Very handy compact little chain saw. I looked at heaps deciding on Dewalt because they seem and feel tougher, they get good reviews and with the included 4A battery and charger (kit) was a good deal. This is the best deal out there.Not many brands do the top handle config which at this size (usable chain is 28cm) is a better balance for me. Not as powerful as a petrol one as electrics don't rev as fast but very convenient, super quiet, and surprisingly grunty if you let the saw do the job. Mainly its for pruning and firewood. So far its performance is better than I expected. Don't forget you need chain oil extra. I don't empty it when done but mine does not leak either. (stored horizontal, not hanging) I have read some leak on auto oil models.

Bought this a month ago as a replacement for another branded electric chainsaw and I have to say it's a great little beast of a machine .it's reliable easy to assemble and clean and as long as u follow the instructions that some people can't grasp to empty the bar oil out for storage it's a powerful light weight beast.perfect for cutting up pallets and small tree trunks and branches . Works so well I bought the line trimmer and drill and am super happy with those too.

My Dad loves this saw! Quick, sharp and efficient! Fills a full gorilla cart of chopped large chunks of wood under one battery session. Battery is quick to charge also. Never leaked oil during or after use. Make sure when the saw is idle, leave the oil cap facing upwards after use. See pic. =D

Happy with this deal on the DeWalt package. Used it to cut up some felled trees on the neighbour's property and got almost a cord of firewood out of it. So has paid for itself already. Relatively quiet motor - so good for weekend work / keeping neighbours happy.
Owned a couple of months. Great value in kit rather than skin only. Cuts well up to 10 inches or so as have been careful to not dull chain. Impressive battery. Have managed 3/4 of a 7 by 4 trailer load from a single charge. Most impressed by lack of noise: lifestylers could use during quiet hours with a little consideration.
I had actually been waiting for two years for a battery operated chainsaw at an affordable price. We have a historic walking track that gets overgrown or needs fallen trees removed.That was the excuse for buying it, but the bonus is that it packs easily into the back of our work van to be available for any emergency. We have already shown it to our neighbour and recommended the larger version for his more demanding requirements.
Purchased this model after a store member told us how good they were, said he had one himself. First time used was great, no issues at all, until you go to store them & then all the oil leaks out which covered our garage cupboards, made a right mess, found out you have to empty the oil out each time & then refill, which is a right pain.If I had known this when I enquired about it I would never have bought, very very poor design, so now we have to store on a tray & as per the pictures you can see the mess it causes.. not at all happy with this model..
I used this chainsaw a month ago for the first time to cut 1 small branch. Unfortunately now a third of the chain oil has leaked out and I have found out that you are supposed to empty the oil after each use (in instruction booklet and via customer service), so not a fault. I have never had to do this with any other chainsaw I have owned. I would not recommend.
