I bought this today and so far so good. As long as you're not trying to cut a massive stump this thing seems to go hard at every application. Branches no issues, 4x2 with ease, tree trunks so far up to the size of 20cm seems to go pretty well. This is all off a 4ah 18v XR battery. Not too shabby. Obviously being battery its not nessarily as strong as a gas chainsaw and for the price it's a bit expensive, if you didn't have batteries then you'd be adding a decent $300 to the bill as well as the chainsaw. Depending on what youve got vs what you need. Light weight and pretty dam good otherwise.

Love this chainsaw. Light to use and so much less noisy than the traditional petrol chainsaw. Was able to use without having to get my husband involved. Not as big as the petrol chainsaw but perfect for me.

Had this in for service at Mitre10 mega Tauranga.Came back in exactly the same condition as when dropped off. Free servicing for 12 months CRAP.Saw leaks so much oil you must empty it every time, making it the most uneconomic saw you can get.You must also ensure the ‘empty’ saw is stored with the oil lid uppermost. But you can’t get all the oil out of the saw. Photos are of the saw after servicing at Mitre10.

Dewalt is a great brand and this saw supports that standard. Light yet powerfull, a dream to use. Punches above its weight! Recemmended by an avid Dewalt user.
Bought today, chosen over a corded/larger option as it was just so comfortable to handle, used to cut logs from a felled plum tree, cut branches 6”-10” thick without issue, this pile from one small 4.0ah battery, lasted better than I expected and was ready to go again once charged. I’d say it’s a little over priced, but the battery redemption offer clinched the deal.
Took a punt purchasing this unit and twin batteries hoping to reduce how often I call in my brother with his petrol chain saw. Would this modest battery driven number turn out to be a "toy"? Hah hah, no no no! It's a feisty little goer! Both brother and I (well-seasoned woman who has never handled a chainsaw) used it for a huge round of heavy pruning and chopping thumper branches into trailer-sized bits. Light and easy to maneuver, it didn't pong or assault our ears. How easy was it to adjust the chain tension? Genius! I have now put a borrowing card on this bit of kit, it'll serve family and friends. One comment, if you have an extensive job to do, a second battery turns out to be a great investment. WIN!
As an ex DeWalt repairer, had one that I fixed up, handy to have around.TO STOP OIL LEAK:- remove the oil filler cap, you'll see a groove near the top where there should be an 'O' ring, buy one with approx 2mm thickness and a little smaller than the diameter and stretch it over into the groove. You'll need to use pliers to turn the plastic fob around on the string inside the tool to get the whole filler cap off first.Enjoy :)
A safe and easy to use chainsaw, even for newbies. Even pruning dense trees didn't make this saw kick back and it's light and comfortable to use.
I received this today and no where on the online description does it mention that the battery and charger is not included. So all up including a battery and charger this chainsaw will set you back $765If I had known this, I definitely would not have purchased it, going instead for a cheaper rival version instead
I brought this to get rid of some fallen trees following a storm. It was cheaper to buy a chainsaw than to get a tree feller into do the job. I already use the Dewalt platform so had plenty of batteries, so the brushless compact was my first choice. I did some research and saw some great reviews but was a bit skeptical that it could handle it. Well was I wrong. Don’t let the size fool you, this is a seriously good saw that has some real grunt. I am so impressed. I used a 9ah battery and after completing about 4 hours work I had only used about 2/3rds of it. Awesome addition to my garden tools
