Great tool! Perfect for small spaces like my NYC studio size apartment. I needed a quality miter saw to build my own custom canvas panels, canvas stretchers and frames for my artwork. The cost for custom canvases with the size I paint on is an average of $300-$500 per canvas and panel. It is worth it! However, my budget could not support it and DIY was the only way to get the quality I want and at a fraction of the cost, considering all I needed was to buy the wood, glue and screws. I’m able to mount the miter saw with the Dewalt Compact Miter Saw Stand and dismantle it and store it my small, studio apt and use it as needed. Its the perfect solution for homes/apartments with no garage or backyard to do DIY projects The dust port works great and connects to a small 2hp shop vac. Almost no dust when using it. Really happy with that since my living space is surrounded by my work space. Less or no no dust is a super plus! The cordless option is a plus for safety reasons. No cord to trip over and get hurt in my small apt. Lastly, Dewalt is quality and customer service! Home Depot had a great sale that was $100 or more, less than other sellers. I applied for the consumer credit and was approved instantly with promotional financing for 6 months. Delivery was fast with no damage to the box or tool! With tools please never go cheap its too dangerous and not worth injuring yourself to save a few extra dollars as the cheaper options are not built well, break and some could cause serious injuries. This tool will last a lifetime with proper care. My overall experience as a first time owner of these types of tools is super great! There are thousands if not millions of people living in city’s with small living spaces that need access to good tools for work and projects. This Dewalt 7-1/4 “ Cordless Miter Saw with the compact folding stand setup is the way to go!

I am really impressed with the form and function of this saw, I cannot speak for a full day of work, but for a half day of cutting, WORTH it.As many other reviewers have mentioned, not being a double bevel is a negative to the saw, but neither was the chop saw. I think knowing the limits and expectations of the saw is needed and one will fully appreciate this little gem. I mean, I move it around like a briefcase, set up and make crazy accurate cuts. What else could you ask for.......Oh wait, you now can purchase cheaper blades and make wider cuts that the 10 in chop....SOLD, buy if you are looking and considering

Overall an excellent miter saw. Have been using a plug in 10" one for years and finally decided I wanted to go cordless. I was a bit concerned about the blade size but so far no issues at all. Definitely not as powerful as a plug in but just take your time and it gets through just fine. I've been amazed by the power consumption on this thing. By end of day my 5ah battery is still showing almost full. The unit also closes up nicely to transport, and the light behind the blade helps line up the cuts with great accuracy. Would definitely recommend.

Can't Lose with this Mitre Saw

I own a Handyman business and love this miter saw. The handiest miter saw I own and I own a lot of them. This is the 2nd one I have purchased I like it that much. It is light, easy to move around, especially on smaller projects and cuts wide stock when laying flat. I even use the smaller 20V-2A batteries on this saw and the battery lasts an unexpectedly long time

Excellent little trim saw capable of framing.

When I bought this little saw and the small Dewalt stand to go with it, it was with a little trepidation. I was concerned about the ability to cut 2x material with speed and precision. However, I have Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis and needed a lighter saw for my smaller quicker projects. I must admit I was quite surprised by the strength and portability of this little saw. The one drawback I initially experienced was the splintering of prefinished moulding on the exit side of my cuts. I found this quite irritating and contemplated returning the saw. But I was so pleased with the weight and portability of the saw I I decided to invest a little more in it first. But I was so pleased with the weight and portability of the saw I I decided to invest a little more in it first. So I replaced the blade, bought a couple 6 amp hr batteries for it and slowed down on my cuts a little. Happily that was the solution and the splintering issue was eliminated. This little saw became my "go to" saw and with the larger batteries it would trim all day on one charge with one battery. However, it would not cut 2x all day on one battery. Although only once during that remodel did I need to replace the pack a third time in one day but, I was reframing the 2x8 floor above 12" oc for a new bath as well using Douglas fir. So I was working the little saw pretty hard. In comparison though I would have had to bring in a set of horses and my heavy worm drive saw, extension cords and done major cleanup. That said, I still needed to clean up a fair amount of sawdust. I think the dust collection on the saw itself could be improved.

Fantastic Portable Saw
22 March 2023

I am a handy man with many smaller jobs to travel to. I purchased this saw to stop transporting my older very large miter saw. I wish i would have gotten this long before. the weight and ease of transport is fantastic. The battery means no more cords or counting on a good electrical circuit at the customer location. the back light tot he blade works fantastic, so much better than laser options. The dust is collected very well int he collection bag. I would buy another immediately if this one was damaged.

I couldn't decide between this and another big brand 7 1/4" Miter saw. I wasn't too bothered by the saw only sporting single bevel. And the single bevel scale and pointers are leaps and bounds nicer than on the competitors 7 1/4" miter saw. The sliders on this also had the perfect amount of resistance which I really, really appreciated. The detents and action of the stops worked and felt flawless and I don't think I've seen a better rotating table push-and-lock mechanism on any other miter saw brand. A little heavier than the competition but I didn't mind at all. The motor sounded healthy and the saw had enough power to cut what It was meant to cut. With that being said though, you could some what easily bog the tool down if you weren't careful. What I really didn't like was the blade change system. Bolts and spring resistance and push levers and no guard hold-back and just a really poor design all around. The plastic rivets holding the dust shoot sleeve in place also started to fall out. I think it was missing one to begin with because I could never find it.. and then a second one fell out. Part of this has to be the poor design of where the blade guard meets the sleeve. The blade guard literally just jams into the rubber (I think it was rubber) dust shoot sleeve when at rest. Just seemed like another very, very poor oversight or afterthought in design. With DeWalt being the king of saw shadow light technology, I would have been cool with keeping the saw despite all of its other shortcomings (minus the plastic rivets falling out).. unfortunately, it fell extremely short in this department as well. You literally cant see a clear and visible line until your blade is within an inch or two of the work piece.. and at that point, I can just rest the blade to the left or right of my pencil mark, lift a little and begin to cut. Also, shortly after buying, the light on my unit stopped staying on for 20 seconds or so like it did when I first bought it. It would flicker on and off sometimes like there was an electrical short inside or something. Altogther I really disliked the light system on this unit. Took it back because I was so dissatisfied. Honestly, although there are some things to like about this unit, this saw felt like a big waste of time for me.

Great job site tool!
28 April 2023

This is a great job site saw. It's light-weight is noticed when you have to load and unload it multiple times a day. It has all the things I love about It's big brother(my double bevel, sliding, 12" blade, Dewalt chop saw) that stays in my shop on its rolling stand. That one takes up too much space in my truck. I do a lot of trim work on cabinets and doors and the like, and 1 battery lasts me all day of continuous use! Love this saw!Only gripe I have is the inability to use Dewalt crown stops with this saw.Otherwise, I'd highly recommend it!

I recently purchased this saw from a big box store. I really needed something for the small stuff that I just really don’t feel like taking out my Festool Kapax on my best fence stand, because this stand is a beast. I also should note that I have a vast verity of Makita 18v tools but found that the cost of their similar saw was just outrageous for a small battery powered saw. With that I set my eyes on this little guy and the Milwaukee that is similar. I settled on this saw because first its the best in class price, and two well its the best in class price. I just really don’t feel like the investment for a small saw, that I wont be using full time should be outrageous.Upon opening the box the saw is fully assembled and comes with a table hold down, dust bag, charger and 4.0ah battery. I was happy it also came with a 40 tooth bladeThe saw came with a 2 bar charge so I let it charge full and then took it out and a small cabinet job and gave er a go. I have many guys as well as friends that use the 12’’ Dewalt saws and I have to admit tho my Festool is far superior I’m totally jealous of the shadow line. Lasers suck and the shadow line just works incredibly well. Very cool feature.I took a piece of red oak hardwood flooring and did some test cuts. The first cut I was impressed, the blade did spin fast enough and didn’t burn the wood, it also had no issue going thru the dense oak. Then cuts both ways on a 45, good cuts and perfect 45. Now the bevel......This saw only bevels one way. I don’t find this a issue at all but may be a issue for a novice that cant cut backwards and upside down. When I cut the oak on a 45 bevel the saw didn’t cut square so I tried again with a plung cut and then again with the bevel slide, same result every time. I guess it could be possible I got a bad saw, but I don’t think so. One of my crews has this same saw and I will try the same thing on it, somewhere down the line. I don’t plan on using this saw for much, toe kicks, scribe, and I even ran a little quarter round with it today.Overall Ithink this saw will become a staple in my arsenal of tools. The convenience factor is absolutely worth the small investment. I even think I’ll be buying a few more for my other trucks. Over all great saw, has plenty of power for small jobs. I just wish it would cut square on a bevel.

I was looking for a 10" Chop Saw, just ssomething light. I have a huge Dewalt 13" or 15" sliding miter saw that rarely gets huge because it is heavy and very awkward to use anywhere other than mounted permanently in the wood shop. Anyway, by Harbor Freight chop saw failed after only two years, so I needed another one for a work bench I was building. The tool guy at our local Lowes showed this one to me and I fell in-love with it. Thanks to black Friday deals (at HD), I already had (2) 6 Amp, (2) 4 Amp and (2) 2 Amp Dewalt batteries. This became a no-brainer. It cuts through 2x4s like butter and the 6 amp battery lasted the entire project and there was a lot of cutting. This is a lightweight great tool!!!
