I was getting desperate with awful smelling gym gear including towels. I was using a hotter wash, putting a small dose of bleach in the machine and using an extra rinse sometimes washing twice But I was slowly losing the battle. Until I tried this. Pour some into the fabric conditioner drawer and no smelly clothes. Ive also found that a 20 min soak of all my stinking gear in a half bucket of water with a capful of this prior to washing also does the trick that way I can soak colours and whites and still only use a single dose. Ill continue using this stuff.

Excellent quality product with a lovely, gentle scent. It has a good consistency, thicker liquid form and my clothes feel really clean and fresh after using it. It was very damaged when it arrived, but it was dispatched very quickly. Packaging could have been better to prevent damage. Its a huge container, therefore, great value I would buy this again. Great Laundry cleanser. Will last me for a good spell.

Awesome at getting rid of odours!

This stuff is amazing. My husband is a personal trainer and very active, so there are always lots of sweaty clothes to wash. I've tried all the detergents for active wear and ones that have Febreze in etc. None have got the stale sweat smell out of his older training clothes. Adding this sanitiser with a normal detergent does the trick, though! And it has quite a pleasant subtle scent. This will be a staple for us now - please keep stocking, Ocado!

Cleanest clothes I’ve had in years

I can’t begin to tell you the joy that came from finding a supplier who ships British laundry detergent to the US. I washed every item of clothing I own in this and I haven’t felt this clean since moving to the US. The joy still beams out of me. If only the smell was as strong as it is back at home. I blame the dryer!

Dettol Antibacterial Laundry Cleanser, Fresh Cotton, 2.5 L (6 x 2.5ltr)

Everything i hoped for eliminates any odours and leaves an extremely mild pleasant smell. Never liked the overwhelming clothes softener smells that leave towels unable to absorb water the opposite is true of this product. Towels soft but super absorbent again. Fabulous for sports wear. Definately recommend this.

Does what it says

this gets rid of that horrible stale smell that can build up when washing at low temperatures. I couldn't find any information about using fabric conditioner as well and, when I asked Dettol, was told that the liquid can be used as well but is more effective on its own. What they didn't say is that it's not colour safe. After a couple of washes, my blacks are grey, my bright colours dull and all my clothes look slightly washed out. I'll use this on fabrics when they start to smell but I'll stick to a colour safe detergent and fabric conditioner for most washes.

Great product for dirty laundry!

It is good to know that there is a product whose name I trust, available for cleansing my laundry. For environmental and economic reasons, I prefer to do a colder wash. It is reassuring to know that there is something that I can add to my laundry to ensure it is hygienically clean.This product is easy to use, a little goes a long way, and it appears to be compatible with all fabrics.

I bought this as my husband and I both use crystal deodorants (which do not stop you sweating but stop odour). Given we perspire onto our clothing and laundry needs to be washed at a minimum of 60 celsius to kill bacteria, I bought this to ensure that bacteria didnt remain as I didnt want the fibres over time to trap this and it to turn into a nasty odour. In this respect, the product seems to work well. However, I have noticed that the colour vibrancy of clothing appears to have been affected. Not to the extent of bleaching but, new black jeans for example, after a couple of washes, appear to be a few months old. This is obviously partly down to the products themselves too, however, I do wonder if Dettol is a bit TOO harsh. didnt remove odour at low temps

I bought this to wash both cotton and synthetic clothing worn cycling or running, to remove odour at low temperatures. Ive used the full dosage in the conditioner compartment as discussed. There is a slight improvement versus not using it, but I still had to re-wash most items at a hot temp to remove the very noticeable smell. I wont be buying this again.
