely useless! This was the first one to clean it and it hasn’t smelt since. Filled my whole house with a very strong pine scent as it’s such a tiny house, but it certainly beats the mouldy smell the machine had before. I will definitely use it again!

I bought this to clean my washing machine because the rubber seal had accumulated residue. The instructions ask you to dilute a portion of the product and to then clean the seal with the detergent. The detergent was effective. I left some residue behind thinking that it would be removed during the washing cycle. I then put all the remaining product into the washing machine as instructed and started a hot wash. I was surprised that the residue that I had left behind had not been removed. First purchase.

Well after reading some reviews I decided to give this a try as the washing machine wasn't doing it's job. I cleaned the draw so that no power was in the draw then followed the instructions as I didn't want bubbles coming out the machine which some reviews have stated. After putting on a 60 degreee wash the machine was sparking and smelling fresh. I've boght 2 bottles so will do this again in 2 months time.
I use this occasionally because I feel I should due to washing a lot of muddy /sandy clothes. To be honest I just pour it straight into the drum and some in the draw. I don't use a sponge to clean around the door etc. I can't say I notice a difference in my machine afterwards. I don't have the smell that everyone seems to be mentioning but then I do still leave the door open for a few hours after using the product. I also use washing powder straight in the drum instead of gel so I think that's why my machine stays clean anyway. I wonder if this really does anything differently than pouring a bit of bleach in the drum?
This is the frist I have used this item for my washing machine. When the machine is left standing until the next wash you get that horrible smell from it. This is due to stagnant water in the outflow hosepipe. Using this cleaner has given my machine a very pleasant smell. From now onwards, I will continue to use this product to maintain the cleanliness of my washing machine. I would strongly recommend it, it's safe and does what it says.
Used this as directed on long wash at 60. Discovered when I did my washing there was bits all over the clothes. Rinsed 3 times again but still there. Put washing machine on another long cycle with no washing liquid and no clothes and there was still a large amount of suds in there. Tumble dryer residue looked liked Christmas with all the sparkly 'bits' that have come off the clothing so I am rewashing again. Terrible product.
It’s a bit expensive, but it does make the machine drum smell nice which lasts for awhile which is good. I find it worthwhile using a deep cleaner every three months as when the drum starts to smell it permeates into the clothes. How effectively it is at descaling and cleaning the internal gubbins I have no idea! I always use a water softener as well so time will tell...It’s easy to use, however the instructions are so small it’s very difficult to read them.
This was the first time I'd used a cleaner on my washer. Prior to using it, clothing would emerge from the washer with a mild scent of old potatoes! Not good. Since using this cleaner, clothing is coming out softer, cleaner and it smells as it should. Washed! I'm amazed at how a simple thing like this can make such a difference. Will be using this regularly from now on.
Hating summer coming with light and white clothes needing to be washed, and coming out dingey. That was until the day the wire came out my bra and the machine had to be slightly dismantled to retrieve it. My husband showed me the muck he scraped off the inside of the machine and told me we had best go and get some cleaner. The fantastic people at ASDA Old Mill Lane explained that the two best sellers were either Dr Beckman, or Dettol 5in1. One was not in stock so chose the lemon dettol. First time I ran 2 washes (as shown on instructions) to try and clean machine and have used approx every 2 months since, no more dingey light coloured garments. And finally the fresh fantastic smell coming from my clothes and also the washing machine is a breath of fresh air.
